Update 2: see first post.

IGN interview with Warren Spector
topics include DXIW, game design, HL2 and Doom3.

Interesting (from part 2) :

"The reality is, the best selling game of all time, if we assume it's GTA or Myst or whatever it is these days, probably sold 10 or 12 million copies. Wow. That would get you cancelled on network television in three episodes. We are a cultural force now, which is really cool -- we're right there in the cultural spotlight. But as far as being a mass medium, I don't know if we are."

"And frankly, if making games that appeal to an older audience limits the number of people who can or will buy or play the games we make, I'm fine with that. "

"I don't need to sell 10 million copies. All I need is to sell enough so that Eidos wants to keep funding our work. That philosophy has allowed us to make games that I hope are a little more adult, a little more sophisticated, maybe with a little smaller audience than a lot of other people out there want to make. "

"Invisible War is deeper and narrower than Deus Ex was. And much deeper, and much narrower than an old Ultima is. And we're getting as much gameplay as we ever have, so there's been no sacrifices in gameplay. I think players are going to be able to play this over and over again. "

Haven't read it yet but it sounds interesting...

EDIT:

Invisible War will be available in early December on both Xbox and PC.

You can equip yourself with nothing but drone biomods, meaning that you're something of a sci-fi summoner, walking around with autonomous drones that will protect you, attack your enemies, and so on.

Weapon mods have turned out to be one of the most fun features in the game: it's great to collect three pistols and make one your stealth assassin pistol, one your anti-bot pistol, and one your assault pistol.

You'll even notice subtle differences between playing as a male or a female.

The combinations of weapons, biomods, and faction alliances makes every playthrough a fresh and new experience.

Sounds good to me!

We aren't the game where you either have no choice at all or where the choice is so simplistic that it's comedic (i.e. saving the fluffy kitten is the obvious choice of how to be "good" and shooting the nice old lady crossing the street is the obvious way to be "evil").

I did find this a little "comedic" indeed in what I saw of KOTOR.

I also liked this one :

You presented Deus Ex fans with multiplayer update for the original title some time after its release. Will Deus Ex: Invisible War include multiplayer out of the box, or is this something you might consider adding via a patch at a later date?

Hudson: We aren't counting anything out, but right now we are focusing on making the best single-player experience possible.

(exactly what I hoped)
