I am sorry to hear this Chloe. Six years ago I had a cat named 'charley' who was always there when I came home, waiting for me. One day she was not there to greet me and so wondering where she may be, I happened to look out of the kitchen window and saw her 'asleep' on the lawn.

It had been quite a hot day and she was lying in direct sunlight so I started to worry. I went outside and as I picked her up she just flopped over; it was then I knew something was wrong.

I carried her inside and lay her on the cool kitchen floor hoping that would help, however she simply let out a little half hearted meow and died there in my arms. I never knew what caused her death and can only assume that she must have taken in something poisonous.

I was actually living on my own at that time and so found myself really alone for the first time in my life. She is sadly missed, however I feel she is now without the pain of life and so I am happy for her.

I believe an appropriate name might be 'Ami', it is French for friend. :)

Yuri and Shep send their sympathies.
This seems to be a horrible trend around here lately - people losing their pets.
I think the name Piper is pretty cool for a cat, but I would wait until I've actually met the kitty and gotten to know it before naming. The kitty's
personality may influence it's namiing.

Sorry for your loss :( I agree with the Deekman, I like both your names but wait and see which one suits kitty best
