Hi!

I'd only like to know what information are saved in the LAR files of a WAD. The manual says Lara's animations would be saved there but I think the LAR file needn't exist to output and convert a level (I think I tested it once). The animations are saved in the LARA object and you can't add or delete some animations of Lara by taking another LAR file.

So, for what is it used ?

You are both "somewhat" wrong, the SWD file stores all the games Sprites, which is just as important though..
The WAD itself stores all the animations inside it, the LAR file I believe was used on their Anim Editor.
They probably could load and output animations in this file and later "merge" it with the WAD file.

Then we don't need the LAR files?!

No we don't, they're totally useless.
