The weapon/ability FX (love them or hate them) have always felt a bit half finished. They are purely cosmetic so they are not meant to have a real impact on the gameplay, but what seems to be missing is the impact it has upon its targets. Whether it be ice, fire, lightning, or any of the others, it makes no difference when the target is struck and that is what is missing with the FX.

Why not include the FX in the impact by having an area of frost, a burst of fire, a surge of electricity, or anything else akin to the other FX elements happen where a target is struck?
