From the dollar amounts I would assume it was based on
total sales to date :D

Looks like it's based on units sold. Not money made. Notice that it doesn't include PC versions of the games sold.

I don't think it would be profit.

If you notice....

260 XBX SSX TRICKY ELECTRONIC ARTS Dec-01 161,814 $6,529,565
261 GCN MEDAL HONOR FRONTLINE ELECTRONIC ARTS Nov-02 161,790 $7,674,008
262 PS2 ACTION/ADVNTURE VALUE MULTIPLE VIDEO GAME MANUFACTUR Jun-02 161,041 $2,795,639
263 PS2 HOT WHEELS:VELOCITY X THQ Nov-02 160,859 $6,292,224

AoD made more money than each of those, yet they're ranked higher than AoD.

And was it absolutely necessary to list ALL 500 TITLES to just point out the fact that TombRaider was #267???...it would have been a bit more logical (if not more considerate at the very least)to just link to the actual list rather than just 'cut and paste' the ENTIRE THING in the thread. And exactly what relevance does a list of sales for games from all console platforms have, when this forum pertains to TR anyway? Not to mention that this sheet only lists these figures for units/dollars total by the end of June 2003. If those are the totals for June 03, it is even more irrelevant as the TR game only hit stores on June 20, 2003...leaving only 10 days worth of sales on that sheet. It is pointless to rank the game when others higher on the list have been out for years, opposed to days for Tomb Raider in that list. I am unsure what you were trying to prove or point out with this.
