I'm going to buy one of these:

- ATI Radeon 9100 64 MB DDR
- nVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 MB DDR

I know these are not the best cards out there, but that's what I can afford.

Which one of these two would you recommend I buy if I want to play TR AOD as best as I can?

Has anybody got any of these? How do they work for you?

Thanks.

i using a geforcefx 5600, and the performance are quite good for me, still at some area will be a little lag, but i using 1024X768@72Hz, open all special effect, and still work great. I heard that Radeon will be less problem when play this game, but for me, there is no problem using geforcefx, so,u make the decision by urself.

I suggest you look at www.tomshardware.com it's a great site for hardware reviews and comparisons. I know they have reviews on the cards you are looking at.

If you can't be bothered reading all the tech stuff, just go straight to the conclusion page.

Just had a look at www.tomshardware.com myself and found :-

VGA Card Buyer's Guide 07/2003

This has lots of cards benchmarked against the top games.

Worth a look

The 5200 is better that the 9100 in more ways than one.

First it is Direct X 9 compatible. 9100 is not.

Second, it has 128Mb RAM. This is the acceptable minimum on video cards.

In conclusion: the 9100 is a dated card while the 5200 is part of nVidia's current hardware genration.
