I have some Thief FM music to use but I need to rip off my CD first. Anyone know of any free Rippers that don't have spyware attached?

You can use a program such as Ad-aware to strip the spyware components out of most software.

Have you got Nero 5? BladeEnc?

I'll email you bladeenc if you like. It's less than 800k It isn't as quick as most but it works and it's FREE;)

 The email works different here, I can't attach the file. I went to the old eidos forum and got your email that way.
Sending Now:)

BTW I scanned for virus with Norton 2002 and latest definitions. Feel free to check again at your end:)

I'm with Gumdrop.

I've used CD-DA for a little while. It uses the LAME mp3 encoding system and can make variable bitrate mp3s. It gives a very good quality mp3. :)

I rather like DMC Music Converter. Great MP3 converter with addon-codecs galore! :)

Can someone explain to me what this spyware is? It sounds nasty! I know I’m probably setting myself up for a smack in the face, when someone states the obvious so I’m bracing myself now!

RiCh, here's a good link for a basic introduction to the hazard of spyware:

Wow thanks for the links guys some real eye opening stuff there!! Does explain a few things though. Should I still use GoZilla? I’ve been using that for ages now, or should I try another DL manager does Get Right have spy ware in it? Anyone know what the best pop up stoppers are which I could download?

RiCh slowly limps back into the shadows cursing

Getright is a really good download manager, and newer versions don't have spyware, just make sure you say no to gator(or whatever comes bundled with it).
