If so, what would you do differently?

Perhaps do away with some of the characters...Not alot, just some. And if you want, broaden the one player version a bit...bringing back that "Goldeneye" aspect of the game

Well they could change the HUD (heads up display).
I hate having to get hurt or pause the game to see how much health or armour I have.

Bigger levels.

Yeah, I agree with the HUD - it would be nice to have it perpetually visible, although you compromise a "natural" field of vision that way. I love the game though. I think it's even better than Time Splitters 1. The graphics are very nice and I like the world renderings even better. My one complaint is that after playing games like Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon, now I'm kinda hooked on that realism. It makes Time Splitters seem a little too cartoonish. You guys played any of the Tom Clancy games?

I've got splinter cell on xbox and I've had it a few weeks before I got TS2 and I'm about to complete everything on TS2 and I havent finished splinter cell yet. Shows ya which I like more :p

Dont get me wrong, I think splinter cell is fantastic but I didnt find it anywhere near as addictive as TS2 cos its fun due to its unrealistic 'cartoonish' play.

I like the cartoon look (at least in multiplayer). Characters like R One Oh Seven, the duckman and the Impersonator still crack me up. I'd like for them to have even more varied screams/voices if possible.

I also think that there should be more multiplayer game modes. They did a great job in TS2, but there's really no excuse why we can't combine modes like elimination with capture the bag, or monkey assist with gladiator. There should also be "King of the Hill" and "Jailbreak".

I'll also mention a couple age-old topics: They should support online map exchange (as well as online play) and add control OPTIONS to give fixed center aim (and probably crosshairs). Those things will make the game more popular with fans of other fps games.

See, the opposite happened to me - I got TS2, started playing it, then got Splinter Cell and played it to the end. Then I went back to TS2 in co-op mode with a buddy (which we're currently still working on very gradually) and now I'm back to playing Splinter Cell again. TS2 has become more of a "buddy time" game, while Splinter Cell is my "me-time" game. Make sense? Anyway, they're both great fun.

Realism. A shot in the head won't kill them? Not even a 12 guage shot in the head? Come on. Stop pissing me off.

I'd also like the original explosions from Goldeneye back. You know, the laggy ones that won't go away for like half a minute? That was pretty damn fun.

...Or if you like that unrealism, you should be able to change the damage ratios, or the damage done to each body part. Like, I would make a HEAD SHOTS ONLY game by setting the damage received by the body 0 and by the head like 500.

head shots only?!?!?!??!
That won't work.
I wouldn't be bothered aiming up all the time to shoot some heads.

I like TS2 like it is.
It should have more game modes though.

Team shrink? Team gladiator? Team leech? A team fortress like mode? They really should have a low-grav mode if there was jumping.

I would bring back some classic Goldeneye levels. Like Perfect dark did. I can never get enough of the Facility:D

Yes, they need to distinguish game types from health modes and handicapping methods in the menus (something like what I suggested in my post about arcade menus would work). btw: that would allow team gladiator WITH leech (health mode) AND shrink (handicap option).

As far as headshots go, a single sniper rifle headshot will bring down a five star bot. I don't need a lot of "realism" beyond that. In reality, a bullet anywhere in the body would bring down an opponent. The name of the game is fun ... and TS2 is fun as it is.

The only thing I would like in that department is that bots should have to settle down a bit more to get a good headshot with the sniper rifle. Right now, they can do it while they continue to dodge. It seems even more ridiculous when bots get hold of the lasergun. I like that weapon, but it's almost unplayable with good bots.

Well, Free Radical can't bring the maps from Perfect Dark and Goldeneye back to TS2, maybe because they don't belong to them, technically  But i don't know if Free Radical could get sued for copying game maps.

But I keep searching for my Complex in TS2

:(

Sad that I haven't found a Complex-esque level in TS2 yet.

Actually, Ufopia could count, but then the realism does not exist like in Perfect Dark. ARGH

And I think I posted something sometime ago like you can unlock "Realistic" mode. It's not a cheat, just an option in the Options menu. So then you'd need to have challenges completed in Unrealistc mode with 1, 2, 3, and 4 players (remember the Challenges in PD? I'm talking about that) and then Realistic mode with 1, 2, 3, and 4 players.

If it were like that in TS2, how many Platinums would that be? 528 platinums? :D :D :D

Funfunfun

Hey, I'm not disagreeing with you there. In fact, I think it's kind of dumb how it takes several shots to kill the 'hero'. The more realistic, the better IMO. However, Splinter Cell is more realistic than most games and frankly, I've never seen a shot to the head that didn't kill the enemy instantly in that game. A truly accurate head shot usually works right away in most shooters.

A shot in the head won't kill them? And in a game like Splinter Cell? A Tom Clancy game? That's sad, unless they're wearing helmets, of course.

Well, I've got one rule for my realism/unrealism control. If you're going realistic, make headshot kills and realistic damage and realistic everything. If you're going unrealistic, go all out! Jump, fly, teleport, have swords (in a Timesplitters game? Knives? Swords? I have yet to see Free Radical do that!), take 6000 damage, rapid-fire rocket launchers with no reloading, you know, UT or Q3!

You know, that idea of mine popped into my head again.

I've been thinking about this style of game for a long time where you have Mechs and the like, giant robots, tanks, cities, psycho pilots and crazy women, only it's in the style of an fps. All the mech games I've seen today are all third person. So then all the unrealism would make sense! I mean, a robotic, walking, flying, quad-chaingun wielding, rocket-shouldered, auto-aiming tank could take a lot of damage, right?

That'd be cool. Unreal Tournament with Mechs and easiliy controlled flying.

Ithey were to only change 1 thing in ts2 it should be similar character selection system as in timesplitters 1 ie, once selected the character did some thing, for instance chines chef did a few cartwheels, deacon swain said : oh boy, am i ready for this and saluted and captain ash pulled out a bottle of whiskey and sculled it after saying "cheers"

I agree, Id bring back the animations dead cert- either that or include a character editor. include online from the start, and allow the assult mode to be played as either team, oh yeah, and bring back escort mode and allow bots on the i-link.
Bring back the uzi's (as TS1 had the best UZIs in any game Ive ever played) and add more weapons in general including bizzare and comical ones to suit the style of game. allow for more weapons to be used per match rather than giving us the 5 gun limit (I think its 5, I cant be bothered checking right now- Im so lazy).
More memory in the map maker and allow those maps to be played on ilink!
on multiplayer allow the entire 1 player levels to be used (I wanted to use the siberia damb for multiplayer, but alas, it was never to be.
Include a mode that allows you to set logic for the normal levels, such as changing the missions on the single player missions.
do that thing from TS1 when you you unlock things in batches so if your stuck on one level you can try another and go back to it and include stats that change the more you play.

The things I would like to see are more weapons (TS1 had a much better range IMHO, especially in the medium-power range) and the ability to play the different modes in multiplayer.

In TS1 you could play almost all of the games in teams but in TS2 that choice is very restricted. Team bag-tag in TS1 was a beautiful thing to behold, especially when you put in a few bots for random stupidity.

and what ever happened to the 4 team bagtag?
