View Full Version : Male Hookers

I believe there should be male hookers in the fourth mainline Deus Ex installment.

Also characters on the street should move around, so you have to search for them instead of running back and forth between the same place every so often. Not so much that it gets annoying, just so it's not going from A to B to A all the time.

I believe they should implement a system that implies time is moving, it doesn't have to be dramatic, just something more simple, say a hub starts out at rush hour, then it slowly diminishes and the hub is left feeling more lonely and dangerous. idk

I think this got sidetracked.

I'd love to see day and night cycles, or even just the occasional, well-timed transition for dramatic effect.

For some reason I always imagine how swell a re-imagined Maggie Chow apartment scene would be with a gorgeous sunrise lighting up the city skyline.

Oh, and nothing spells it's the near-future like male hookers and a female US president, I guess? :p

The well-timed transition is the way to do it. Deus Ex is the illusion of flying to a city and spending the duration of the night there, for the most part. Showing up with the sun setting and then leaving with the sun coming up would be pretty cool. I also like the idea of the streets becoming more sparse as you complete objectives (I don't want it based on time, this is not an open-world game).

Also I think it'd be more realistic to ask for tranny hookers than male ones. How many male prostitutes have you seen on the streets?

All the soldiers were blokes, so more lady enemies too. Perhaps more characters like the women in black.

I would have really liked Detroit 2 to be set in the cloudy, overcast daytime to better reflect the CG trailers and add some variety. I don't know why that wasn't the case.

Athene Margoulis was a wily adversary, able to deflect and obfuscate even the slightest attempt to secure information. :p

I'm all for more hookers that aren't just ladies if we have to have hookers.

Definitely down for that more-female-enemies business too. Also more female npcs that aren't amazingly attractive. I remember fat (not saying a voluptous woman can't be attractive) women in the original Deus Ex...but in HR, not so much.

Which reminds me...is it wrong of me to want the women in black to wear pants too like the men in black? I mean come on, skirts aren't so wonderful for combat.

Definitely on the "more female bad guys" train over here. Try making some that are actually interesting.

Actually, try making some bad guys that are actually interesting, since they were all pretty much shallow and pointless in HR.

Hahaha, true, but I stand by my desire for pants.

No, what we need are more faceless masked bad guys in armor. It's better for game design resources!

Yeah, I agree with ya.

There you go.

Ehh, I always thought the women in black were super stylish with their slicked back hair and skirt suits. It's the pumps that hinder combat though, rather than the skirts.

Those shoes are also bad but don't tell me a pencil skirt doesn't stop legs from picking up a good stride when running, and let's not even talk about any kind of kicking she might want to do.

Yeah, probably not very combat worthy altogether. But super, super stylish.

Yep. Much like noisy long coats and sunglasses at night. :p

Remember the rule 34 boy.

As for the day-night cycling, it's really not that difficult, but...sorry people it would've turned off the entire cyberpunk atmosphere.

Ever seen a cyberpunk movie in daylight setting?

The tranny serving the espresso says no.

Haha I had to look that up. Many frightening puns are to be made of this con!

Nah, had the day to kill while waiting for the 9oclock press. Someone proposed to fly from Marthas Vineyard in a tiny coocoo plane. Ride was worth it, Provincetown not so much!
