View Full Version : Slow down after reading books etc

Hi up there!

I have a technical problem of another kind:
When playing T1/T2 and reading books, sheets or even looking at the map or the objectives and returning to the game, then the framrate goes very down (up to half a frame a second). This takes some time, depending on the size of the mission. It seems that data is transfered from somewher to elsewhere. What could it be and how can I get rid ot this?

I use: Athlon XP 1800+, 512 MB-Ram, 80 GB-HD, formerly a Geforce 4 MX 440, now Radeon 9600 (both the same effect) and all running under WinXP-Home.

Anyone any idea?

Weird. Will try to duplicate. Seems video related tho'...what kind of monitor do you have?

I work with a normal CRT-Monitor 17", maximum resolution for the games (1024 x 768 for T1, 1280 x 1024 for T2)

I didn't have this problems (at last I didn't noticed it) on my old computer (AMD K6-2 500, 256 BM Ram, TNT2 Graphics).

Only thing I can think of is that Thief changes the resolution to a lower one when viewing the books, scrolls, etc, and perhapse your machine doesn't like switching resolutions for some reason?

So it is: using 640 x 480 makes no problem at all. Ok, some less picture quality, but better and smother game action. Thank you for the hint.
