View Full Version : How many people liked the Parisian Gheto level?

29th Jun 2003, 00:10
I liked it a lot. It really gave me a sense of "Hmm...What the hell do I do now?" Not to mention the fact that I had no idea until I started playing a second time through that there were maps through the level. :o

I'd like to see a level like that in TR7 that works with your PS2/PC's internal clock. If it's 6:00AM, the sun will be coming up and very few people will be out (like in the ghetto). At noon lots of people could be out and about since it's most peoples' lunch hour...At midnight the streets could be more mean and dangerous. I suppose i'm the only person who likes the sound of this. :p

29th Jun 2003, 01:27
loads of people like the idea of that. unfortunately they are all in the Shenmue forum.

29th Jun 2003, 02:37
Mmmhmm. :-\ I'm guessing Shenmue is a pretty good game? I've never played it or the sequel due to the lack of owning a Dreamcast or Xbox.

29th Jun 2003, 02:43
yeah that would be great to have another place like that. it would be nice to return to it and stuff too every couple of levels.

29th Jun 2003, 02:49
Returning to it would be cool. :) You could get assignments from the president of a museum, or do some shady business for the local crime boss.

Another thing i'd like to see in the next game is more uses for money. There should be a gun shop or something.

29th Jun 2003, 03:00
In the second game I started, I've collected over a hundred rounds of ammo for three different weapons, and thirty large medipacks.

I haven't figured out how to spend money on the hooker yet.

29th Jun 2003, 03:10

Sorry about that. I'm just a noob trying to figure out the mysteries of the blue bars. If I can figure out the bars here, I might be able to remove them from 'Wacked!'.

29th Jun 2003, 03:17
I'm "new" here too (as in i've been registered for a while but hardly ever posted until now). I'm used to posting at message boards where you just post *SPOILERS* before a message. :)

LOL! Can you imagine?

Lara: Hey! *shows Janice huge wad of cash* You go both ways?
Janice: *Looks at Lara's body* ...Yep.

I kept entering an re-entering the metro area to collect money and clips, but got really bored after about 3000 euros and 20 clips of ammo.

29th Jun 2003, 04:11
Being "Trigger Happy", I wanted to get as much ammo as I could.

In the PC version, do you think that there will be a patch for Lara and Janice to get it on?

29th Jun 2003, 13:37
Eww why, Janice looks like an old granny with to much makeup and a wig! LOL anyone else see that resemblance?, I also tell her she isnt in Lara's Class keke

29th Jun 2003, 20:00
Anyone who wears make up doesn't look real in the first place. I figured, that since mimes are popular there, that's the way that they try to turn each other on.
Even some geisha girls in Japan pack on the war paint and plaster their hair. And those Lost Vegas dancing girls; how fake can one get?

29th Jun 2003, 20:15
I noticed that Janice's character model was used a lot. The woman who helps you get into the graveyard looked exactly like Janice, and if i'm not mistaken Boaz's character model/face was the same too. The only things that are different is their hair and their clothing. Boaz seemed to look a bit different though.

30th Jun 2003, 00:50
Yeah. I think that Boaz has longer legs.

You think so, huh?

Whoops! Sorry. I had thought that it was ok to talk about the leg sizes, but not the breast sizes. So, it's the other way around?

Hey does anyone one remember what the hell that guy at the Cafe said about the light that didn't work. I am now at the club and I have killed everyone there but I don't see any light that doesn't work.

You have to work your way to the control room at the top. When you work the controls, the cut scene will give you the clues you need.

Naw, talk about both. Was just commenting on how it would only be men to bring up the female models up. Hehe.

Thanks! :D
But, are you sure that it's ONLY men who've talk about the female models?

Eh, maybe your right. You just know I was completely turned on by Janice's model, and I was just waiting for you to bring up the subject. *Drools*

The Parisian Ghettos were pretty cool...but you take five steps and it has to load for no apparent reason.

OK, maybe I exagurate a bit, but that's what it felt like. :p

4th Jul 2003, 04:08
I think the complexity of the different areas causes a new scene to be loaded...

4th Jul 2003, 16:26
You need to kick down the bridge first. Then you can enter the control room.
Drag your mouse to view text.

cheers.im in the ancient tomb now,and keep falling to my ragdoll death

the parisian ghetto level was by far the worst part of the game and it's a shame because lots of people would have given up before they get to the better later levels.

5th Jul 2003, 00:15
To be honest, I really hated the parisian ghetto... I ran around for a very long time, the game had to load every time I went to a new area of the level, and the level ran veeery slow.

Besides... why on earth does Lara need all that money??? she doesn't spend it anyways...

And the boxers... so... I won a gold watch... what for???

The Parisian Ghetto was a waste of time, and I think they should have spent some more time on the other levels instead.

Very true, the entire level was completely empty, not true to a typical ghetto at all,and thus we spent loading times just playing two levels,ie the club and the hideout, only to realise that the ghetto should have and could have been so much more.
What was funny though was walking into the cafe to be greeted by a zombie with only half a face and teeth, cool.
I think it was better seeing the glitch than the normal animated pierre who was quite boring and cocky(and needed a good kick in the teeth)
But i love this tomb raider for all its difference and tradition.
I havent had a crash or any error except the occaisional glitch of directx(crap)9 graphics.
Thanks core design.i still remember reading all your adventure novels before you went digital.

I believe the reason why there are so few people outside is because it's 6:00 AM and there is a serial killer on the loose. :)

I don't mind if MY Lara gets it on with Janice. But, Kirk has to be mulched! And, then send his flaming frisbie at any other geek who comes to close to her.
