Currently, it's pretty difficult to communicate with your teammates what you see. If you stop to type, it can cost you everything. Why not have the ability to ping a location to give teammates a heads up?

A scout sees a tyrant about to come in from a distance. He pings him letting his team know it's coming so they can prepare.

A sentinel is scouting the skies and spots the team hiding in a building in a corner. What's the point in being the scout if you have to stop to type what your seeing? Why not just be able to ping a location. That would cause instant team play action.

You can even take it a step further. Let the team know exactly what we ping right in the chat window.

"XJadeDragoonX has spotted a sentinel!" To keep it simple. And you have a dot on your screen notifying the location. It won't work like mark target obviously because you can't get a sei permanent lock on the target. Just the current location. Plus, nobody uses mark target anyway.

What do you think?

I like the idea but how do you think would it work? I understand that you got the idea from most current MOBAs / RTS games like LoL and Dota 2, but there you can ping on the minimap / the ground because the game is played from an isometric perspective.

We have an ingame ping prototype started, so hang in there. Not sure it will be as specific as your examples.
