View Full Version : It's back! The "Make your own superhero" thread!

16th Mar 2003, 06:10
I noticed quite awhile back that this was one of the threads that is no longer here, so here it is again.

Ok, so if you were going to have your own superhero, what would he/she/it be like?

1) What's their super power?

2) How did they acquire it?

3) Which city do they live in/protect?

4) What does their costume look like?

5) What are they like in "real life"?

6) Who is their main villain?

Be creative...again...;) :D

17th Mar 2003, 03:09
Didn't I arleady awnser this one? Oh! It's a new thread! :D heh.

Ok... Let's see here...

1) Think Batman and Spiderman with Superman's Imortality... (i.e bullet proof...). You just gotta know that taking the batmobile out for a drive is on my 'to do' list :)

2) Em? ... He was caught between the war between the USA and Iraq ?.. Drove him made to see that we still have wars and vowed to prevent it from happening again. (that actually sounds like a good super-hero thing :) )

3) The World :) (cause if he's to prevent wars... he'd have to be on a global scale, right? :) )

4) Hmm... I'm terrible at costumes.. I guess im gonna do a cross between #1 again... Ok.. Let's see... Spiderman's costume, Batman's cape and utility belt. (not a bad idea.. He's got everything in that belt...)

5) One of those kids who was picked on (I chose this cause almost everyone can relate... Take Peter Parker/Spider-man... An average teen who becomes a super-hero... I always liked that :) )

6) Dr. Octavious-Riddlous :) (eugh.. terrible with names... tried to go for a cross between octavious and the riddler...)

yes, i know... it sounds corny... but hey! He's my super-hero!! and he stands for peace!! (which is somewhat lacking these days... I dream for a night of peace and quiet ;) )

18th Mar 2003, 10:33
Well, yeah, this is a repeat of the first superhero thread. It vanished, so I've started it over.

Nice superhero you got there, Defender.

OOPS! I completely forgot: 7) What's your superhero's name?

19th Mar 2003, 05:38
em.. John Doe? :) (i got no idea for a name... all i got is a cross between Batman or Spiderman being; Batman or Spiderman (i.e "Bat" from Batman and "Man" from Spiderman... or "Spider" from Spiderman and "Man" From batman...)

I think this is the only question where my cross between 2 superheros wont work ;)

19th Mar 2003, 07:19
I thought it was "Defender" in the other thread. That's a good general superhero name.:D

19th Mar 2003, 20:07
Really? Wow. I totally forgot what I said in that post (the old version of this one).

I guess Defender would apply here, since he fights for world peace.. (defends the world....).

Cool! :)

Hey! Wait a minute!! You Tricked Me!!! Ok. Now its your turn!! What would YOUR super-hero be? :D

20th Mar 2003, 05:23
I still can't seem to come up with a decent idea for mine...:o That's the honest truth. Everything that comes to mind, that hasn't already been done before, ends up sounding cheesy. Bleh, I'll just have to think on it some more and get back to ya.:D

20th Mar 2003, 23:52
I'll hold you to that :)

22nd Mar 2003, 19:15
ok, here we go

1) He (yes, a male) has no real "powers" but he's smart and has a host of gadgets (and money)

2) he acquired it through years of training and mental anguish (especially mental anguish)

3) lives in a place i call "gotham city"

4) his costume is grey and black, mostly a kevlar / nomex mesh, with a lined cowl and a cape that can be used as a type of parachute

5) in "real life", he's basically a dandy, an almost ineffectual fop, yet at the same time, a great philanthropist and industrialist with a company that markets in most everything from technology to manufacturing to transportation.

6) his main villain is criminals everywhere on the streets who prey on the innocent and so on

7) i call this hero... batman! (-"-)

what? it's been done? who... where... but i... aw heck! well, check out my car anyway:

(it's at www.subwayleap.com/images/photos/bat2.jpg)

22nd Mar 2003, 20:03

Hmm.. I wonder where the mines go  :D

Could be worse, could be the 60s batmobile :)

(that car was cool... but wierd... it looked like they changed the same button like a billion times to fit other purposes...)

I liked the crank under the siren!! THAT WAS COOL! You know, It released the (im guessing) 'Bat-Parachutes' (remember, its 'bat' something...) and then the car would do a 180degrees turn and continue on its journey...

Can you imagine that? Driving along the street... Oh No! I forgot my wallet!! pull 180 and heads back to the batcave :D

You never saw the radar thing much though... :( (bat ray?)

Did you guys see the ? movie with Adam West and Burt Ward? Where the batmobile was stolen and Adam & Burt need to find it, and the clues are in their 'past'...

It's kinda falls under the 'behind the scenes'/'directors cut'/'spoof'/'prelude'

It showed footage of how Batman started out on TV... Was funny and yet entertaining. I think its called something like 'The hidden adventures' or something....

23rd Mar 2003, 01:53
LOL @ Glamiss! Love the Batmobile.http://www.imagemagician.com/images/rook/wayfarer/anim-laughltblu.gif

I didn't really get a chance to watch the Batman movie thingy, Defender. I miss all the good stuff on TV.

I never did like Egghead.:p And I don't know what brought that to mind...

23rd Mar 2003, 05:31
batmobile perhaps? :)

Yah.. egghead was one of the most eggscrutiating characters of all time... The fact that he had to use eggsquisite use of eggs in any sentence was eggseptional...

:) (excrutiating, exquisite, exceptional...)

I prefered the 'original' group.. Joker, Catwoman, Penguin and Riddler...

Mr. Freeze was good... Mad hatter was freaky... I never understood 'The Puzzler' He was the same thing as the riddler... Only thing I could figgure out is maybe 'The Riddler' went on strike or got sick, so they used 'The Puzzler' to fill in the gaps...

But that doesnt wouldnt explain Catwoman.. There were 3 women who did Catwoman... So .. whats up with that???

And don't get me started on that utility belt! Robin had like the batcuffs and bat rope... thats all... Batman has everything in his..

Batcave was nice too.. I liked the poll :)

23rd Mar 2003, 23:22
LOL I was always amused by the fact that Batman had an appropriately dark costume, while Robin's costume was just about every wacky color that stands out in the dark. What was that all about? I think Batman played an evil trick on him by making sure that Robin's costume was enough of a visible giveaway that Robin would get beat up first while Batman had a chance to escape. Kinda sad that Robin never picked up on that...:o ;) :D

24th Mar 2003, 02:26
Do you remember the 'Batman Forever' movie? Richard Grayson's 'circus' costume is actually the old 60's robin costume. (ofcourse, it was tailored to fit Chris Odonel....)

Kinda gave the 'here comes robin' feel to the movie :)

EDITED: It won't let me right the 'nickname' of Richard .... It gets scensored out... **** Grayson is a name!!!! (well, fictional.. but still a name!!)

24th Mar 2003, 02:35
well, that's why dic k grayson's robin outfit was like that. he kept the colors to pay homage to his parents. bruce is of course smarter. like he tells clark all the time, he can't go around wearing flashy colors, or he'd be dead in minutes, without clark's superpowers. robin, on the other hand, i dunno... the impetuance of youth.

then jason todd kept the same costume after dic k moved on, but by the time d ick became nightwing and jason todd was killed, tim drake had some changes to the robin outfit, like the R shuriken, the black full-length cape with yellow lining, the better utility belt, the full boots instead of the ankle boots....

of course, as nightwing, di ck also started out with a large yellow bird on his chest, which he eventually / finally changed to blue.

unless you talk about the animated series, which uses the jason todd storyline (father worked for then killed by two-face) but with the tim drake name and outfit.

the animated series (serieses? multiple series...) had to change a lot of stuff for things like that though. like they couldn't show the death of jason todd... in superman, they made kyle rayner the person to get the green lantern ring instead of hal jordan from abin sur (because they can't show hal while using kyle as the current character in the comic, but they can't show hal ecoming parallax and wiping out the Corps, either)... bane breaking batman's back and azrael taking on the mantle... and while we know that bane is addicted to venom and uses the other version (the concentrated souped-up stuff), they can't mention that bruce was also addicted to it once. or the flash that's in the animated series (superman) / JLA, they haven't said WHO he is, but you can be sure it isn't barry allen (i forget the name of the current flash... i can think of all the other speedsters BUT him. weird). well, not 100%, but i'm pretty sure.

don't even get me started on pre-crisis stuff...

24th Mar 2003, 03:29
I only followed the 60s version and the animated serie... up to the point of 'the mask of the phantasm'.

Then i kinda skipped a few years... caught up with 'batman beyond'.. but it plays only in the early morning (2-3am...)...

I liked it.. nice high tech suit :)

25th Mar 2003, 06:39
Oooh, well it seems you both followed that stuff a lot more closely than me. I can't even remember the last time I saw an episode of the 60's Batman show, and I never could manage to keep up with most comic book or cartoon storylines. I'd always end up missing bits here and there. I'm mostly into the Spider-Man and X-Men cartoons from a few years ago anyway. I always wondered why Robin got the wacky, less-than-subtle costume, though.:D

Oh, and for the record, it's Dick Grayson. :p

25th Mar 2003, 07:55
I somewhat loss track of some series too (most of the time it was due to continuing reruns so i stopped watching ... but they sneaked in 2 or 3 episodes in that period of time... )

I still watch some cartoon shows. . Most cartoons I watch are Anime (DBZ) or 3D CGI (like Reboot, Action Man..)

I always found CGI Animation fascinating. There's supposed to be a prelude to the Matrix Reloaded (upcoming Matrix Sequel) thats fully CGI Animated (i.e computer generated 100%). I believe its shown only with the 'DreamCatcher' movie (looks like a bad remake of 'The Thing' )

25th Mar 2003, 08:22
Yeah, I stopped watching a lot of those cartoons because of all the reruns. Then I'd end up finding out that they were airing new episodes right about the time I stopped watching. That got annoying.

I don't really get to watch many cartoons anymore. I usually miss them for one reason or another. Glad I got quite a few of my X-Men and Spider-Man episodes on tape.:D

I heard "Dreamcatcher" sucked baaad, by the way. I personally lost interest in Stephen King books-to-film quite awhile ago. I did like "It," but that one is almost 12 years old!

26th Mar 2003, 02:28
Yah. I heard that too (dreamcatcher). But apparently, the movie that did worst (recently...) is the Gay Cruise movie (this black guy goes on what appears to be a 'naked cruise' and finds out they're all men...)). It made 3.7 million on its first week...

 now thats bad! That's probably Bill Gate's IRS Tax Report for a year!! :)

I also get annoyed when they do reruns lead you to stop watching, then they show new episodes... Its an evil plot!!

26th Mar 2003, 06:22
rook, how did you type his name without it getting censored? did you use color tags for every letter? :)
i follow the comics pretty closely... maybe too closely ;) and i EXCLUDE the movies (maybe they could be grouped under elseworlds)
now i collect all the bat titles (except azrael), peter parker: spider-man, the amazing spider-man, sometimes superman, sometimes green lantern, jla if the storyline intersects well with batman, i used to get all the cross-gen titles, tomb raider (of course), gijoe, transformers... lots & lots of stuff. well, i USED to. i haven't been able to afford my habit since mid-november :( at 3-5 bucks a pop, it gets kinda pricey.

i apologize for getting us so off-topic though ;)

It's true! It's gotta be an evil plot of some kind! I gave up on X-Men 'toons when they reran the reruns about a dozen times, then they started showing all new ones, and I missed a bunch of them. They, of course, never did rerun the ones I missed! AARGH!!

And comics have definitely gotten out of hand pricewise. (Then again, what hasn't? ) My biggest problem collecting them wasn't the price, though. It was more that I never could seem to find a shop around me that actually sold continuing storylines continually! I mean, if I bought issue #113 and it was in the middle of some storyline I really wanted to read more of, the next issue I'd be able to get my hands on would be #117! So I pretty much gave up on that and now I just buy the ones that involve my favorite particular X-characters, or the comics with the best artwork in them. I'm easy to please. Just give me eye candy...:D

As for the name, yeah, I broke it up with color tags. If you hit the quote button on that post, you'll see them. Incidentally, you can also do that by editing the color code and making it black, but it seems like it would be simpler just to write Richard, or whatever. I don't make a practice of circumventing the censor, but if it's a guy's actual name, good grief!

I don't think anything here stays on topic very long anyway. http://www.imagemagician.com/images/rook/magneticstorms/greenjester.gif

Its the wheel of topics :) Here's your host, Rook!

crowd cheering

28th Mar 2003, 07:38
LOL The superhero thread has turned into a gameshow. "I'll take Classic Superheros for $200, Alex." Can't you just hear the Jeopardy theme music? :D

I'm still trying to think up a decent concept for a superhero of my own, by the way. Originality just isn't coming to me at the moment..... :o

28th Mar 2003, 20:18
Really? Improvising is somewhat one of my strong points (well, was..)

I remember back in high school (before I got sick.. 9th grade..), Our Drama teacher gave us homework where we had a week to make a sketch (em.. acting sketch and not a drawing..) and we would have to present it to the rest of the class (it had to be in gibberish also... so when we 'talked' we couldnt say 'words' but we still had to make it so people would somewhat understand what the sketch is about..)

I completley forgot to do it, and .. ofcourse, I was the first to do it! :( (thats why its a good thing to do the homework.. :) )

I had to think of what to do and i just put it together as i went along with it... I got an A+ :)

(i acted out someone who's tire got deflated and calls the towing service and explains to the guy what happend...).

So I got an A+ for the sketch, but I think its cause of my Improvisation :) I did kinda do this on the spot you know ;)

Atleast it was in the right class :)

31st Mar 2003, 05:05
I've never been good at coming up with well-rounded characters--or story plots, for that matter. Pity, since I do like to write stories. And I'm certainly no good at on-the-spot improvisation, particularly in front of large groups of people. I just sort of crawl into a corner and hide in those situations.

Kidding.;) I'm not that badly off...yet...:D

31st Mar 2003, 19:51
I dont think someone starts off as "completley comfortable" with taking in large groups (aka speeches). I know I'm not :D I try to avoid speaking in large groups entirely :)

I just my internet going. My Cat decided to make a meal out of my internet cable :) (the wire that connects my computer to our hub... Its like this; "cable modem"-to-"hub", "hub"-to-"computers" (we got 3 computers; so its "hub"-to-"comp1","comp2" & "comp3")

"hub"-to-"comp1" was eaten thru by my cat...

So it wasnt that bad.. my dad and my sis could still use the net, but not me... :(

Oh weel, I'm back and im kicking! :)

2nd Apr 2003, 07:27
***dodges Defender's flying foot***

Ay! Watch it there!:p

Nah, I'm kinda lucky not having any pets. Don't have to worry about that stuff. I just end up worrying about everything else instead--and I've only got the one computer to contend with. Thankfully nobody else has a use for it. :)

3rd Apr 2003, 00:32
Then you're missing out on something :)

Pets are amazing, im just a little paranoid.

They walk next to the window, I keep.. em? Picturing them falling out the window.. We're on the 4th floor you see... I know "cats always land on their feet (paws)" But how far can they safely land?

One of my cats fell off the fridge and didn't quite make it in time. She was ok, but didnt land on her paws....

Eugh. Comes with the territory I guess :)

3rd Apr 2003, 05:18
Well, I've had them before: cats, dogs, fish, mice, snakes, hamsters, rabbits...there are probably a few I'm forgetting... I just don't have any at the moment. We've thought about getting another dog, though. I just helped my mom get one a few weeks ago. :)

5th Apr 2003, 16:00
Heh :)

Noah's Arc :D

5th Apr 2003, 23:26
LOL Probably would have seemed that way if I had had all of those animals at once. But they were separated by a number of years (and the mice and hamsters only live a couple of years anyway)...:D

Speaking of which, maybe I need a superhero with animal attributes--like Wolverine. Still thinking, though.....:o :)

6th Apr 2003, 23:45
Only thing Wolverine has like animals is his claws (thats what they call them? right? the things that come out of his knuckles).

Well. The "Wolv" part of his name is close to "Wolf" .. (well... I guess its as close Wolv is to Wolf as to Worf is to Wolf... :D )

I had 4 cats. 1 when I was very young (before 5years old) and 3 now. We got 1 in ? 98 (the year of the ice storm). another one in 99 or late 98 and got one in 2001.

So we got 3 cats right now. All female.. All curious.. All awake 24/7 :)

10th Apr 2003, 09:01
Well, Wolverine does have those heightened senses, too. I think he's basically got the same abilities as Sabretooth.

Oh, and here's a real wolverine for ya.:D

Last time I had any pets, they were dwarf hamsters, and they were mean little biters!! :o :D

10th Apr 2003, 16:25
i wonder if anyone's ever tried dressing up a REAL wolverine like the x-men (comics, not movies) wolverine... hehehhee

11th Apr 2003, 04:24
They don't seem quite friendly enough to put up with that. In any case, that is an amusing mental image, a real wolverine in that funky yellow getup.:D

11th Apr 2003, 04:45
The Wolverine (animal, not x-men) looks like a racoon?? :-/

Whats funny about the xmen commics and the movie (the first one). Wolverine says, when they get in the jet/plane/whatever you call it... "Atleast it's not yellow spandex"

shivers at a real person dressed in such a odd costume

It works fine in comic books... but in the real world?

11th Apr 2003, 18:40
a wolverine is more like a badger (than it is like a raccoon), i think... although i guess raccoons are too kinda. but wolverines are more vicious.

i loved that line in x-men. i don't think anyone would speak badly of someone in real life who had an adamantium skeleton and claws dressed up in spandex ;) it also depends on how it's done... superman looks good in it. batman would if tey'd ever do it RIGHT. spider-man looks good in it... it's usually when it's done on tv or movies an the directors or costume departments screw it up, it usually looks like some fan-boy with little skills put it together.

but it's also easier in comics to give it the mood shading required to make it look cool :) uniform lighting in a comic would just be drawings on a page...

but if you look at that picture, the highlights off the lighter fur are kinda yellow-ish. maybe that's why they made it brown and yellow for a while in the comic, and then later changed it to black & yellow.
actually in "birds of prey", on the dubya-b, they did batgirl's outfit VERY well. and what little they showed of batman's in the first episode, that was pretty good too. as i recall, he didn't have the stupid crappy rubber armor of the movies. i don't think the cape that actor was wearing as quite heavy enough, and it wouldn't have borne his weight as ANY kind of parachute.

12th Apr 2003, 00:50
Yah. I also liked the B.O.P's take on the Batgirl costume. Makes me think of the animated series's batgirl costume (with the kid as robin. Forgot his name.. ? Grayson left for some reason and became? Night Wing was it?)

12th Apr 2003, 03:52
yeah that's what i meant. the animated series batgirl costume is basically unchanged form the barbara gordon batgirl costume in the comics, which is way it's good. batman's is the same, too (it only looks blue in comics because that's a shading trick used to give highlights to black -- that's why veronica has blue streaks in her hair in archie comics).

dick left from being robin and later to nightwing because he just started to have a falling out with bruce. teenage rebellion-type thing, wanted to find his own way, etc etc etc.

12th Apr 2003, 19:32
Ah. I thought the 60's batman was based on the comic books...

Cause Batgirl's costume in that show was wierd...

12th Apr 2003, 21:24
the 60s batman was based on the 60s comics. that was weird in and of itself (the comics). the batman from the 40s was semi-cheesy, but at least there was still a dark feel about the storylines. and the ones from the 30s were crime / drama, so they were pretty dark too. and then everyone started this happy-feely crap in the late 50s through most of the 60s, and that translated across to everything. they decided to go with the idea that comics are only for kids, and so started making them that way, while before the storylines were drawn out and intricate.

then in the early-to-mid-70s the batman books started getting darker again, culminating with dick leaving and bruce getting meaner as a result, and then by the 80s jason todd coming in and then eventually getting killed, and so on.

so, in essence, the 60s series and the 60s comics were a dark dark time in the history of the storylines... but not a good dark. maybe i should say it was a dork dork time.

the closest thing you'll ever see on tv (to the comics) about the bat is the animated series.

13th Apr 2003, 04:19
Jason Todd??

All batmans I know off (aside from "Bruce Wayne" is "Terry" from Batman Beyond. Wicked Show.. Gotta get me THAT batsuit :) )

50s? 40s?? 30s?!?!?!

Em.. How old are you? :D

I was -33, -43 or -53 years old!! :D

Dont suppose you know who wrote the first comic book? :D

You know lots about this stuff... All I really know about comic books is that the #1 issue is valuable. :)

Well.. That and Stan Lee apears in his comic book -to- movie versions...

In Spiderman, he appears at the festival right after the cop reaches for his radio (the one on his shoulder). You can only see him for a split second..

In DareDevil (saw this in one of the trailers). He's walking along the road reading a newspaper and gets stopped by ?? The SuperHero as a kid guy... Then a bus flies pass em. He looks shocked.

Thats about it for movie stuff.. I hear that there's a Hulk movie in the works... (saw that at the spider-man movie.. the movie previews before the actual "featured presentation" starts..)

13th Apr 2003, 05:19
>Jason Todd??
we discussed this above :) when dick left, jason todd became the next robin. his dad was employed by and then killed by two-face. then after that, dc had a whole big "call in and vote on the fate of jason todd" and most of the people didn't like him, so the readers voted to have him killed off, so the joker killed him. (death in the family storyline -- look for the trade paperback in stores!) then later, tim drake figured out that bruce was batman, and later signed on as robin.

then after THAT, bruce met up with bane, and bane broke his back, because he cheated -- he relesed all the arkham inmates and batman ran hmself ragged trying to get them all back under control. then bane came in while batman was way too tired to fight and beat him. then dick became nightwing and azrael was the bat for a short time, until bruce healed up, came back, and kicked his butt. (knightfall, knightquest, and knights-end story arcs... except knightquest isn't available in trade paperback :( i'm STILL searching for issues from that arc)

that was 1993 i think, and at the same time, doomsday killed superman and hal jordan went crazy and killed the whole green lantern corps, and ganthet, the last guardian, made kyle the new green lantern. kind of a re-vamp of all the storylines. then the current superboy was cloned from superman's dna, and steel made some armor in homage to superman -- hence, the beginning of two new heroes (except i think something's happened to steel since november, i'm not sure)

or was dick nightwing before that... i forget. shortly before that, at any rate. and he got the name nightwing from superman. it was the name of a hero in kryptonian legend / mythology.

and then after all that, hal (previously green lantern, now parallax) decided to try to change time, and aquaman ended up losing his hand in the end of that -- hence the shirtless, bearded aquaman with the hook. i'm not exactly sure when green arrow died.

in the batman cartoon, they skip jason todd and go to tim drake, but they give him the non-death storylne of jason todd (dad employed by & then killed by two-face, etc), for the same reason they had to skip barbara getting shot & paralyzed by the joker.

>Em.. How old are you?
isn't that in my profile? 29 now :) but i always feel like i'm 22. and when i was 22 i still felt like i was 18. i stopped collecting comics in about 1989 or 1990, and then around 95 i used to just get the "elseworlds" comics (gotham by gaslight is my favorite). but then with the advent of the earthquake, i started collecting again in mid 1999 (no man's land story arc), and then i had to go back and get the ones i was missing that i wished i would have had (knightquest). i haven't been able to buy any since november though :'( that's why i dunno what's going on with steel.

the first comic book ever? :)

they've already started a huge toy push for the hulk. action figures and the like, but the best thing that's been going in the stores are these huge foam hulk fists that have batteries in them, so they make noise :) everyone loves 'em, they're so great. i want to get them and wear them to sparring in kara-te ;) hehehe

batman beyond was a good show. i wish they would have kept making new ones.

Hmm.... That sounds like **** greyson in Batman Forever (Chris O'Donnell). His family was killed by Two-Face... You know, at the circus. When they tried to get the bomb out of the tent to save everyone...

Yah. I also know of all the "collectors" stuff... If you keep a popular toy, or basicly anything in mint (is that how its spelled for this meaning??) condition for a few years, the value of that object will/would increase.

Some people think its crazy... But some people out there got all their money from keeping this "junk" !!!!

Keeping an old toy is worth alot more than keeping the newspaper :D

EDITED: Ok. I give up!! I tried to write d.i.c.k greyson alot of times and it gets censored!!!!!! Bah!!! runs and kicks the computer hard

Oh! Also, check out this site for you video gamers!!

Watch the trailer :)

Kinda makes me wish I would have kept all of my old Star Wars toys (and my uncle's) from when I was a kid. Can't even imagine how much all that stuff would be worth now. I had the Ewok village thingy, and some of the action figures (though I never did seem to get my hands on any of the main characters), and God only knows what all else. I think my mom threw all that stuff away. She was notorious for doing that sort of thing. :o

i'm not trying to censor bypass here, but for cripes sake, it's his name! so:
dick = dick except without the spaces.

so anyway.. i never watched anything past the 2nd batman movie. i wasn't even going to see THAT, considering how bad the first one was, but i decided to give it a chance. at least it had christopher walken :)

they haven't really said, but i think there's a 12 or 13 yr difference between bruce & dick. bruce wasn't batman for too long before d's parents were killed (in the actual storylines, comics), and he adopted him, and then depending on the writer, d was anywhere between 8 and 12.

later in back-stories (where they show you what happened) it's pretty much generalized that there was a short period where he (bruce) was going out at night as batman while d wondered why he was never around. and then for some reason he (dick) found out or was let in on the secret, i can't remember which that was. and depending on which writer was given the story: some of them, the mobster who was trying to squeeze the circus for "protection" money and then put acid on the trapeze ropes was working for himself (mafia), and some writers have THAT guy employed by two-face (and in that scenario, it would have had to have been VERY shortly after he had the acid hurled in his face)

Hmm.. In the movies, it shows .. em? Harvey Dent? (Two-face before he was two-face)... Being attacked by a crowd with an acid covered piece of paper...

Also.. if im not mistaken.. Harvey Dent was the DA in the first Batman movie (played by Keaton). I think he was a lawyer in the animated series (with bruce as batman... when the animated series started off.... The batcave entrance behind the grandfather clock...)

As for dick greyson's story.. I think thats the part thats more consistent between the comic books and the movies!!! :D.. Parents killed at circus by Two-Face or someone who works for him...

you can also use color=black .... might be easier :)

EDITED: Hmm.. I think this is topic that stayed on the same subject for the longest time!! Super-heros :) Yay!!

yes, two-face's real name is harvey dent. he was the district attorney for quite a while until he helped to put away someone in the mob, and that person threw acid in his face at trial.

he was usually quite a good man, but had a very bad temper, which showed rarely... the fact that he was both bruce's friend and batman's friend as harvey makes him a very very tragic villain :(

Yah. Very tragic... Being both Bruce's and Batman's friend..

Then he turns into half-good, half-evil with the evil half in control. (you see this in the Batman Forever movie, when he sits down to eat at his lair).

So he's both their friend and enemy.

Their being Bruce and Batman... Em?? does "their" apply here? They're two different people but the same person...
Two people.. same person.. two people.. same person.. TWO PEOPLE.. SAME PERSON..!!!!

Ok.. im getting a big headache right now :D

hehehe. the "their" very much applies. there're lots of storylines in the bat comics that deal with his split personae... although really, bruce wayne is an act, and batman is the real identity

Obviously. They spent more time on Batman in a day than on Bruce wayne in a month!!

Talking about comic books and TV shows or movies... Well.. More like TV shows or movies..

They probably just made one of those "thought bubbles" which explained who he is and why he's a super hero for the comic books...
