Theres a lot of controversy over this game, with some people who love the game and some who hate it. I've been following the game over some time and there are a few issues i'm not sure about, like;

Is it good enough to spend £30 on?

Read about 4 so far and I'm getting the same message, minor set-backs such as no ability to pause and a not so intuitive interface most of which could be fixed by adding a few hotkeys. Then there's the message "If you love strategic play but don't care for frantic unit hordes this may be the game for you." At last.

Anyway, I bought it and should have it tommorow/saturday and we'll see then.

Post what you think of it :)

I like Republic really much, but when you check reviews you'll notice that people have a very different opinion, some give it in the 80's other give it in the 60-70 %.

So far I'm enjoying it, though I keep getting the odd crash.

But I realy have to say the lack of proper tutorial realy hurts at the beggining and the interface could have been a bit better.

What i'd realy like though is for that damn clock to stop when you're planning actions and reading something.

I have just been round my friends house to play it, and no offense to anyone here. I found it very boring. It is to slow, i think it should at least let you have battles with the other parties.

Actualy now that I've gotten used to it the interface isn't a problem, could use sharpening a bit though. I've fixed the crashing, it was caused by my Memories BUS Speed.

Now I've further into Ekaterine and things have got realy difficult, The Church and the Socialists are realy driving away my support with Revelations and Vandals, how do I fight them back when all I have is Canvasing, Rallies and Posters? Oh and I need more Influence...desperatly. I'm still enjoying it though.

EDIT: Bugger off Monkey boy :D

Just keep using Canvassing (not too much in the same area though!) and all other actions in neutral areas. Just make sure that you complete your objectives.

Once you advance in the game you'll see that there is a new neutral person which you can recruit (just fire the canvass guy) he's able to vandalize and destroy the support of your opponents. Since your a bit short on influence he will certainly be welcome, at that time I had 1400 force muhaha :D

After the prison I took in Robert Tarasov, the former leader of the DNP. That was a fun experience. :D
