... or put another way - Sue's Ramblings :D

Maybe it's just me - but everytime this song by Iron Maiden comes on my CD it just reminds me of Soul Reaver story and Raziel ...
esp. these paras (not in order and some missed out)

Have you ever felt
The future is the past
But you don't know how... ?
A reflected dream
Of a captured time
Is it really now, is it really happening ?

All my hopes and expectations
Looking for an explanation
Coming to the realisation
That I can't see for sure

Lost in a dream of mirrors
Lost in a paradox
Lost and time is spinning
Lost a nightmare I retrace

Lost a hell that I revisit
Lost another time and place
Lost a parallel existence
Lost a nightmare I retrace

Especially SR2, good old Iron Maiden, havent heard them in a while I still remember the giant Iron Maiden poster I had on my wall. Those were the days when heavy metal bands had cool covers (sort of).

Another song that reminds me of LOK, specifically of Raziel, is Tool's 46 & 2, hence the quote in my sig. It's about evolution and whenever I listen to it I just think this is what Raziel was thinking.

My shadow's
Shedding skin
I've been picking
Scabs again.
I'm down
Digging through
My old muscles
Looking for a clue
I've been wallowing in my own confused
And insecure delusions
I wanna feel the change consume me,
Feel the outside turning in
By stepping through my shadow,
Coming out the other side.
Step into the shadow.
Forty six and two are just ahead of me

See? Evolution :D

see what you mean - I don't have any of Tool's albums though I nearly bought Lateralus last year when it came out - but I didn't have much money at the time and got the new Megadeth's World Needs a Hero one instead - currently now lost or someone's "borrowed" it

I've got all of Tool's albums and I must say they are indeed amongst my favorite bands. Lateralus was really good.

Speaking from a sheer musical standpoint... Tool is head and shoulders above about 90% of all other rock acts out there... and speaking from a personal taste perspective I own all of their albums and have seen them live... Tool is one of my most favorite bands in the world... if not my MOST favorite.

I HIGHLY recommend them.

Which album do you think is the best?

I'm gonna be painfully un-original and say Aenima, I still get chills when stinkfist fires up.
