View Full Version :
Chris@Crystal - Some force-ful questions...

Divine Shadow

Hey Chris, a few questions here, I hope you don't mind.

Blincoln spotted this in Blood Omen 2, specifically, parked in the Industrial Quarter.

http://mappster.homestead.com/files/wars/cog.jpg

I think we all know what the above is...:

http://mappster.homestead.com/files/wars/tie.jpg

This, DARTH VADER'S TIE FIGHTER parked in Nosgoth, is a revelation. I see the games in a different light now, and have many many questions..:

QUESTION ONE - What is Darth Vader's TIE FIGHTER doing in Nosgoth? Has Darth Vader crashed here? Or, is the Sith Lord on a scouting mission for the Empire, for a possible Stormtrooper invasion?

QUESTION TWO - As the pictures show:

http://mappster.homestead.com/files/wars/2.jpg

The games greatly hint that Moebius the Time Streamer and The Emperor/Darth Sidious are the same person. They both look remarkably similar, they both wear similar robes, both are capable of producing holograms, and both are complete and utter gits. Also, most importantly, aha, they have never been in the same place at the same time! So Chris, could you clear this up once and for all please. Are they the same person?

If so, then what is The Emperor doing on Nosgoth, pretending to be a time-streamer? Presumably, it has something to do with the presence of Darth Vader.

QUESTION THREE

http://mappster.homestead.com/files/wars/3.jpg

It is obvious that Blood Omen 1 Vorador is a Wookie. Why did Janos choose to turn a Wookie into a vampire, instead of a human? Is Vorador related to the famous rebel pilot Chewbacca?

QUESTION FOUR

http://mappster.homestead.com/files/wars/4.jpg

Kain has the ability to use Force Lightning, a skill only Dark Side Jedis (SITH LORDS!) can have. When did Kain turn to the Dark Side of the Force? Is this anything to do with Moebius/The Emperor, or the yet unseen presence of Darth Vader?

QUESTION FIVE - In Soul Reaver 1, Raziel uses both FORCE projectiles and the FORCE Glyph. He is using the FORCE all the time! My question is this, When did Raziel officially become a Jedi?

QUESTION SIX

http://mappster.homestead.com/files/wars/6.jpg

Why do the Hylden worship the Death Star (mk. 1)? Pictures of it are everywhere in The Device and The Hylden City. Perhaps a deal was struck with Moebius/Emperor Palpatine?

QUESTION SEVEN

http://mappster.homestead.com/files/wars/7.jpg

Why on Nosgoth is Yoda leading the Cabal? And why so tall, he seems to have put on six feet!

-------

That's all for now Chris, and I understand that these questions could lead to major spoilers for Soul Reaver Episode III. So, I don't mind if its another 'All will be revealed in time'.

Thanks a lot. And may the force be with you.

Devine Shadow,
You have found us out. And we thought no one would. Due to our strict agreement with Lucas Arts, I can only answer questions in a yes/no manner.
Here are some answers to your questions:
1. What is Darth Vader's TIE FIGHTER doing in Nosgoth?
Yes
2. What is The Emperor doing on Nosgoth, pretending to be a time-streamer?
No
3. Why did Janos choose to turn a Wookie into a vampire, instead of a human?
Yes
4. When did Kain turn to the Dark Side of the Force?
Yes
5. When did Raziel officially become a Jedi?
Yes
6.Why do the Hylden worship the Death Star?
No
7. Why on Nosgoth is Yoda leading the Cabal?
Yes

In actuality, Yoda is not the leader of the Cabal, although I do think jedi powers might be at work in Nosgoth. We here at Crystal Dynamics have watched Star Wars a few too many times, but you have found similarities we did not even realize were there.
Thanks for making me smile today. :)

Hehehehehe!

Thank you Chris, for being such a good sport, and for giving us those answers!

So, Lord Vader IS in Nosgoth, but his boss, Emperor Palpatine, is NOT Moebius. Vorador IS a Wookie, and Kain HAS turned to the Dark Side of the Force. Raziel IS a Jedi, the Hylden do NOT Worship the Death Star, and YODA IS BO2 VORADOR! (though not the leader of the Cabal)

"Not need any false curtesies from you Kain, I do."

Soul Reaver Episode III sounds like it is going to be an absolute hoot! Darth Vader (The Dark Forces, obviously an abbreviation for The-Dark-Side-Of-The-Force(s)) is going to be a truly great advesary. And, we don't know who human Raziel's biological father is....

Thanks again Chris! Now, get Kurt Harland, Jim Hedges and Michael Peaslee working on there own mix of Imperial March for SR3!

LOL Funny stuff that is, Divine Shadow! I never put any of that together, with the exception of the Vorador/Yoda thing. Vorador, as far as looks go, always reminded me of Yoda. And, of course, they both live in the swamp.http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung/grinser/grinser018.gif

Unfortunately Shadow, you shouldn't be reading this again until AFTER you receive Defiance, however I simply couldn't resist reviving your old thread. ;)

I STRONGLY URGE THAT THOSE WHO HAVE NOT PLAYED AND/OR COMPLETED DEFIANCE TO STOP READING NOW.

Without further adieu, on with the program. :D

QUESTION EIGHT: If you recall from Episode I and II, Nute Gunray and Rune Haako were the mischevious Neimoidian Trade Federation officials...

Click to View Exhibit 1B - Nute Gunray (http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/nutegunray/index.html)
Click to View Exhibit 1B-a - Rune Haako (http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/runehaako/index.html)

Defiance clearly presents the original Ancient Guardians as being Neimoidian members of the Trade Federation and indentifies both Rune and Nute amongst their ranks. Can you confirm that the Ancients were in cahoots with the Sith (specifically Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine/Moebius)? More importantly, does this confirm that The Elder God is the master-of-all Sith?
QUESTION NINE: In Return of the Jedi, we witnessed an awe-inspiring battle between Jedi Luke Skywalker, and Jabba The Hutt's most prized possession, the Rancor...

Exhibit 2B - The Rancor (http://www.starwars.com/databank/creature/rancor/index.html)

Come on, guys; A pit beneath a temple? A big ugly monster that receives sacrifices from above? It smells funny, it's mean, it's pretty powerful. It's obvious Turel is a Rancor not a bat. Does this confirm that Nosgoth is actually the homeworld of the Rancor species and NOT Dathomir as was previously believed?

The force is strong with Crystal Dynamics. :D

Priceless. LOLOLOLOLOLOL!

I had a feeling those Ancient Guardians in Defiance looked familliar... and the Hylden symbol too. Oh man, my eyes are tearing, this is so funny. ::gathers up all of the games and starts playing again to find any more uncanny reminders:: Unfortunatly, I can't find any good screen caps from Defiance...

It's got me!! - Sarlacc (http://www.starwars.com/databank/creature/sarlacc/index.html)
Is it me, or did the daring escape Raziel made from the clutches of the Elder God in Defiance remind you of Lando's encounter with the Sarlacc pit

Love it. Fabulous stuff there, Divine Shadow. I noticed the downed TIE Interceptor, the Death Star-looking Hylden glyph, and Kain's purple lightning but that Moebius + Palpatine comparison... I never saw that coming. :D
Instead of the Neimoidians, however, I was reminded of the creepy Imperial dignitaries (http://cgi.theforce.net/theforce/multimedia/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Images/Classic_Trilogy/Characters/Emperor_Palpatine/Return_of_the_Jedi&image=emp_digs.jpg&img=&tt=) when I first saw the Ancient Pillar Guardians. :p

Umah Bloodomen

Divine Shadow
27th Dec 2003, 02:40
Wow, I DIDN'T expect to see this thread ressurected, almost Raziel like from the swirling abyss of the lower pages. Thanks Umah for bringing it back!

The REALLY unfair thing is though that I'm only in Chapter 3, and can't highlight any spoilers. Drat drat and double drat. But I will be back on Defiance's completion to see what you've asked.

Maybe with some more questions of my own. I mean, WHERE is the Emperor? Or Chewie, Han, Vader, Obi-Wan or Leia!? I could understand you saving Emperor Palpatine to for the later levels, I mean he's a blooming Scene Stealer, but the others? Come on, its Chapter Three, one of the characters should have been in it?

Maybe I'm missing something.....

And don't get me started on Turelzevir's lack of presence...

though I've already figured out that the person Moebius is talking to in the cave is none other than HIM

I picked Frank the Sexy Sluagh out though. :p

Divine Shadow
27th Dec 2003, 04:03
Umah -

Frank asked me, well, he passed me a note because he never speaks, but he was so touched that you remembered him, and spotted him in Defiance, he wanted to thank you with a signed photo:

Frank's autograph (http://members.aol.com/mappsimon/f1.jpg)

He didn't do a bad job considering he has only three claws and holds the pen in his jaws, but hey, I'm so jealous.

Frank NEVER gave me a signed photo. Ever.

Umah Bloodomen
27th Dec 2003, 04:06
That Frank. What a sweet (and sexy) sluagh. (He makes ol' Biscuit jealous you know?) :p

I might have to display that on my site if Frankie is up to it. ;)

Hiya Peeps,

Im not a Star Wars fan, then again I have never watched a single episode but Im thankful to Divine Shadow who was gracious to provide his findings with us. Its interesting to learn of the creators inspiration for continuing the legacy and seeing how it has evolved and where certain "coincidences" came from.

Hope theres more to uncover about CD that Chris is probably hiding away in his big trench coat :p.
