View Full Version : Selling players above 25 years

21st Apr 2015, 11:22
Bug description
Have had more or less whole team out on transfer, where I have set their transfer-price to roughly 50% of their value. In 4 transfer windows, none of the players above 25 years have had any transfer offers.

Steps taken to reproduce bug
Tried to relist players, change requested transfer price, but still I do not get any offers for these.

What team you are currently managing
Manchester City

The current in game date
12st Jan 2016

Device you are playing on
Galaxy Note 2

OS you are playing on

OS Version currently installed on your device
Android 4.4.2

Additional information and screenshots
I was unsure of where to post this, but seems like a major issue if none of 15 players (75-87 rated, above 25 year, some with major playtime, some does not have a lot of playtime) gets any offers when you request half their value.

Hey folks, I've had a chat with the game logic guys here - It's most likely not a bug as such and it isn't just related to the over 25s either.

Rather, the problem stems from the fact that, similar to in real life, Manchester City players have unusually high wages. So when another team comes along and sees that you've put a player up on offer, they consider the transfer cost as well as the running weekly wage cost they would incur by hiring said player. Many teams may be able to sign they player with enough transfer funds, but would not be able to afford them due to their wage requirements. Alternatively, they may see other players on the market with similar attributes but more reasonable wages and make offers on them over your own.

You may be be able to sell players off for extremely low prices though - teams may be willing to take the wage hit if it'd a ridiculously good offer. Could you try listing them for transfer for very low amounts of money (even if you don't go through with any transfers, it'd be good to see if the theory holds).

Have tried to sell Silva (86) and Dzeko (79) for 1 Euro, which did not catch any buyers. While trying this did I also have every other player above 28 year in the team for half their price or lower, not one of them got an offer. If salaries play such a big part that you can not sell players for free, then something is very wrong.

Its not just about getting them free there not going to buy players if they cant afford there wages, psg wanted angel di maria but couldnt afford his wages so he went to man u, these things happen IRL, i sell lots of players over 28 and im wolfsburg.

It is quite odd that you didn't get any offers even at such low prices. Granted that it's an edge case but it shouldn't completely prevent you from selling players when playing Man City... Will continue investigating!

Please check if you did not accidentely ended up with transfer listed players and refuse all transfer offers both ticked in the action menu

I've had the same problem, only seems to happen to me while managing "man city" or "Chelsea"

I agree it's most likely the wages. However I have no problem selling Madrid, Barcelona, bayern players just seems to be these two I've noticed it with!
