I haven't tried this one yet but I think it could help in particular areas of Level Editing (like making animations or creating objects) ! I found it looong ago but somehow I forgot to tell you about it (sorry). Check the official site for more information and screenies (the link above). And here's a brief overview of this program:

TSREditor :

TSREditor is a new and easy to use program designed to develop powerful graphic demonstrations and 3D games without any knowledge of computer programming and math.
With a simple and intuitive interface TSREditor allow you to build 3D worlds and characters with textures, materials, lights that you can combine with input resources and what you need to create your own application. TSREditor offers even articulated animation features so you can create and edit whit a keyframe system your 3D sequences. Examples, and a sort of Explorer useful to launch and share any production written using TSREditor
Some features:
- A good set of base objects (cubes, spheres, cones, cilinders ...)
- Traslation, Rotation and Scaling
- Object oriented hierarchy, with tree visualization
- Lighting with Ambient, Diffusion and Specular methods
- Rendering with multiple textures with different methods (eg: modulate, modulate 2x, add, subtract, dotproduct ...)
- Animated textures
- Texture wrapping
- Blending and alphablending
- Browsing features
- ... a lot others

Thanks.

I remember using a free CAD program a long time ago. It had an interface similar to Metasequoia (except the buttons were at the bottom) i got it off www.download.com

But the TRLE didn't even exist back then.

thanks The Mask, that should be really useful, I'm getting quite used to Metasequoia now, the important question is....does it let you import/export/save DXF files? :)

No it does not.

and the interface leaves much to be desired.
