Although this year is coming to an end, we still have plenty of stuff in the works for the new year. But before we take a look at the future, let’s recap the past month in Nosgoth.

We started off the month by revealing our latest communication tool, the Ping system (http://nosgoth.com/blog/deep-dive-voice-free-ping-system). Now players across the world, regardless of language barriers, can organize and strike at the heart of their enemies. We then hosted another Flashpoint Test Weekend (http://nosgoth.com/blog/flashpoint-ignites-this-weekend), giving you the chance to try out the new Ping system with one of our objective-based modes. Then, after months of teasing it, we revealed our latest map “The Nest” (but we all know it as the Silenced Cathedral (http://nosgoth.com/blog/new-map-preview-the-nest)).

Later in the month, we rolled out the Nosgoth Launcher (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-launcher-bringing-blood-loving-gamers-together-all-around-the-globe), a tool aimed to bringing Nosgoth to even more players and with smaller-sized game updates moving forward, too! Nosgoth Leagues returned (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-league-returns-with-beta-4-0), bringing with it a new 24-hour forum to be less-restrictive to other time zones. Rounding down the month, we posted a few troubleshoots and information (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-launcher-status-update) regarding the Nosgoth Launcher, as well as our plan to crush bugs in the New Year.

And now, let’s take a peek at what we have coming up next month in Nosgoth.

ONGOING - Bug Fixes

With the new Nosgoth Launcher out in the wild, we’ve gotten reports from some players experiencing issues. These issues, along with a few outstanding bugs that Psyonix and Square-Enix Montréal have been working on, will be addressed early in the New Year.

ONGOING - Nosgoth Leagues

In case you missed the start date, Beta Season 4.0 of Nosgoth Leagues began on December 14. But don’t fret; the season will be wrapping up on January 18 at 3pm GMT (or 5am PST for American-minded folks).

Also, another reminder for Eternal tier players from Beta Season 3.0: ESL will be sending out prizes on January 15.

ONGOING - Developer Interviews

To start off the New Year, we’ll be bringing a new wave of developer interviews. For all you audiophiles, we have an interview with Mike Ault, resident sound guy at Psyonix Studios. We also have two other interviews in the can but we’re wondering which job titles you want to hear from. Be sure to head over the forums to let us know who you’d like to hear from next, or if you have any specific questions you’d like answered!

ONGOING - Community Live Streams

Another returning feature, the Community Live Streams will be returning in 2016. Join us Community Managers (and a member of the production team) as we play a few rounds of Nosgoth and answer your questions. Plus, we might just have a few in-game items to give away...

We’ll have more details for you after the ball drops.

JANUARY - State of Play

While the Nosgoth State of Play is always scheduled for the end of the month (to recap all that has happened), January will see a much earlier update. Next month, look for our post to recap all of the latest goings on in the world of Nosgoth in our early special edition!

To close out the Nosgoth State of Play for 2015, we’d thought it would be fitting to highlight some of the bigger announcements from the year.

January 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-state-of-play-january-30-2015) - At the start of the New Year, Nosgoth entered Open Beta (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-open-beta-begins-play-now), bringing in even more players to the community!

February 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-state-of-play-february-2015) - The Summoner of Clan Melchahim (http://nosgoth.com/blog/the-summoner-of-clan-melchahim-out-now) added their demonic sacrifice to the war against the humans. However, the Vanguard of the Drowning Men (http://nosgoth.com/blog/the-vanguard-out-now) entered the fray, shield bashing a few stalkers before hurling an ax or two into some vampiric corpses.

March 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-state-of-play-march-2015) - The free Daily Rewards (http://nosgoth.com/blog/introducing-free-daily-rewards) system made its debut, giving players a shot at discounts, gold, and exclusive character skins just for logging in every day. We also took a closer look at a fixture of the current map rotation, The Crucible (http://nosgoth.com/blog/new-the-crucible-preview-video). Last but not least, players were now able to customize their profiles with banners (http://nosgoth.com/blog/new-legacy-of-kain-player-banners), bringing some much-needed Legacy of Kain flair to the lobbies.

April 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-state-of-play-april-2015) - With the introduction of the Nosgoth Definitive Pack (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-s-definitive-pack), players were able to unlock all classes as well as their common weapons and abilites. What's more, any future class that is released will be free and unlocked immediately!

May 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-state-of-play-may-2015) - No Steam-enabled game would be complete without Trading Cards (http://nosgoth.com/blog/steam-trading-cards-have-arrived). Now you can craft badges and trade with other Nosgoth players to complete your collection.

June 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/state-of-play-june-2015) - One of the most sought-after functions, Crafting was introduced (http://nosgoth.com/blog/the-forge-crafting-comes-to-nosgoth) to allow players a deeper level of customization.

July 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-state-of-play-july-2015) - Knowing many of you were sitting on a pile of gold, we released a series of character skins (http://nosgoth.com/blog/upcoming-gold-skins) that helped deplete your gold reserves. No runestones required! In addition, we launched our first Community Fan Art Spotlight (http://nosgoth.com/blog/community-fan-art-spotlight), showing off the immense talent (and sense of humor) in the Nosgoth community. Awesome work, everyone!

August 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-state-of-play-august-2015) - A series of live streams happened this month, from a community stream (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-community-live-stream-august-21) to one live at Gamescom (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-official-gamescom-twitch-livestream)!

September 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-state-of-play-september-2015) - After listening to community feedback, we rolled out our plans for Nosgoth Leagues (http://nosgoth.com/blog/deep-dive-nosgoth-leagues-season-1), from cash rewards to exclusive in-game loot. We also announced that three Nosgoth flags would appear in Rocket League (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-flags-in-rocket-league).

October 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-state-of-play-october-2015) - We celebrated Halloween with style with Devil's Weekend (http://nosgoth.com/blog/devil-s-night-will-soon-be-upon-us), adding new a slew of new weapon drops (http://nosgoth.com/blog/treasures-of-the-lost-are-being-found-around-nosgoth) and chests.

November 2015 (http://nosgoth.com/blog/nosgoth-state-of-play-november-2015) - To add a bit more drama (or flamboyance, depending on your point of view), Boasts (http://nosgoth.com/blog/a-flair-for-the-dramatic-boasts) were added to the pre-game lobby.

December 2015 - After a long wait, we officially revealed the Silenced Cathedral (http://nosgoth.com/blog/new-map-preview-the-nest) map, showing it in detail during a special live stream event.

Thank you to everyone in the Nosgoth community for supporting us along the way this year. We have to share in 2016 and we know you'll love it as much as we do! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to everyone!

In general I'd like to see some kind of studio tour in a video. I think people need to get a feel about how big (or small) Psyonix is.

Btw will Kevin Riepl continue to work on music for Nosgoth?

So the December State of Play is basically "We're gonna have updates in January!"...Well. o.o

And when I think about it, I have a certain feeling that it will "only" be the new Sentinel ability. Though I hope for the best Nest.

To be fair folks, New Year's Eve or even a few days beforehand isn't the greatest time to delve into deeper discussion about Nosgoth's upcoming initiatives. We'll be discussing a quite a bit about what we're doing with Nosgoth both inside and out of State of Play this month :).
