Hi All

Spotted this in the Thief newsgroup, and remembered that some here had Turtle beach soundcards and had had problems. Apparently there are new beta drivers out there that seem to work pretty well:

Thanks Bravus.:) I was posting about that. I bought the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz from a company with a 30 day refund policy, no questions asked. Thief 2 woldn't work properly, so I returned the Santa Cruz. The problem was only with Thief 2. I didn't see mention of the Thief problem in the driver description. Can you post a link to the newsgroup discussion? I may still be interested. The Santa Cruz is an otherwise very satisfactory card.

Hmm, I've never posted a newsgroup link before. Let's give it a try:

news://news.telusplanet.net:119/Xns938191B6CECDAS1Dtest@216.166.71.233

Hmm, that seems to be a link to my news server, which will probably ask you for a password. The newsgroup is alt.games.thief-dark-project, and the discussion is near the bottom, with a title directly related to the card name.

See ya,

Bravus

You could use Google Groups (http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&group=alt.games.thief-dark-project).

Direct link to thread. (http://groups.google.com/groups?dq=&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&frame=right&th=a94ab2510b1c349b&seekm=Xns938191B6CECDAS1Dtest%40216.166.71.233#link1)

Thanks Bravus and LeatherMan. Sorry to be late replying. I had forgotten about this thread.:o

Anyway, the files in question appear to be another application, AudioStation, not the drivers. The last Win-2K drivers to come out were April 2002. I tried those. So I guess the TB-SC still doesn't work well with Thief, under Win 2K at least. It was not in the cards to revert to 98 and test it there.
