Hi I just need some confirmation.
This is the last line of my missflag.str

miss_20:"b20 ,no_loadout,c20 ,end"

Have I done it right? Cos I don't want to upload it twice

Thanks

Uh... my subconcious first reaction to this is: "that looks wrong."

Before you upload, go and check out i.e. CL's file to see how it is done. I am relatively sure that it's not the movie names there, but only "cutscene" or so.

Just checked it out:

miss_20: "no_loadout,cutscene,end"

Should be it, if it has a briefing, no loadout, a cutscene, and is the last. At least, I think so.

Thanks Guys,
Frobber sent me an email so It's sorted now;)

Here's what he told me (just for future searches)

Here are some statements that should help you...

1. By default a briefing is played and there is no need to specify an AVI name.
2. A briefing will not be played if the AVI is missing, or no_briefing is stated.
3. Briefing files are b##.avi
4. Cutscene files are cs##.avi (not as you have it).
5. Cutscenes are not played by default.
6. To play a cutscene after "mission complete" add the cutscene tag.
7. To play the cutscene in place of "mission complete" use the endmovie method shown above.
8. When using the endmovie method, do not add the cutscene tag.
9. no_loadout omits the equipment store.

Here are two possible statements that should work for you:

For no equipment store, a normal briefing at the beginning, and cutscene
after "mission complete":
-------------------------------------
miss_20: "no_loadout,cutscene,end"

For no equipment store, a normal briefing at the beginning, and cutscene
REPLACING "mission complete":
-------------------------------------
miss_20: "no_loadout,end"

miss_20_endmovie: "cs20"

In all cases for mission 20 your briefing should be called b20.avi and your
cutscene cs20.avi, and these should be placed in the MOVIES folder.

Hope that helps.

Let's try a more cleaned-up version...
---------------------------------
First of all this thread pertains the Missflag.str file located in the ..\strings folder. And it mainly pertains to methods for playing a cutscene, which in Thief refers to a movie played after the mission goals are met. There are two ways to play a cutscene. The first plays it after the "mission complete" mini-movie. The second way plays it INSTEAD of the "mission complete" mini-movie.

Just to be complete, let me supply all of the possible commands in the Missflag.str file...

// skip ---------This mission doesn't exist; it should be skipped.
// no_briefing --Skip the briefing movie
// no_loadout --Skip the loadout = no 'equipment store'
// cutscene-----Play a cutscene after "mission complete"
// miss_##_endmovie: "cs##" ---Play a cutscene in place of "mission complete"
// - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -(at end with blank line between)
//
// end-----------End the game when this mission is completed

Here is my Missflag.str file for Hallucinations...

miss_1: "skip"
miss_2: "skip"
miss_3: "skip"
miss_4: "skip"
miss_5: "skip"
miss_6: "skip"
miss_7: "skip"
miss_8: "skip"
miss_9: "skip"
miss_10: "skip"
miss_11: "skip"
miss_12: "skip"
miss_13: "skip"
miss_14: "skip"
miss_15: "skip"
miss_16: "skip"
miss_17: "skip"
miss_18: "skip"
miss_19: "no_loadout"
miss_20: "no_briefing,no_loadout,end"

miss_19_endmovie: "cs19"
miss_20_endmovie: "cs20"

1. I do not have an equipment store for either mission 19 or 20.

2. I have a briefing movie (frobber logo) before mission 19.

3. I don't have a briefing before mission 20.

4. For both missions I play a cutscene in place of the "mission complete" mini-movie.

Here are some statements about briefings and cutscenes that should help...

1. All briefing and cutscene movies are stored in the ..\MOVIES folder.

2. Briefing files are named b##.avi -- for example: b20.avi

3. Cutscene files are cs##.avi -- for example: cs20.avi

4. By default a briefing movie is played if it exists, and there is no need to specify anything in the Missflag.str statements. Just create the briefing movie, name it correctly, and put it the right folder.

5. A briefing will not be played if the briefing movie is missing, or if no_briefing is stated.

6. Cutscenes are not played by default.

7. To play a cutscene after "mission complete" add the cutscene tag.

8. To play the cutscene in place of "mission complete" use the endmovie method shown below.

9. When using the endmovie method, do not add the cutscene tag.

Here are the two possible statements that will play a cutscene for mission 20...

For no equipment store, a normal briefing at the beginning, and cutscene after "mission complete":

"Normal method"
-------------------------------------
miss_20: "no_loadout,cutscene,end"

For no equipment store, a normal briefing at the beginning, and cutscene REPLACING "mission complete":

"Endmovie Method"
-------------------------------------
miss_20: "no_loadout,end"

miss_20_endmovie: "cs20"

Place the miss_##_endmovie: "cs##" at the very end of the Missflag.str file and make sure there is a blank line as shown here.

In all cases for mission 20 your briefing file should be called b20.avi and your cutscene file cs20.avi.
