Hello Everyone!

Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix have been working with the talented team at Simutronics,‏ who are developing the all-new Lara Croft: Relic Run. Many of you have correctly mused that Relic Run is an adventure runner, and at its core it is, but we feel that it’s much more than that. Relic Run offers a massive amount of diversity in play, allowing for seamless transitions between acrobatic-inspired running, combat, vehicles, and epic boss fights, including but not limited to the return of the infamous T-Rex.

We’ve soft launched on iOS and Android in The Netherlands this morning, and we encourage our Dutch fans to give the game a try. You’ll be helping us ensure all the kinks are ironed out and the game is optimized for the full launch.

Lara Croft: Relic Run will be free-to-play, launching on iOS, Android, and Win8 Phone and we’re aiming for a global release in the coming months.

Like the other games in the Lara Croft brand, Relic Run will scratch your itch for nostalgic play – big adventure, over-the-top action, and loads of collectibles coupled with fast-paced play.

That’s all the news for now. We hope you’re excited to give Lara Croft: Relic Run a go!

Yay, I got to work on my iPad 2! It's still a bit laggy though, and with a game like this you can't afford that. So I can't play it properly. However, I like what I saw. The animations were truthful to the original games and the level design is gorgeous. And since it's free, there's no reason not to download it. :)

It really looks fun, I thought it would a copy/paste of Temple Run, but it really feels TRish and I want it on my phone :D It's not free, I suppose? xD

Edit: Oh, it's free, goddamn, I need to play this :D

I don't play phone games much but the way it looks like Lost Valley I think is an awesome choice.

The style of this game looks fantastic. The beauty of the colour palette that is a refreshing change the attitude/iconicness that is the classic outfits and all those very TR like trap elements. Lara's in game face doesn't quite match up to the title pic but otherwise real cool. Great work simultronics.

The only disappointment is this is only a phone game and would love to see the creative side of this team do a full platformer title on console. This type of style/gameplay/Lara attire is just what the main series could do with more of and hope it gets to be more a part of TR than just a separate thing.

I am so freakin' excited for this game! It's looks like a blast and I love the parkour style acrobatics. A BIG thank you to the team for bringing this title to Windows Phone. I can't wait to play it! :cheek: :D

Couldn't agree more. From what I see so far though Simutronics look to have done a wonderful job on this one.

One of key quotes of the TR(2013) marketing was 'forget everything you know about Lara' and there has been this movement from CD to make being different from the classic style a selling point. This game however looks to embrace the roots of the series and in the screengrabs appears all the better for it. Going with the iconic classic outfit will make people who not play the console games know it's Lara Croft from a mile away.

Looking very good in style but hope it plays as good as it looks.

This actually looks pretty fantastic: Tomb Raider is the perfect fit for a Temple Run style of game, but it looks like they've gone above and beyond the "Temple Run format" and really made it into a Tomb Raider game with a number of unique elements (vehicles and acrobatics) rather than just "Lara Croft doing Temple Run." The environments look amazing which is of course a necessary element to a Tomb Raider game. I hope this is available soon - I can't wait to play it! (I'll be giving it a go on my iPad Air.)

Hey All!

I know a good number of you have had a chance to play the game one way or another. :P

The team is looking for your feedback on the Curse system.

In RR you can compete with friends for high scores, coins collected, distance etc. You can also send curses to each other to try and ruin their run. This is executed in the form of a full screen effect that makes the game that much more difficult for 30 seconds, such as putting on a fun house filter, pixelating the environment, or introducing vertigo. If you survive you get some coins as a reward and can send a curse back, if you fail then the person sending it gets the reward.

You can send a curse using soft currency (in-game coins collected through play) via the store. If any of you give the Curse System a go, please post your thoughts here!

Q: "What is the Curse system?"

A: The curse system is one of the many things unique to Lara Croft: Relic Run. Not only can you compete with your friends for high score, coins collected, distance etc. but you can also send curse to friends to ruin their run!

When I play games on my iPad Air, I don't connect to the Game Center or allow apps to access my social media accounts, so I wouldn't use this feature personally. I'll just enjoy the game and enjoy not getting cursed! ;) :D

The T-rex shot looks soooooo good. Is there any release dates yet for other countries?

I noticed it's already available on Android. Any word on the iOS release date? I'd assumed it would be a simultaneous launch, but I guess not.

I just looked it up and it's still not available. AFAIK Android and iOS (and likely W8P) versions are available only in the Netherlands so far...

It shows up on my Google Play account and allows me to install it. I don't have any Android devices currently since I switched to an iPhone, so I can't attempt to install it myself.

Any possibility of a Surface RT version? Probably not, but I thought I'd mention it anyway...

^ That would be pretty cool.

I'm just glad it's available on my Windows Phone. I have 1 question though: Does anyone know why I don't have the "video playback" option like the Android and iOS versions? Is it a hardware capability thing?

My guess is it's probably a hardware thing. The playback (surprisingly) isn't just recording a log of what you do and the course that's generated, which it could then replay. So that you can share a video of your gameplay, it's actually recording a (pretty compressed) MP4 file while you're playing. When you think about how much graphic fidelity the game has, and the fact that it has to record a video at the same time, I found that to be pretty impressive!
