I have been fiddling with this game since I bought it, and can't seem to get the settings right. I WANT to play it in 1024X768 and should be able to.

My system:
P4 2.53Ghz
512MB DDR 333
Radeon 9500 PRO 128MB
SBLIVE! MP3+ 5.1
Western Digital 80GB HDD
Windows XP PRO
DirectX 9.0a
Using latest catalyst 3.5's

Anyone with similar systems been able to get this thing to run very well? I have tried all kinda of different settings, I don't know what all of em do, but Ive tried em. One way was to turn off the shader hardware, but then it doesnt look good at all! All shader effects are gone. Suggestiosn would be greatly appreciated!

What screen depth are you runnibg windows in. Tomb Raider wont run bigger than your screen res. I had this prob, I increased my desktop scale to 1024 x 768. and then ran tomb raider and it was ok. but first on, the settings tab on the game the one on the flash screen in the beginning I clicked on default normal, then apply, and then ok, ran the game and all was well.

Yeah I am running my desktop in 1024X768. Strange... I see other posters having problems with 9700 and 9800's! Do Nvidia Cards not have these issues?

I Got a:

PIII 1Ghz
512MB SD RAM
GeForce 4 Ti 4600
Audigy 5.1
Windows XP PRO
DirectX 9.0a

I can run the game with 1152x864, 32 bit

I have all the settings up to the maximum (eg, Anisotropic, etc)

In General settings I have "Frame Rate Compression" active and set to Fast, (smooth won't work)

The graphics look great and the game runs perfect for me

That is sooo wierd! I dont get it! Cept i noticed that radeons seem to have more problems than the nvidia cards with this game. Why dont they come out with a radeon patch?

I have a nvidia card and it has a less than one frame per second frame rate. It wasn't bad everywhere, but I'm in the Hall of Seasons and it has been slow all the way through.

I have:

PIII 1.2
256MB
nVidia GeForce 2 Ti 64MB
SB Live!
Windows XP
DirectX 9.0

I only upgraded Windows from 98 1st ed. to XP because I thought I needed it to play the game. :(

I even tried it at 320x200 and had the same performance.

Is true Radeons cards have muuucccchhhh more problem than nVidia cards, really, dont know why, I think eidos, Core or whatever, make a Radeon patch for this game, I have a friend with a Radeon 9800 Pro 128 and the game run vvveeerrryyy weird, and with a big lag.

We Radeons owners (I have 9700 PRO) need the TR:AoD Radeon Patch.

the problem is your running 2 bit code on a 32 bit Windows o/s machine. get it?!

Hummmm!?!

Ok guys I run TRAOD in 800x600 & 1024x768, 32bit color depth on a Samsung P10, P4 1.4ghz laptop with 512mb DDR, 32mb Mobilty Radeon 7500 AGP (Internal DAC 350mhz)

However the game did run a little smoother in 800x600. So I am finding it so very hard to believe you guys are having probs with Radeon 9700 & 9800's! Must be something I am doing wrong eh?
