Hi guys, can anyone (Ice,Runtime?) give me a bit of advice on updating my video card?

I have got :-

Video Card : NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro
Video Driver : nvdisp.drv
Driver Version : 4.13.01.1260

I have been over to NVIDIA website, it is all a complete mystery to me..which one do I download to update?

I am using Windows 98 second edition.

Any help would be appreciated..:)

I know, I'm just dumb aren't I?

Ill check and will reply. I'm understanding you want to update the drivers and not the card (drivers and not buying another card)

Maggie: Video card is what allows you to read this stuff :) :) :D

AS I thought, you need the same drivers as any other video card.

Detonator XP seems to be the right file, the current one is 29.42

Head over to http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=windows9x

It's the first one in the list.

Maggie, sorry I am a bit late, you posted during my sleeping hours! Anyway MrDefender is correct. The Detonator XP is a unified driver and can be used for all GPUs including the TNT2.

not to mention all operating systems..... eh.. all Windows O/S' (don't know if they work on macs.) :)

I don't even know why they make catagories for driver downloads? Allot of know companies make a all in one package file.. (Logitech, Soundblaster, NVIDIA, etc...).

I guess it's to reassure the people who aren't computer guru's

Different OSes would require a different driver version. You have correctly linked to the one which Maggie needs (Windows 98SE / 9x) but if someone had Windows XP, they would need a different one.

What do you mean by categories for download? Not sure what you mean.

well... They make 1 program and that program scans your O/S then installs the right driver.

That's why the driver.exe file is the same size for each operating system (windows).

Also, By category downloads, goto nvidia then go to "download drivers" you'll see all the posible o/s'

"Windows 95/98/ME"
"Windows XP 64-Bit"
"Windows XP"
"Windows 2000"

etc...

thats 4 categories

What makes you think they are the same size? Because they are not.

was refering to the ones on logitech.

I got my keyboard, mouse, joystick, mic and quick cam, digital cam from logitech.. Other than that, I need the drivers for my sound card and video card.. so u can guess which site I visit the most :)

But we have been talking about Nvidia all along and you even specifically mentioned Nvidia and how they have different download categories, so I obviously assumed you are talking about Nvidia and not Logitech.
