View Full Version : Adversaries in LOK-D

Yesterday I made this small list of every adversary in the LOK games, except BO-LOK, there's too many of them there. And since the last three LOK games have been all 3D, then it has clearly taken more effort to make character models there than in BO-LOK. So that's why I left BO-LOK out and that's why we're only viewing the last three games.
These are the results, namely the number of different adversary classes in each game.

LOK-SR: 16
TLOKS-SR2: 17
TLOKS-BO2: 15

LOK-D: 12 (currently)

I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. :)
Actually very.
They still have about 4 months till the release date hits and already from the pre-release screenshots we've seen there are 12 different adversary classes.
And what makes it even more fun, there are so many adversaries from each class You get to fight with.
In addition the cool amount of bosses and minibosses!
I'm sure there are more, but currently they have about 3 missing from the normal amount of adversary classes (LOK-SR) and 4 missing from the highest adversary class amount (TLOKS-SR2).
I mean, if they have about 6 more (or even more than that) adversary classes to surprise us then this game will rock more than ever!
And here's the list of the adversary classes in LOK-D. If You find that I've missed someone, let me know.

01: Thralls
02: Sarafan Sword Warriors
03: Sarafan Dual Sword Warriors
04: Sarafan Dual Axe Warriors
05: Sarafan Javelin Warriors
06: Sarafan Archer Warriors
07: Freak Beasts
08: Sluaghs
09: Spectral Wraiths
10: Knife Thugs
11: Chinese Hammer Thugs
12: Javelin Vampire Hunter Mercenaries

So many already and hopefully more classes to come! Man, this game will rock our world! :)

Not to question your judgement Matt but where did you find out about the Hylden wraith ,as i havent (dont think) seen any pics apart from maybe one where Raziel is sucking a soul shaped hyldenish but thats it!

please explain as i would like to read more about these abominations;) :D ;)

Haha, no problem, mate.

Well. I just gave that funny bloke the name 'Hylden Wraith', because he was Hylden-esque with small wings and that funny crown-shaped exoskeleton thingy. Plus, You can't argue that the bloke really looked like a wraith. ;)

I just gave him that name, mate. We call aliens aliens and UFO's UFO's, but maybe their real name is Larry? Or Bob perhaps?

I really want to congratulate CD!

I mean, we're still about 4 months away from the release date and from merely the pre-release screenshots, we see that there are already 13 adversary classes!

I do hope they haven't shown all their cards, I hope they have many many more cards up their sleeve!

Hopefully 10 more. :D :p

I think Lucent said there was a fire demon in the demo. That'll make it upto 14.

You might want to read this, which I, in fact, wrote in the original post.

I think I've found a new adversary from the new LOK-D screenshots and it's the Javelin Thug. Similar to the Knife Thug (the Thug with two spikes coming out of his hands), but wields a javelin.

The demon that I saw in the E3 demo was shown in another screenshot I believe, a large red demon, kinda distorted looking.

wow, some of those enemy types look a little weird, they should make enemys that look a bit like the clan vampires in soul reaver 1. thanks matt...........again.:p

No problem, mate. I like helping scorpions, even those who are insane.

Lucent, my mate, could you care to explain who exactly did you mean? I don't recall seeing any screenshot like that before (and I'm not to boast, but I think I have almost every LOK-D screenshot available on the net at the moment in my private collection).

Oh, and by the way. According to the original title of the picture with Raziel and the Wind Reaver, that screenshot must've been taken near the Pillars. :)

I'll see if I can find any screenshots of it around. I think it might've been on gamespot, I'm not sure. Wherever it was, it was definately the same demons that come out of the chained people in Raziel's 2nd stage in the publicity demo that both I and now another Eidos forum member have played.

Blincon has a little write-up about that demo on thelostworlds.

Yeah, please look for it and show it to me, mate, because I really don't recall seeing one. Especially on GameSpot.
You talked about them coming out of the chained humans, but I have never ever seen one on a screenshot. :(

Eagerly waiting, man.

Wham. That's it, I'm almost certain that's the very same demon that came out of the woman. Though I believe its in a different area in this screenshot.

Matt from Spam Buddies

Oh... Yeah, I've seen that one.

I was confused, because you said in your demo thread that the demons were similar to the Fire and Black Demons from TLOKS-SR2.

But that guy isn't even a bull, is more humanoid and doesn't have horns. :(

Oh well... Thanks for searching.

They've got to be related somehow, not too many critters that size and that evil looking in the LoK series.

Could this be another one?

http://www.eidosinteractive.co.uk/gss/lokdefiance/screenshots/11.jpg

Looks like a Sarafan sorceress.

Matt from Spam Buddies

Thanks, Marax. :)

I already added her, though, but named her a Javelin Thug.

That was a mistake of mine, because now I see that she has Moe's hourglass crest on her back. And the javelin's blade looks pretty much like a fragment from the Sarafan crest, too.

Thanks! :)

I'll name her... Mini-Javelin-Sarafan-Chick-Me. :D :p

Um, actually, I do mind. :p

It's a personal stash site.

Pweeze remove it, mate, no hard feelings. :)

Hm. It's sad, but I'm afraid that the list of current adversaries in LOK-D will shrink down a bit.

Apparently, there are no Black Demons there (the little misunderstanding with Lucent here... he actually meant the Freak Beast), the "Hylden Wraiths" are merely the souls of Thralls and I'm also afraid that the Stone Statue Demons and Stone Statue Ancients are all "merely" mini-bosses, so they won't count as common adversaries.

Although, I guess we should add "Sarafan Axe Warriors", since I've seen some of them on recent screenshots.

It looks like it's part way through transforming from a human (or something similar) to a SR2 demon. Maybe they transform in stages.

Matt from Spam Buddies

Hm, good theory. :)

Although Lucent is the man who knows.
