The overwhelmingly well-thought out and intelligent posts  on this forum lately prompt a Gentle Reminder on etiquette and proper Eidos-bashing technique.

Opinions are welcome when they actually have some thought behind them. Simple-minded tripe gets deleted and your account gets disabled for breaking the rules that you agreed to follow when signing up for the account to begin with. Email me that you're sorry and won't do it again, and I'll restore your account. Once. Failing to follow The Rules after that gets your soul in trouble with your maker, because you know better.

And those Rules would be...

Eidos Interactive Community Rules

We welcome you to participate inthe Eidos Interactive Community, however as with all social circles there are afew rules you must abide by in order to maintain your active membership withinthese message boards.

We are trying to provide the highest quality Community experience for all of our members and following these guidelines is the best way to maintain a quality environment for all age groups. There is not a warning system for violators. If we find that you break any of these rules, your account will be disabled and your posting privileges will be removed. These rules are very basic and we hope that you read them fully. Thanks for your cooperation.

No Pornographic or Sexually suggestive Material. Any sexually oriented imagery or links to such content will not be tolerated. Additionally, sexually suggestive discussions are not acceptable to our community.

No Warez or Illegal Software. This includes linking to software, posting about it, and suggesting getting it. Posting such information may also result in your posting privileges being revoked. Furthermore, we will not tolerate postings that encourage people to violate copy protection by referring them to sites that have copy protection codes publicized. Any such post will be removed from our forums and your membership and posting privileges will be revoked as soon as we find the offensive post.

No Cursing or Swearwords. We encourage you to use our Communities as a forum to debate topics, but please use proper adjectives to express yourself. This includes the creative use of different characters to circumvent our censor.

No Attacks / Retaliation of any kind against a member, or group of members. You will not harass, threaten, embarrass, or do anything else to another Member or guest that is unwanted. This means: don't say bad things about them, don't keep sending them unwanted messages, don't attack their race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc.

No FAO (for the attenion of) posts: You will refrain from having personal discussions or "for the attention of" post with other board members. Please use the Private Message feature of the board for this purpose.

No impersonations. Do not attempt to impersonate other forum members, and forum moderators/administrators. Such an attempt will not be successful and it is an offense that will get you banned from the forums -no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Out of courtesy to other forum users and moderators we expect you to use only one username on our forums. Please do not post email addresses, standard addresses, ICQ and other messaging client numbers, or phone numbers which are not your own.

No abusive language. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this Forum to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. Hate speech is not tolerated. We will not tolerate abuse upon another member!

No Advertising or promotions. You will not post topics or messages that solicit or promote any commercial concern or transmit advertising, promotional materials, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or make any commercial use of our Service.

No Off-topic postings. Posts in a particular forum need to stay on topic (i.e. about the game specifically). If you want to talk about something that is drastically removed from the topic of a forum, please take it to Community Chat. Community Chat was set up and designed for members to discuss issues not related to a specific game title. We welcome most general conversation in the Community Chat, but discourage it from the game forums.

Signatures Please note that signatures must be no larger than 150 pixels high x 450 pixels wide and have a file size no greater than 30KB. This size restriction applys to pictures and text. There can only be two lines of text included with a picture. No signature picture can include any copyrighted material, unless you can prove you hold said copyright or proof of permission from the copyright holder. Public domain pictures are acceptable. Signature pictures will not contain any material that is inappropriate. (see above) We or our forum leaders will have final determination as to what is appropriate.

No spamming. Spamming is characterized by the initiation of threads or posts that contribute nothing to a forum, be it off topic or on topic. Examples include: empty bodies, bodies with few words that have no relation to the current thread or discussion and those posts that state they are Spam, either to annoy or increase a member's post count. This determination is made by the forum Moderator or Administrator and is not up for discussion.

No "Slam" postings. We have zero tolerance for "slam" postings to our boards. By slam postings, we mean posts that make statements such as, "This product is horrible. No one should buy it." Those postings will be removed from our site, as will any posting that refers to your fellow board users, our moderators, our developers, Eidos Interactive or even our competitors in a derogatory manner.

If a member feels that these rules have been violated there is a link on each topic to report the offensive post to a moderator or administrator.

Our forums are moderated and moderators hold the right of closing or deleting a thread they feel is inappropriate. Once a topic is closed, members are not allowed to start new ones with the same topic or to question why a specific thread has been closed.
All questions or remarks regarding closed or deleted threads must be e-mailed privately to the moderator who performed this action. Further any discussion of these rules is to be held through the Administrators or Moderators, via e-mail, and not on the forums themselves.

If you don't like these rules, please don't post. If you break these rules, we reserve the right to revoke your posting privileges. Remember, posting here is a privilege and not a right.

Enjoy yourself. The board is intended to talk about Eidos Games and Products. You can have a great time posting and we look forward to your feedback.

Legal Statement

Eidos Interactive takes no responsibility for the content, links to or use of the content of the messages posted on this board, nor do we endorse the opinions of the authors. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eidos Interactive, Inc., and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).

I guess some people on this forum don't understand what this portion says. You should make this thread a part-time sticky.

man, seems like these forums have slowed down quite a bit ever since this topic was posted....interesting....

25th Aug 2002, 16:49
No one likes posted at an over censored/monitored forum. I want to use simple cuss words. As long as I can type badass cyborg, I will be happy.

27th Aug 2002, 22:04
Well, i'll do my post to continue posting without going off the deep end. Cursing, spamming and breaking all sorts of rules. I don't want that at all, seriously.

grey mouser :D

i completly agree with your approach and think you should publish a "kill list" of banned fools that tried your patience and lost this might shut some of them up as most abusive comments that remain posted seem to be caused by people who think it happens to somebody else

by the way the ts2 web site has been updated and now has all time zones and levels displayed an all of their glory exept the pictures of the weapons ( the names of the weapons are still there)

one final point....grey mouser you are official so when will it hit the strrets ?

30th Sep 2002, 21:46
it ships from indianapolis indiana on Tuesday October 8th...

(Grey Mouser emailed me the info) and it is a firm date

1st Oct 2002, 12:35
Indiana is closer to Ohio than LA or where ever these guys are located! I just might find this game on the shelves the day it is released to about 2 days after it is released. That is if no one else around here knows of it. Most people in my school have no clue as to what TS2 is! Most of them are fans of sports games and personally, sports games (racing, football, baseball, etc.) are boring. I like them shoot everything in sight games:D

P.S. I'm not a violent person, but I can be when I'm agitated.
