This (http://www.tombraiders.net/stella/downloads.html#winxp2000) is what Stella says..... ;)

btw You should have posted this is the TR related forums, and not in the off topic forum... ;)

Works fine. See http://www.glidos.net. Even if you don't want to use Glidos, there are instructions as to how to make it work in software graphics mode.

Tomb Raider 1 Does not work in XP as it is a 64bit OS. However Core has released a patch or XP and you can find it at Croft Site Web Site

http://www.cubeit.com/ctimes/

But I did not find this patch to work either, but you could too try.

For some odd reason that TR1 Demo version seems to work fine in XP!

Honestly it works on XP. There can be problems that are to do with VESA support provided by some graphics card drivers, but there are work arounds.

The 64bit thing is a red herring. Windows 2000 and XP provide a DOS emulator called ntvdm (NT Virtual DOS Machine). It is not perfect, but it is plenty good enough to support TR1.

The Glidos site has detailed instructions explainging how to get around the problmes that sometimes arise. http://www.glidos.net

Nope. Sadly Windows XP won't run TR-1 because this game was DOS based and XP no longer recognize DOS. That's one of the major disadvantages with XP. Its OS platform is very stable and reliable but it won't read or run DOS based programs. The only way to run DOS programs is to use a dual boot system. It's a big headache to set up but it maybe the only way to run TR-1 or any other DOS programs.

Tomb Raider ONE (and all TR games) WILL RUN perfectly under Windows XP and 2000 and you don't need any special patches or anything.

I don't know why all these Tomb Raider sites insist on peddling bogust patches instead of just telling people this. Click below for instructions. It's as simple installing VDMSound for DOS sound and typing 3 commands.

E:\>dosdrv
