SIGNS the New Mel Gibson film was shot in my town.

Premise: On a family farm somewhere in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, mysterious crop circles start forming.

July 9, 2001... We're in luck! One of our readers happens to live in Bucks County, ground zero where filming of Signs will be happening come September. The local paper, the Bucks County Courier Times, has been running stories about the progress of of the production's scouting for locations .

One local site that looks likely to become a location is Delaware Valley College. Scouts have been visiting that location and rumors have it that set decorators could begin dressing the college as soon as sometime this month. A local farmer, whose farm was also scouted and reported in the paper, received dozens of phone calls from interested parties asking how their property could also get considered!

And remember our earlier story mentioning the production was seeking a young boy (aged 8-12) and a young girl (aged 4-7)? They're now looking for another boy (aged 6-8) who can speak Portuguese. If that sounds like it could be someone you know, send a heat shot and resume to Mike Lemon Casting, 413 N. 7th St., Suite 602, Philadelpia, PA 19123.

[Special thanks to 'Casiel'; with some material having first appeared in the Bucks County Courier Times.]

August 9, 2001... Touchstone Pictures has announced that Frank Marshall and Sam Mercer will be producing the film with Night, as well as Kathleen Kennedy sitting in the executive producer role. The film will be out next year. [Info provided by Touchstone Pictures.]

August 27, 2001... A resident of Bucks County writes in to tell us that the local paper, the Bucks County Courier Times, printed a story about Shyamalan and his production team recently scouting for locations in the town. Walking through Newtown Borough, one of the town's neighborhoods, a few days ago were Shyamalanm and his set decorators, key grips, lighting specialists and more key members of the Signs crew.

When curious residents approached the filmmakers, they admitted they were going to be filming scenes on State Street in the Newtown Borough in October. According to Andrew Ullman, the film's location manager, the two-day shoot will be devoted to different sites on State Street and around Newtown. On one day they will be outside South State Street's Hardware House shooting scenes; and on another day the production will be inside of the Newtown Book & \ Record Exchange on South State St., as well as inside the vacant Acme Design building three blocks away.

I grew up in Newtown and live 5 mins away..!!!

That's so awesome, but kind of creepy too!!!

They're starting to show previews here for 'Signs', and movie looks incredibly freaky!! lol I love the line the little girl says in the preview, "There's a monster outside my room, can I have a glass of water?" It's so weird, because she's really monotonous when she says it.

But yeah, aren't you kind of freaked out by that?? I mean, all that stuff with aliens, it has to make you kind of nervous at night....
