hey,

While I was surfing I found all the pics of the PSM article and the pics used for that art. I've put them all in a yahoogroup. So for those who wants to see them click the link if you don't you don't.

http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/lokdefiance/

And now for my actual question:). Is it just me or do the guys that raziel fights (in image3) look like vampires?

At first I thought so too, but they also reminded me of the vamps out sr1.

I think that you have to sign up for a yahoo ID.
And cookies must be enabled.

I don`t think that we`ll be fighting vampires. Kain is the king of vampires I don`t think that vampires would be fighting him.

Kain is the king.... in the far future.

So far, all I've heard that LOK-D takes place in BO1 era, where Kain is still a fledgling, and his older self is out and about. All the vampires are unlikely to be Kain's brood, therefore not going to care who this old cloven bastard is.... until they gets a Blood Reaver shoved through their colan :D

<pauses, digesting a thought>

.........................................

Wait a minute, Kain is supposed to be the last vampire in BO1... so either this takes please in the year (or even way way before BO1) before young Kain went back to kill William the Just... or....

We get to finally see firsthand how the disruption of the timeflow wreaks havok to the BO1 story! And finally figure out how Vorador survived to make it to BO2! And how Vorador turned trai- oop, been reading too many of Umah Bloodomen's conspiracy theories :p

Or the story will be stuck in 500(0) years before BO1.

Wonders how much if any of LOK-D will include time-hopping....

Addictive aren't they? ;)

I'll concede that Vorador's enough of a bastard to do anything... pretty much like everybody else in LOK.

Except for Raziel.

Stupid Smurf.

i checked out the gamespot coverage (only a page) which basically said the samge thing as the IGN coverage but said something about Raziel tossing a vampire onto a spear or something.

i think that kain and raziel could be agressors forcing the native vampires to defend themselves or they are fighting kain because they don't particularly want a king

Umah, beloved fellow Tafferette and Grande Schemer of things; pray tell, wherest can I taff those conspiracies of yours, dear? :D

Umah's theories are based off of the less than spectacular presentation of Vorador in BO2.

Check out the Blood Omen forum to find them.

Actually Abellah, they're not all in the Blood Omen forum. Most of them are in the SR forum. Give me a bit on that Roxy dear, and I'll look up a few for you. ;)

Yes, I've joined the legions of Taffers and Tafferettes. Aren't you just so proud of me? Kain's got a little competiton with Mr. Garrett. :D :p

Most of your theories I've read in in BO forum, but hey, as long as information is spread, it's all good.

I don't agree with your theory, but if in Defiance your theory proves true, I'll drink to you, because I think we can mostly blame you. ;) :p

Oh, yes he does. Garrett was my first love - I played Thief before I played LoK. Never been the same since. :D

What mission are you on? Play the games in chronological order, things will make better sense, then. And don't cheat by looking at the mission movies - the fun is in the suprise!

I'm replaying Thief: TDP on Expert. Currently in the Bonehoard. Chock-full of Burricks. I don't like Burricks. Egh...

Probably the scariest level of ALL videogames is Return to the Haunted Cathedral. Oh. My. God. FREAKY. Hammer Haunts and Zombies everywhere...

And just wait 'till you play Metal Age. Sabotage at Soulforge nearly gives RHC a run for its money - no pun intended, since we're talking about thievery here...

I can't wait for the third installment to come out. YAY!

Play on, little Taffer, play on... :D

Abellah ~ Don't do me any favors, really. :o

Roxy ~ TDP: Normal mode (just picked the game up about 2 weeks ago and haven't had a lot of time to play yet). Break From Cragscleft Prison. (Near the Officer's quarters trying to get Felix's Map).

As for those theories I promised:

Transplanted From Another Forum... (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13159)

Probably my favorite and most indepth non-typical theory to date.
I am really pleased with the way this one turned out. (Keep in mind I have another response to it planned).

Role of Humans In Nosgoth... (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16263)

A nice little speculative thread.

The *Edge* of Kain's Two-Sided Coin... (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12595&perpage=20&pagenumber=2)

This was just an interesting discussion overall.

Vorador And Moebius' staff... (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9661)

This one was another good one IMO. It makes you stop and think about the events there in the opening FMV of BO/end of SR2.

Why Janos Must Stay Dead... (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12541)

About all I can say about this one is that it's enough to give you a migrain. (Ask warp, vampmaster and Buz). :p

The Hylden: Native or Not? (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14660)

This one is a decent one. It just focuses on humans and Hylden propaganda mostly. It's interesting nonetheless.

Vorador:Something fishy going on with this one... (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4168&highlight=Vorador+Something+fishy+going+on)

The start of it all. (This is actually further explained in the first link I provided).

Kain: The descendent (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11171&highlight=Kain+The+descendent)

A very interesting thread, which I am also going to further in another discussion.

Well, I went through about 60 pages of my posts, which brings me to the point where I started making non-typical theories.

Hope you enjoy the read. :)

Hey, wait, is it 'taffer'? I always thought they were yelling 'tapper' at him... I figured, 'cause he's a thief and all, all they'd hear would be a tap... So if it is indeed 'taffer', what is that referring to?

Apocrypha Roxy
16th May 2003, 19:23
Tapper?

-is grateful she wasn't drinking anything, or she would've nearly pulled an 'Umah with Gatorade' :D-

Okay, now that I've composed myself, the whole 'taFFer' thing is a loooong story. From what I can remember, the designers explained it as a fictional 'medieval cuss-word'.

For instance, you can use it to replace explicatives.. Sounds funnier, anyway. :)

'Taff off!' 'Quit whinin', you taffer!' 'Who's taffin' around?' 'You taffer!' and the list goes on.

If we use it enough, it might even be incorporated into the dictionary - at least, those of us who play think it should be. It would be a sniglet - a word that doesn't appear in the dictionry, but should.

I have this whole little book of 'sniglets' from 'Not Necessarily The News', a comedy series on HBO in the 80's. Now, I don't remember it, since I was a wee babe, but the book is dated 1985 - hey, it's as old as me...

Anyway, it has alot of funny ones, and some actually make sense...

EG:

Cheeriomanetization: The tendency of the last four or five Cheerios in the bowl to cling together for survival.

Neutron Peas: Tiny green objects in TV dinners that remain frozen even when the rest of the food has been microwaved beyond recognition.

Vacation Elbow: The condition that suddenly develops in a father's arm during a vacation trip that allows him to reach out and slap you from incredible distances.

:D

Thank you, Umah. I'm going to check those out right now, after I stop chuckling at the above... hehe...

Edit: Spelling error - so much for becoming an English major... Stupid keyboard...
