Hi.

Just watched the Dubai level today. I love it but I noticed three things which bothered me:
First at 19:53 I think that when we're in cover, we can make a takedown from too far.
At 21:17 the NPCs didn't even react to the soporific grenade.
Then at 21:29 on the video above, the NPC didn't even react. I hope it will be better in higher difficulty level.

However the game looks great, I just hope we'll still be able to deactivate completely the HUD and also the "cover to cover" line.

Gameplay looks good. Graphics aren't that bad. Not sure what the games are demoed on. Lipsync is classic Deus Ex.

Hi.

I'm not sure I see what you're talking about... the NPCs do react: they start choking and dropping. Likewise, at 21:29 the NPC does react and goes aggressive when Jensen moves into view, but doesn't have time before he gets punched in the throat (which, I admit, is a pretty lethal non-lethal takedown if you ask me *grin*).

Overall I am very impressed by the demos, it looks very impressive, and I particularly enjoyed the glimpses we get of the menus. It seems clear to me that the devs did not try to reinvent the wheel, but instead focused on improving the mechanics introduced in DXHR. Basically, the gameplay is the same, only expanded and improved. More options, more stuff to do, better graphics and immersion (I like how some takedowns transition well into first person), but there's no "streamlining" or simplification (for example, we still get to play inventory tetris!).

They're simply taken what they've learned making the last game and applied it to the sequel: It's more Deus Ex, only improved... which is exactly what I am looking for in this sequel.

As for the graphics, I love 'em. It's great to have an in-game Jensen that finally looks as great as he does in the trailers (let's face it, in DXHR he looked completely different in game, with a much narrower and angular head). The lip sync is a a bit strange, mind you: sometimes it's awesome and you can tell the mo-cap did its work (you can read their lips, basically), while at other times it seems off. Hopefully that's something they're actively pinning down, because it's great to see actors more involved in the scenes (what with all the mo-cap work).

Anyway, it's going to be a looong 2 months, that's for sure.

I mean that they don't react to the grenade itself. The guy on the right saw it and must have scream "Grenade !" or something like this.
Yeah the guy at 21:29 react to Jensen but takes too much time to shoot at him in my opinion. That looks weird.
But I agree with you on the rest, this game will be awesome and I can't wait to play it too.

The gameplay looks awesome and I'm looking forward to playing for real.
Only two more months to wait...

Through this brief demo, Mankind Divided highlights the signature elements of the series: choice and consequences. From what I’ve seen so far, it’s promising to see the sequel remains true to the series’ roots, while expanding the world and refining the gameplay.
