View Full Version : What makes a great bonus/secret level?

I started this thread a while ago back in the old forums, and I think I should make a thread like this in these forums too :D

Unfortunatly I can't remember a lot of things you, guys and galz posted there, but I'll list some, I still remember.

Not too much enemies
A big boss or 2 at/near the end
A big surprise (personally I think, every level should have this)
U want me to play Nightmare in Las Vegas
An exotic/unique (compared to the other levels) setting

Add more if you can think of anything (or if I forgot something), I think that this could not only be helpfull for myself, but for all level designers, who are planning to make a bonus/secret level for their adventure.

And plz don't start to disccuss about the allready existing Bonus levels, unless it somehow is related to the topic (for example what was so good/bad about them).

it has to be fun, challenging, different and long :D

i believe that a secret level should have a nice setting and look really good but at the same time be good to play:cool:
