Rather than install issues or issues that may be due to other reasons eg; graphics cards, drivers etc this thread is for specific gameplay glitches/bugs where something doesn't work or appear to be working how it should. Bugs/glitches posted on this forum only are listed. I can't guarantee this is completely up to date cos I don't work here ;) but i'll do what I can.

Its easy to forget to do it, but every now and then change your save game slot. There are 3 on the consoles and you access them through the in-game menu. That way, if you do need to go back for any reason you don't necessarily have to start from the beginning!

First reported dates refer to date of forum post and platform listed where known it has been seen.

Please note; not everybody experiences these issues. Some seem to be platform specific or are dependent on specific gameplay actions.

PC Patches are generally quicker to appear than console Title Updates due to submission processes - please be patient!

Where issues are shown as fixed, it is because they have been stated in the release notes or they have been reported as fixed by somone

I played till the point, where you get back to the village and have to rescue Sam (after the plane crash)

3 issues so far:
1. if you go to the menu to regulate the brightness etc. the brightness level automatically does one step back (from 55 to 54 for example) and after clicking through the rest up to the top again it jumps back to normal(55)
2. after you come back out of the wolf cave to help roth the trigger for the cutscene is missing. a reload of the last checkpoint fix this issue (for me) but this isn't the way it should be...
3. and this seems to be a bigger one: when i decided not to run to sam(in the palace) and instead of that going back to the village (for some treasure hunting etc.) i experienced frame rate stutter every 3 seconds. also the save icon appears every 2 minutes at least (for nothing -just wandering around). this also happens when i moved back to the previous stages. there was no frame stuttering but the icon appears often and for no reason. then i moved back to the village again and everything was fine.

System: Playstation 3 Slim
Played with Day-One-Patch(53 MB)

Hope you take a look in this one. Loving the game so far.

I have to say I find it very troublesome that a game that was in development as long as this one has so many major bugs right out the gate. The gamebreaking bugs are especially worrisome. I hope the game developers are working on fixing these things with a patch ("title update").

I was so hoping to play this game tomorrow when I get my copy, but hearing about all these bugs makes me think it's better to wait a few months for a decent patch. Clearly that day 1 patch did not do the job. It's a shame, as I was really looking forward to this game. The possibility of running into a gamebreaking glitch would just taint the whole experience for me.

So far 2013 is looking like a very unlucky year for video games. Dead Space 3 got mangled into something unrecognizable by EA, Aliens: Colonial Marines was a colossal epic failure that isn't worth even half its asking price, the final DLC for Mass Effect 3 seems like utter garbage and now Tomb Raider is riddled with glitches (some of which are really nasty ones by the sound of it). :( Oh, and THQ also went down the tubes. RIP.

2013 certainly seems like an unlucky number for video games.

Troublesome, but not surprising. Games are far more complex now, and the smallest combination of certain variables can cause a glitch. Many people seem not to have experienced these glitches (granted - its based on the few who hav e played it through to date).

Think about it this way - taking Route A without collecting item B and on the way killing animal J with weapon Z may cause a glitch that would not be experienced if one of those variables is different.

The main thing will be how quickly a patch is released.

I have just download and play for a few minutes but I don't know why I got some bugs that annoying me:
1. missing cutscene (when Lara out of the cave and move to the tree)
2. Random force close when I push F12 to capture picture to upload on steam especially when I push shift+tab to chat with my friends. I always get a force close.

experience extreme TressFX hair fps drop like many other NVidia users are already reporting.

I know that it's the TRESSFX hair that's doing it... as soon as I switch back to normal hair mode, FPS sky rockets. I know that TRESSFX uses more direct-compute tech than CUDA. No reason this should be choppy during upclose hair scenes on SLI'd 680 or 690 systems with everything maxed.

Please add CUDA support for TressFX.

Also, many are reporting SLI gtx600 series crashes/lockups with tessellation on.

I have came across a glitch on the Research Level that prevents you from getting the last relic! On the map it shows the location of the relic yet it sends you to level 3 near the elevator and there is nothing there. It seems impossible to get the last relic! Game Breaking 100% :-(

I turned Post Processing off, it was making my screen all kinds of crazy.

I still have issues though, as seen:

I did update my graphics driver, I updated now to the newest one available which is February 18th.

I have all the following turned off: Anti-Aliasing, Depth of Field, SSAO, Post Processing, High Precision.

I have tried Texture Filter on various settings.

No luck :( I really don't want to play the game with these weird issues... and I had been hoping to start playing now! ;)

impossible to climb up wall after 2nd guy stealth kill tutorial in game in the building thats on fire, pc version, lara gets to the top of the wall stands up, and glitches to bottom of wall, the only way round it is to jump as soon as lara gets to the top of the wall. the wall seems to be at a slight angle so the top of the wall is not inline with the bottom of the wall so I guess she's standing on air at the top.

Hi Jay, yes, I started the game with the default "Normal" overall setting first before changing anything.

Then when I encountered the problem, I started turning everything off and also lowering settings to see if that would help.

This is a minor detail, but something that just drives me... ;) On PC. For such a beautiful interface... the YES / NO confirmation buttons are a bit large, but the main thing is that YES / NO are not centered within their boxes, which is just ughhh ;)

I notice this very obviously in the main menu that comes up when you start the game, and in the Benchmark (which is where my screenshot is from).

Because of this, I have not started the single player campaign. I don't want to play the campaign with this problem distracting me.

EDIT: I thought it might not happen in MP, but it does happen in MP too, MP is just so fast-paced that I didn't see it until I stopped and looked a bit more carefully.

The problem seems to happen against the sky / background, which is why I notice it especially in the Benchmark and main menus. In MP the maps I tried so far, there isn't a lot of sky or the sky is obscured and I'm not looking up at it or into a large expanse of it.

i had this glitches as well when i changed few things because the game was really lagging like hell. i have turned off the tressfex and and other things and suddenly i saw the river (the hunting section) so as ghostly shadows. after i have turned on the tressfx and deselect tessellation, then things looked normal again.

now it looks really good but at times i have noticed some weird shadow effects. they look at times like grids.

anyway, thats the setting i have. playing with a 7870.
vsync= double buffering
exclusive fullscreen= off
texture quality= high
texture filter= 8x
AA= FXAA
shadow= normal
shadow resolution= high
level of detail= high
post processing= on
high precision= on
tessellation= off
hair quality= tressfx
reflections= high
DoF= normal
SSAO= normal

like this, the game runs very smooth.

Well, I don't have tessellation or tressfx on my card, so... :)

And I know exactly what you mean about the shadows on water. I have seen similar issues on Skyrim in the past, but no longer have those issues anymore, they were resolved some time ago.

As i said in this topic i got the same problem after the first shield man i fast traveled back and can't go back to the fire camp the further fire camp available is the "map room" one and the steam prevents me to get through ...

I can't do anything i am on pc quick fix this please... :(

ok i think it is the same one that took me a while to get, i collected all of them.
i'll guide you to the one i think it is.

if you start with your back to the campfire go to the room on your right, climb up into the big gab ahead, and keep moving through the small crack and untill you get into the small U shaped room with all the water, go to the other side of the room and stand on the platform on the right side, take out your grenade launcher or explosive arrows and shoot at the wall ahead(on the right of the climbable wall) it shoot shatter and you should be able to go through jump up and find a collectible ;)

please let me know if this is the one ;)

I am located at Shipwreck Beach, I found my way down to the beach and I decided to skip along the "Travel to the Survivors' camp." instead, I proceed with a mini boat Lara can push around and I made my way up the mountains. Then, there is a tomb where the water is electrifying and I completed it. Afterwards I check my instinct and I went back to the survivor camp... I did not get the compound bow and did complete the task where the ships tower falls!
I am stuck and need help... I did a video as well to demonstrate... Please help!

P.s. I went to the beach first instead of going through my friends.... I did get the tool but no compound bow and no cut scene. Playing on Xbox 360

Hey there. I have some weird shadow glitching happening. Check the images for some examples.

My system is Intel i5-750 with 4gigs of ram, and AMD Radeon 6850 as my gpu, on Windows 7-64. GPU drivers are Catalyst 13.2 beta.

edit: Turns out this doesn't happen all the time, and updating drivers to 13.2beta7 didn't help afterall.

Game-Breaking Bug, CANNOT PROGRESS:

When I upgraded my Pry Bar tool to open the bigger salvage boxes, I am unable to open the new boxes that take the upgraded Pry Bar tool to open. I walk up to the box and the tool tip says to press 'E' repeatedly to open it. I then attempt to mash 'E' with ALL THE STAMINA I CAN MUSTER and its to no avail. The progress bar hardly fills at all.

Then when I got to the point immediately after upgrading the Pry Bar tool where you and Whitman both together pull the door open...totally unable to get that door to open, not more than a tiny bit on the progress bar.

Luckily, I have an XBOX game pad controller plugged into my computer. I'm able to progress through the game just fine with it as the input device, but not with keyboard and mouse. As well, if I start opening that door with the gamepad and then switch to keyboard/mouse I am able to get the door to open, but just barely.

I have an Alienware computer with an Alienware keyboard. I am going to look into whether there is some stupid setting in my keyboard software settings causing this problem.

I really don't think it's an issue where I'm just too uncoordinated enough in either of my hands that I cannot press the 'E' button fast enough. It's probably possible to crank that door open with my computer/keyboard but I bet less than 10% of people could do it.

I even tried it on Normal difficulty instead of the Hard I've been playing on and it didn't make a difference.

Rape Scene: I was TOTALLY UNABLE to complete this scene after over 20 tries with keyboard inputs. At the point you are asked to press left and right repeatedly, there is no quickness that I can achieve to get the game to believe I was pressing left and right fast enough. With the XBOX controller I was able to pass this scene's sequence FIRST TRY. I immediately escaped out to Main Menu and continued my game back to the rape scene and again tried the keyboard about 10 more tries. Not gonna happen.

I hope I'm the only one having this game-breaking problem with keyboard/mouse inputs. If I didn't have this XBOX controller setting next to me already purchased to play Dark Souls, then I'd be absolutely furious about this issue. Luckily I'm still able to progress the game, but swapping back and forth from game pad to keyboard and mouse is frustrating, as is attempting to pass these scripted scenes 20x with keyboard/mouse before I finally give up and do it first try with a game pad. Console port issue perhaps?

Bug #2: Items in Relic Viewer impossible to see at any Brightness setting

I'm not sure if this would be game breaking eventually or maybe just achievement breaking? However, I cannot see a damn thing when the Relic Viewer opens and a relic is being shown where you can right-click and turn it around. Some relics require turning them about to view extra things about them. On some relics, I can see the faintest outline of the bright spots reflecting on some relics. However, even at extremely high Brightness settings I cannot see the relics at all.

TressFx Hair disappears at certain angles .. sometimes even on cutscenes from tombs .. not only the hair but sometimes fences, doors and other world objects tend to disappear at certain angles .. some are just visible at certain angles .. i really hope you find a fix for this quick.

using the game on 1080p @ Ultimate settings runs super smooth without TressFX haven't checked if the disappearing stuff still happens but TressFX gives me a 50% or more performance hit on this system.

Please if you know any fix, workaround let meknow :)

I found a weird and annoying glitch after playing the game for a few hours. Lara's hair will sometimes disappear, making her head look shaved. This only happens when TressFX is enabled. Hopefully this issue gets fixed because the game looks amazing on ultimate settings.

Here's what it looks like. Her ponytail is gone and she has a shaved head. :scratch:

I got to the end of the mountain, was tied up. sneeks around and bad guy tries to assault Lara-first bug -have to keep pressing yellow button to get through, will not work when yellow icon appears.
2nd bug = fight for gun with bad guy above,get the gun -gun trigger wont work.have to tap blue button over 100 times to win fight, guy dies.
3rd bug- pick up bow and have no arrows
4th bug-get up the steps cut scene have gun (I have played this part over 90 times ) have gun ,shot first guy with a headshot ,other guy says "she's a great shot" ,Lara ducks behind crates and says "Leave me alone" other guy comes forward gun trigger wont work ,pick up ammo and run jump whatever reload gun trigger wont work again, again again,Lara dies.:mad2: Lara has axe why the hell can't she use it on bad guys?
5th bug= fast travel wont work

Hello,
There is a problem, that I've got during walking on the Cliffside Bunker level. I was going back to the camp from "Indurance" with some instruments (the "Gone Missing" quest), when most of textures around me disappeared and Lara just fell into nowhere and died there. The problem is that after her death, the game restarts in the same point, so Lara can fall and die again and again...
When I recognised, that my intention to finish the game in the nearest future is going to be failed, I had a weak hope, that relaunching the game (then relaunching the game with the lowest graphic settings) would fix it...
It did not.
I also tried to find and use some trainers and cheats in order to get out from that damned glitchy hole, but that didn't work either.

So, I would appreciate any help from you... Maybe you can tell me how to let the developers know about this issue or someting else...

this is exactly what happens to me .. in that same spot and in one cyclone fence later on ... also happens that the hair disappears from time to time .. but with tressfx .. haven't check without it ..

my advice .. start over .. i haven't experienced this one .. idk . maybe she wants you to warm her .. if you know what i mean :P ... i've had issues but not of scripting kind .. it looks like the game is running but she doesn't do anything so i say .. something happend to the script at it was running some kind of glitch that leaded the scene to continue .. so my advice is .. restart from checkpoint or something ..

I'm on PlayStation 3 and have run into a bunch of bugs in the game so far.

!WARNING! SOME OF THIS INFORMATION MIGHT CONTAIN SOME SLIGHT SPOILERS.





First off my setup details. I'm playing the PS3 version of the game. It is the disc version and it is the PAL version. I'm playing the game on a PS3 Slim, model CECH-3004B. I have the latest PS3 firmware installed. I also have the 53MB day 1 Tomb Raider patch installed. My PS3 is less than 1 year old. I am playing the game with all of the game's settings left on defaults. No changes have been made to the settings/options of the game at all. My PS3 is connected to a HDTV via HDMI.

Now on to the glitch list:

-SINGLEPLAYER GLITCHES-
#1: Audio bug. For some reason the background music tends to get stuck, kind of like a broken record or broken tape-recorder. This only happens with the background music. The sound effects and the voices seem to be unaffected by this bug. I experience this bug very often and it's really starting to put a downer on my enjoyment of the game. Usually when I load the last checkpoint it sorts out the problem, but after a while it comes back again. So far it appears that this problem only affects the PS3 version of the game.

#2: Skill glitch. At a certain point in the game I was awarded the Double Axe Strike skill without even spending any points in it. (Oh well, that is a good bug if you ask me). :)

#3: Blocked doorway glitch. Many times when I want to go through a doorway or cave entrance my character is blocked by an invisible barrier and I am unable to go through said doorway or cave entrance. Reloading last checkpoint usually sorts out the problem.

#4: Brightness glitch: Whenever I go into the menus to check the map or my skills or gear or so on the game's brightness suddenly drops (the screen gets notably darker all of a sudden). As soon as I exit the menus and go back to the game the brightness is back to normal. (This is not being caused by my TV because none of my other 30+ games have this issue.)

#5: The Roth Cut-scene glitch. Very early in the game you get a mission to get Roth's pack back from the wolves after Roth was attacked by them. Once you get the pack you are attacked by a wolf and must complete a QTE (Quick Time Event) in order to defeat the wolf. Once you get back to Roth with the pack a cut-scene is supposed to trigger. Sometimes this cut-scene does not trigger at all and I'm then left unable to go any further in the game. All I can do is walk around the area. If I try to access the camp fire next to Roth the game tells me that "Camp Fires can't be used when there is an enemy nearby". I check the entire area and there are no enemies at all. Usually reloading the last checkpoint fixes this issue. (I've heard reports of this same bug happening to other cut-scenes in the game. It seems there is a glitch in the game that causes cut-scenes to not trigger sometimes).

#6: Colour banding. There is some severe colour banding on the moon if you look at it during night time on the island. If you are unaware of what colour banding is look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_banding

#7: Performance drop. Whenever I play for more than 3 hours at a time the game's performance drops significantly and the game starts to lag. Usually restarting the PS3 system sorts out the problem, but in order to avoid this problem I have to restart the PS3 every 3 hours if I play this game.

Hey, I've played through my PS3 copy and I've found all the items (relics, gps, documents) and completed all the challenges. when I look at the map every section is completed to 100% and I've finished all the skills and fully upgraded all my weapons to 100%, but my save file is still at 99% complete overall, what could I have missed? Anyone having the same problem?

Are you sure you got everything in all areas? Not all areas have fast travel basecamps, so you could be missing those -- the main culprit probably being the military base on the shoreline. I would look at the map when you're not at a fire and scroll over each area to see. Otherwise the only thing I could think of would be if you don't have all of your weapons upgraded (not sure if that affects it though.)

I have the same card as you and have the same shadow glitch in the same place. Just after you hunt the Deer and come back to the woods.

Hope they fix this soon, as i stopped playing because of this issue.

I do believe that once you complete everything and you continue to explore the island you can go to the chasm ziggurat and if you go there you can replay the ending, that's why, IMO, it's always 99% because you will never completely finish.

I updated to the very latest 13.2 beta7 drivers and that specific criss cross pattern under her feet went away.

There are still some weird shadow level of detail issues though. Specifically, I can see an almost clear seam where the shadow detail changes (on highest shadow resolution) and it's super distracting. I'll try and get a image of what I mean.

Weird, cause from the changelog, the BETA 7 was made exclusively to fix a issue with Crysis 3.
Btw, good that it fixed this particularly shadow issue. I will give it a try.

About that shadow LOD issues, i already noticed it too, just didnt knew it was only happening in Ultra quality. I presume its normal because i already noticed this kind of abrupt transition in other games too, like Far Cry 2, Crysis and some Unreal Engine 3 based games.

I noticed a glitch with SSAO too. If you set it to Normal quality, a lot of horizontal lines appear in the ocean waves. This bug is fixed setting to Ultra, but it should definitely be fixed anyway.

I have got as far the mountain temple where you have to attack the Islanders and it went very glitchy and the camera kept jumping and I couldnt see where I was going. i then ended up in a hut with some wooden planks at the end. I managed to go through that and still had arrows tied to my back. It makes you jump from one section of the bridge to the next. I tried this and because of the arrows I died. I then respawned and the arrows were gone. I then walked up a hill where it tries to teach you how to do a silent kill with the bow and arrow. I dont have a bow and arrow so I get stuck here and cant go back or reload anyhting because it always brings me back to the same place. I cant go back in to the hut as it is now on fire.

Please can you advise me what to do or fix this as I dont want to have to start a new game!

I have 6850 too and had same issue on exactly same place but it happened when i was changing FXAA to 2xSSAA and 4xSSAA than some weird shadows followed Lara everywhere until i restarted the game and set FXAA.

I THINK that it happens when there is not enough GPU RAM but i am not sure i guess that it is the case.



Can you guys please tell me how much average fps you both have on benchmark since you both have 6850?
Just set High in options and don't change anything and run benchmark if that is not problem.

I play on 720p, everything maxed except no tesselation, no TressFX, no in-game AA (I use SMAA injector).
The benchmark gives me nearly rock solid 60fps when I have triplebuffered v-sync turned on.

I haven't played further than the first dinner camp yet, so I have no idea how it actually performs in proper gameplay.

Check the area called Cliffside Bunker. It doesn't have a camp for fast travel, you must go there on foot from Shipwreck Beach, which is why I didn't realize I was missing items from there myself.

I am having the same problem for the PS3 version.
Instead of going to the boat that the crew was trying to start, I went exploring a location that wasn't supposed to be accessible. Now, the waypoint remains on the broken boat, but the crew is just hanging around camp and only speaks of miscellaneous things and about "finding Alex." The game has skipped events and is stuck in limbo.

In the second part of the shanty town. After walking through that muck and the big fight under the tower with Grim, I accidentally fell back into the muck. Now there is a wall stopping me from going back to where the fight was and no way to climb back up. I have been running around for an hour and can't progress. If I reload a checkpoint it takes me to the camp behind me.

Edit: I'm running the game on my PC.

It's my understanding that triplebuffering is better, but I couldn't tell you why. Smarter men than me will probably do better job at it. I recall anandtech (http://www.anandtech.com/show/2794) wrote a pretty good article about it a while ago.




As far as the original topic goes, the more I run around the game, the more it seems like some kind of LOD distance setting is mucking up. Despite highest settings, the distance at which the highest resolution shadows come into play is really quite close to Lara. Way way too close I think.
It's entirely possible that it's by design, but I would love it if I could crank that up a bit.

I put time and effort in tomb raider that I found all journals and upgrades etc. starting all over is such a waste! This is the worst bug in a video game! Not being able to complete the story, I hope the developers fix this, because I see more and more gamers complaining about the same issue..

Tomb raider is a game to explore! And that is what I did. Now I am stuck :(

I'm getting weird graphics glitches that seem to occur more often during cut-scenes, but sometimes during normal gameplay as well.

Usually it's polygons that stretch from the edge of the screen to the center (or the point where the camera is centered), in front of everything else. Sometimes there are weird planes that appear within the scene, bisecting things in weird places. The screenshot with Lara holding the gun has both issues occurring at once.

Anyone else seeing this? My framerate is ok even when this is happening (probably around 30fps).

I also get weird, subtle screen twitches a lot, even when these more severe issues are not occurring, like everything is shaking a little bit.

I was able to play through some glitches, but I'm getting so many glitches in the burning village that I don't want to proceed without resolving them first.

Edit: Oh, and one more thing. In the QTE right before Lara has her first kill, the icon for the button I was supposed to press wasn't appearing until the very last moment I had to press the button. There was a shrinking circle, and then the icon would appear, but if I waited for it to appear it was already too late.

If they didn't want that area prematurely accessed, they should have made it UNREACHABLE! NOT work-around-able! That freaking wooden boat you could pull over to the rocky wall took me not a second thought before I did just that. Way too easy to glitch out the game, in my opinion.

Thanks Paul, yup, I noticed your thread the other day :) I turned off Post Processing and that fixes some issues, but not all. So as I'm not using Win 7 right now, I'm waiting for it to be fixed :)

This is before patch(i cant try it now since im way later in the game.Its the 3lvl,when you need to track wolf trails in the start.Right after you did all the stuffz(2nd part of level) Climb up radio tower,airplane crashed.I think its the last video before you need to find a airplane captain and his flared up location.

And after reading some topic about the "Shripwreck Beach" map and the glitches on it, i found a common basic problem behind all! The problem is the moveable boat and the fact we are able to reach the rocky wall with it. So i think all "Shipwreck Beach" stuck main mission is can be tracked back to there. If someone climb the wall without the compound bow, he never get the compound bow...

I got to the end of the mountain, was tied up. sneeks around and bad guy tries to assault Lara-first bug -have to keep pressing yellow button to get through, will not work when yellow icon appears.
2nd bug = fight for gun with bad guy above,get the gun -gun trigger wont work.have to tap blue button over 100 times to win fight, guy dies.
3rd bug- pick up bow and have no arrows
4th bug-get up the steps cut scene have gun (I have played this part over 90 times ) have gun ,shot first guy with a headshot ,other guy says "she's a great shot" ,Lara ducks behind crates and says "Leave me alone" other guy comes forward gun trigger wont work ,pick up ammo and run jump whatever reload gun trigger wont work again, again again,Lara dies.:mad2: Lara has axe why the hell can't she use it on bad guys?
5th bug= fast travel wont work

I sorted most of this out, when the gun didn't work took out bow even though had no arrows shot it then switched back to gun and it worked! but still having major probs when button icons appear took me a good hour with the wolf in the cave (there for Roth!)
can't do stealth kill buttons wont work. wish there were more than 3 save slots too! another thing I do head shots all the time uses less ammo but not getting any achievement for xbox - why?

Does anyone know if they are working on a patch to fix this stuff as quick as possible?

I'm on the PS3 and can't progress the story in Shipwreck Beach. Explored an area prematurely, and now the game wants me to search for Alex but skipped everything prior, including the Galleon section. No way to get the compound bow and progress...

I have the same problem. Can th developer answer this already! :mad2:

Im in shanty town and the game is no longer playable due to the fact that every time i climb out of the much to take down people the screen goes gray, but i still see that blood splatters so i know the display is not totally gone and i can see again when i die it shows me how i died. =_= i thought the delay last time was to fix problems like this......

Well I've just run into yet another glitch. (Keep in mind I'm on PlayStation 3). Sometimes when I'm out exploring, looking for relics, GPS caches, tombs and so on, when I get to an area's camp and try to use the camp fire in order to fast travel it tells me that the camp fire is "Not available when an enemy is nearby". I then check the entire area looking for this supposed enemy and can't find anything anywhere. It seems this glitch is caused by one of two things: either the game thinks that there are enemies nearby when in fact there are not, or an enemy has spawned inside an object (such as a wall), thus causing the player to be unable to see said enemy. Either way this needs to be fixed ASAP. I don't know why but it seems that in some areas of the game even if you clear out all of the enemies then sometimes the game still seems to think that there are more enemies in the area.

Patches for consoles will take longer, unfortunately. It's far easier to patch PC games. MS and Sony have to verify the patches first before allowing them to be released and apparently it costs about $40,000 to submit a patch so any company doing so is likely to ensure they have covered as much as possible in the patch.

Damn... I know a lot goes into this stuff... But, when I plunk down $100.00 for the PS3 Collector's Edition, and was thoroughly enjoying the HECK out of the game, just to be halted out of nowhere for simply exploring (what the game is all about), it is extremely frustrating, and I just want this patch out already, so I can continue this awesome game... :(

Got a bug I think, Lara turned into what looked like the female terminator from Terminator 3 when she was under the helicopter cut in half.

Bug where everything turned purple, green and red. I had to restart the game to get the game back to how it should be.

Yes, that patch was released but only briefly before it was withdrawn due to reports of save game corruption, which I experienced myself (and, as far as I'm aware, it has not been re-released even as a beta). Thankfully I was able to recover my save from the Steam cloud by deleting the files on the hard drive in the UserData folder. I now make sure I backup that folder after every game as even though I'm running the original build I noticed last night that my save showed 2% complete instead of 44% so I had to again delete the folder and let the game restore the save from the cloud.

This is one seriously buggy game for me. I can generally play for about an hour before it eventually crashes or freezes my system (and that's with tessellation and TressFX hair off as well). I don't think I've played a game this unstable since, ooooooooooo, the ghastly Ghost Recon: Future Soldier port from Ubisoft.

where the PC version of the game is concerned it all looks like the way The Sims 3 goes. one solution is to shut down all background programmes mainly because it's too much work for the graphic card! how to do this - on the task bar click on the windows button the one used to shut down the PC, or use search- type msconfig open it go to the startup tab and click disable all, click apply or ok then hit restart button in the pop up window and your PC will restart, your graphic card will do more where gaming is concerned. also anti virus programmes can slow down the graphic card so disable manually before playing, there is always a silent scan going on in the background and restart it after playing! hope this helps!

i do think its on purpose .. i had the same doubt but just after that .. there are a bunch of glitches that looks to me like camcorder glitches and twitches .. done on purpose to add a camcorder like feeling to the intro .. don't think it looks cool but i do think they put it there to add that feel ..

It's a known bug and is already being investigated. Short story, it's not possible to fix yet and you have to restart the whole game unless they release a patch this soon.

I'm pretty sure that effect on the menu with the logos of the game developers and publishers just before the main menu is done on purpose. It's to indicate that what you are seeing is being displayed through that camera that Lara carries around and the lines and glitch effects are to indicate that the camera took a knock during the destruction of the Endurance. (That effect occurs on all versions of the game, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3).

Anyway, I am now convinced that the "Cliffside Bunker" area in the game is completely broken. I have heard of many people encountering glitches in this area of the game and here are the glitches that I have run into in this area (on PlayStation 3):

-Some of the Documents I collect in this area don't activate at all. When this happens the player status/objective/map menu gets completely disabled and pressing the button to go into said menu does nothing.

-Sometimes the textures in this area are replaced by white textureless walls. This mostly happens in the area where you fight against a bunch of enemies right before you get to the Endurance.


I have to admit all the bugs I'm encountering in this game are really starting to pile up and it's really putting down my enjoyment of the game. :( The more I play the more bugs I run into.

This happens for me on PS3 as well, so I'm sure it's an intentional effect :)

This is exactly why this game's save system needs to be changed ASAP. Having only one save and not having any control over when and where the save occurs means that if anything happens to your save you are screwed. I've already stated my thoughts on how the game developers should change the save system in the "Feature Request" thread. Hopefully they take my idea into consideration with the next patch.

Anyway, is the original post in this thread still being updated? I see a lot of posts here listing bugs that have not been added to the original post. :scratch:

I don't know if this is intentional but when I enable tessellation the shadows change. It looks a whole lot better with tessellation disabled.

I am running ultimate settings (just for screenshots) but it happens on lower settings as well.

I am using the latest 314.14 NVIDIA beta drivers.

This new patch for the PC version doesn't seem to fix everything for me, alas, as I have the following issues still playing the game at 1920x1200 and Ultimate settings using the v314.14 beta drivers:

1. Hitching and split-second freezes whenever the game auto-saves;

2. Framerate drops to 1-5 fps if I switch FXAA to SSAA while TressFX hair is enabled;

3. The game still freezes my PC after about 45-60 minutes of playing it, albeit I was using the original Tomb Raider SLI flag rather than the Hitman Absolution one (I'm guessing this game still needs a more stable updated driver from NVIDIA?);

4. TressFX hair still causes a big performance hit, it still spazzs out with SLI and I've confirmed that it uses around 400-500 MB of VRAM. That means I can't use it with 2xSSAA otherwise I get even more hitching and 1-2 second freezes. Obviously my VRAM is a limiting factor here but I would hope that the optimzations promised for NVIDIA cards will include reduced memory usage too as well as better performance.

5. I'm seeing screen tearing with double or triple buffered v-sync enabled in-game which I wasn't before this patch. I do NOT have Adaptive V-sync forced either but the in-game setting is acting like that, maintaining v-sync and no tearing as long at the framerate stay at 60 fps; if it drops below that those v-sync is disabled and tearing occurs until the framerate returns to 60 fps.

What is fixed is the Exclusive Fullscreen mode bug (it now works without returning a "Failed to initialize Direct3D with current settings" error and the missing effects are now working without having to switch to windowed mode.

I'm starting to think I'm the unluckiest person in the entire world. I've just run into another glitch. :(

Details:

On PlayStation 3, once you have the Shotgun completely upgraded with all upgrades and modifications installed, if you shoot an enemy at point blank range then sometimes the enemy will instantly warp right out of the game world and this causes some weird texture glitch where everything suddenly appears massively stretched out and you can't see anything because of this. Restarting from last checkpoint fixes the problem, but it keeps happening every now and then whenever I use the fully upgraded shotgun on an enemy at extreme close range.

Shadow look really weird around the face with TressFX on. A bit too fat for thin hair.

TressFX is officially broken with this new patch on GTX680. It look horrible, the clipping is everywhere, it would go through Lara body, it would disappeared. Everything is just a mess, please fix or use the previous version of her hair before this patch. Her hair look disgusting on this new patch. :mad2:

I've found a game halting glitch, and it is also tied to the Shipwreck Beach, though in a different way.
After returning from the Endurance, during the Gone Missing quest, the survivors won't acknowledge Lara's return. Speech options are available, but they only repeat lines from before you went to find Alex. The quest marker will not change, and you cannot progress past "Return to the survivor camp on the beach."
I do think I noticed the trigger. During the return, while using zip-lines (while scene music played) I died. When re-spawned, using the the zip-lines no linger triggered the music. I'm beginning to think the whole area simply can't handle any sequence disruption.

The perils of having a game with only auto-saving checkpoints on the same files. All games, IMO, should certainly auto-save but they should also allow you to make multiple manual saves as well to prevent game-breaking bugs from halting your progress through it.

I've lost my save progress TWICE with this game on Steam but thankfully I was able to recover it both times because it is backed up to the cloud.

Tessellated surfaces seem to suffer from seaming, where the edges don't match up exactly allowing you to see into nothingness between the gaps.

Here's what I mean, taken from the shipwreck beach section (click on thumbnail to enlarge it):

SSAO - Ultra setting is broken in the newest update "PC Patch Released - 1.0.718.4 - March 9th 2013"

In the bottom 1/4 or so of the screen the effect isn't present since the update, I've had to lower to the normal setting.

The perils of having a game with only auto-saving checkpoints on the same files. All games, IMO, should certainly auto-save but they should also allow you to make multiple manual saves as well to prevent game-breaking bugs from halting your progress through it.

I've lost my save progress TWICE with this game on Steam but thankfully I was able to recover it both times because it is backed up to the cloud.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution has the best save feature known to man. Nuff said.

Other game developers would do well to follow the example of Deus Ex.

Anyway, I think it would help immensely if Crystal Dynamics could post up a possible ETA on a patch/title update for the console versions of Tomb Raider. Something like "expect a patch 6 months from now" or something. Just so that we can know more or less when to expect a patch/title update.

@Raphamon Mate,console patch's are adding to consoles in whole different way then PC,its not just adding files and uploading.It is a hard stuff and they need to be sure if everything is ok before they release it.On PC you can add it whenever they want.So its time consuming and ofc they cant ETA until they dont know how much time is needed to complete it.

I was playing on Xbox and I had entered "the flooded vault", an optional tomb, and I had to save quit. Later, I loaded my game, made my way through the tomb and back to the entrance and the door that you needed to pry open to get into the vault has reloaded in its original position and I am now incapable of opening from the inside. I tried dying, restarting my game and resetting the checkpoint and nothing has worked. The door won't budge. I am a tomb raider trapped in a tomb and I just want to get out. HELP!!!

im playing on the pc and after i beat the game and i went back to shanty town to try and find all the relics i used the fast travel there and now the map is not loading all the way and now im stuck there and cant get out tried everything anyone else having this problem on the pc version or on any of the consoles

TressFX is officially broken with this new patch on GTX680. It look horrible, the clipping is everywhere, it would go through Lara body, it would disappeared. Everything is just a mess, please fix or use the previous version of her hair before this patch. Her hair look disgusting on this new patch. :mad2:

There should be an option to choose which implementation to use...

In the second part of the shanty town. After walking through that muck and the big fight under the tower with Grim, I accidentally fell back into the muck. Now there is a wall stopping me from going back to where the fight was and no way to climb back up. I have been running around for an hour and can't progress. If I reload a checkpoint it takes me to the camp behind me.

Edit: I'm running the game on my PC.

YUP. I am stuck in the same place. Ran around for 2 hrs trying to get back up but nothing worked and I'm about to quit this great game.

I've seen a lot of other people having this problem as well, so it's not just me. For some, it eventually fixes itself. It has yet to do that for me and I have been trying for 2 days now, so this is 'potentially' gamebreaking.

Hi guys. I couldn't find this bug reported here so apologies if it's already somewhere else already.

Cliffside Bunker after you use the rope to pull down the crate to smash a hole so you can drop down (after you have been to the Endurance).
When dropping into this hole you should get a cutscene where Lara picks up a book on a desk under some leaves. This cutscene never activated for me so I never got the book.
Now I have collected everything else in the game except this document (it shows greyed out on my map) and have 99% completion but no way to trigger this cutscence to get 100%.

It would also be better IMO, to be able to set different levels of scaling for TressFX hair from Low to Medium to High and Very High, with a corresponding increase in the complexity of the hair simulation, so everyone can get a chance to use it from low spec to high spec machines. This would also allow people to lower the TressFX hair setting, even on high-end machines, to get a more stable framerate. At the moment there is just one very demanding setting that is very taxing on two GPUs!

-More shotgun glitches: Another glitch that seems to only occur once the shotgun is fully upgraded with all upgrades and modifications installed. Sometimes when I manually reload the shotgun the reload animation will go into a never ending loop. Moving around seems to sort out the problem by canceling the reload animation as soon as I start to move.

For some reason sometimes when I kill an enemy with the shotgun (fully upgraded) it causes a weird texture glitch in the game.

In multiplayer many times shotgun hits don't register at all. Even when the shotgun is used at point blank range.

(On PlayStation 3 by the way).

Im sure im not the only one who have screen tearing with triple buffering on. Double buffering sucks with the frame caps, with double buffering my game doesnt run fluid like it does with triple buffering so hope for a fix......

I am in a very small 'cave' with an illumination statue from which I can't return to the area with the waterfalls and the document, because there now is a hatch with rope (and that skill is not on my bow yet)

I must correct myself, it makes no matter what vsync (what comes with the game) i choose it doesnt work and causing screen tearing. Please list this as an issue, i was wondering that this isnt listed, maybe most people use Amds or Nvidias Vsync instead of the Games Vsync.

I must test Nvidias Vsync now but the Vsync from the Game doesnt work at all no matter what setting i use and its caused from the game because all my other Games work fine and thats not only a few.

Missing a camp in the mountain village with no way I can see to get to it. The one on the left side of the map below the treasure map icon. There is a post on the area that sometimes has a rope going up there but when I get to it the rope disappears.

@ Weyland Yutani - The only save I've found for Tomb Raider is in the Steam\UserData\[random number]\203160\Remote folder, where there's a profile and save1 file. I had to find this because I twice lost my save game due to corruption, thanks to all the freezing I experience; that and the fact the game auto-saves every 30 seconds are not exactly an ideal combination at the moment IMO. I was able to recover my saves from the Steam Cloud by deleting the Remote folder and they are 'rebuilt' when you next load up the game.

No, you're not the only one, I'm especially sensitive to screen tearing and noticed it straight away with the v1.0.718.4 build of the game when using double or triple buffered v-sync but only when exclusive fullscreen (EF) is enabled. If I disable EF then the tearing goes away too. The weird thing is that the tearing with EF only occurs when the framerate dips below 60 fps on my 60 Hz display then goes when it hits 60 fps again; in other words it acts like NVIDIA's Adaptive V-sync but I definitely do not have it forced in the driver.

To get rid of the tearing either run the game with EF mode disabled or force v-sync in the driver's game profile. It's definitely a bug as double and triple buffered v-sync worked fine with the v1.0.716.5 build.

I play in normal fullscreen mode dont tried this exclusiv thing because i read its for 3d gaming. And i tried to force it through Nvidia Control Panel but this doesnt work ill tried all settings but nothing works. Dont know if it is the fault of the latest game patch or the nvidia beta driver.

I already have, everyone there is convinced this is a bug and are wanting a patch, that's why I thought I'd post here. I have tried EVERY combination for 3 days now. I have tried pressing the button slow, fast, firmly, rhythmically, and then all those while wiggling the right analog stick. Then I tried that same process but on the keyboard. Then I d everything all over again after turning my graphics to the lowest settings and the difficulty to easy. No matter what I have done the outcome has not changed, I still die.

The ingame (presumably not prerendered) cut scenes such as when Lara first escapes onto the cliff top at the begining of the game appear zoomed and vertically cliped (e.g. the top half or the title "Tomb Raider" in the arorementioned scene is off screen) when playing in eyefinity (at least for me any way).

My screen resolution is 6048*1200 (i.e. 3x (1920x1200) screens), I'm using CF 7970s with graphics set to "ultimate" with the aspect ration set to "auto". OS win 7 (64). I appreciate that this may not be top of any bug fixing list, but ist would be nice if it was ironed out and removed.

The footstep sound. I´m playing the game with Studio Headphones (STAX SR-009 + headphone amp) as im also a DJ in rl.
I guess if you start listening closely you will notice it on any gear, but on headphones its getting a big annoyance.

The footsteps (especially noticeable halls or tombs) sound like a badly compressed 64kbit mp3 file full of artifacts (reminds of a flanger-sound effect( http://youtu.be/NAqQvs_WXs8?t=31s )) totally crappy on footsteps! it may be partly related to the applied hall effect but it doesnt works out. its driving me nuts once i noticed it.

please fix that, im getting crazy by this creepy unnatural footstep sound. should be an easy fix..

Symptom: Game freezes console upon continueing a saved game and when fast traveling between areas.

Description: The game recently started freezing my console up when I go to continue a saved game. I am currently 43% through the game so far but based on other peoples complaints Ive seen about the same problem it doesnt seem to be an issue with progression. When I do get the game to load I am unable to fast travel to another area as that too causes the system to freeze up. Essentially I am unable to continue playing at all or if I do get the game loaded am unable to proceed to a new area to progres the story. My current location in the game is the Mountain Village, and am unable to travel to the Shanty town.

Tried solutions: Cleared update and re-applied, installed game, un-installed game. No solution provides a permanant fix. System works fine with all other games.

Sorry it seems the screen tearing can only be fixed by forcing triple buffering and v-sync in D3DOverrider, a useful tool that came with the now discontinued RivaTuner 2.24, if you have exclusive fullscreen enabled. Make sure to leave the in-game v-sync option off (this is reported to improve stability too). If you don't have that tool already then you can download the standalone version easily enough by Google-ing it.

I thought that was a glitch to but its not. Once the scripted event happens where the bridge collapses its gone for good. There is a Campsite on the other side for this reason so you can fast travel back to that area afterward.

If you've seen the video, the glitched version never had the bridge primed to collapse as a scripted event to begin with. So you would, in theory, miss the jump and the scene afterwards. I guess you can play on from the next camp via fast travel - and as you mentioned, you'd have to do it later, anyway. Still a major bug! ;)

Textures missing at Cliffside Bunker when I re-visiting this location for the first time. My game completion is 96%, need to do two more things in the building but can't do it. Tried to restart the PC, and changing graphics options, but it kept there. :(

PC key binding bug: Key binding won't accept backspace, instead it deletes the key binding. Standard practice is to have backspace/delete the key binding before going into 'entry' mode (ie, when the binding is highlighted but not ready to enter a new key,) and accept backspace and delete as key bindings.

I have a non-standard keyboard, and binding backspace to jump is pretty much essential. Delete for crouch is nice, but without backspace binding for jump, it probably isn't worth trying to play on PC for me.

I selected Continue in the menu to resume my game, but instead the game started from the beginning and my save was lost.

More info:
When this happened, I was just before testing the game on a savegame from slot 2. Played for a while, then exited to the menu. Then I wanted to continue my original game in slot 1. I noticed something strange, it said my progress was 0%. When it loaded, it turned out my progress was indeed gone.
I'm sure I didn't overwrite my save on purpose, there was no question "do you want to overwrite?" nor difficulty level selection dialog.

On a side note, even if you select Continue in the main menu, but then click on an empty slot, the menu goes into "new game" mode and tries to overwrite your saves when you click on them. So it's easy to do this by accident too.

Ok I guess there are no backup saves someplace else? On steam or whatever? Guess I'm starting from scratch now :(

People who have any of the bonus DLC (such as the Hitman weapons, any of the DLC skins, the DLC Tomb, any of the DLC maps, etc.) are unable to join the multiplayer games of people who don't have this content and vice versa. The game just gives an error message stating that "The host is unreachable" or that "The host has a different downloadable version than you". This makes playing the game with friends impossible because I'm the only one in my friends group that purchased the Survival Edition of the game and now I can't join my friends and they can't join me. (They all purchased the standard edition and have none of the bonus DLC).

I encountered a bug where the zip line pole between Shipwreck Beach and Cliffside Bunker was gone, so there was no way to run a line between them.
Reloading the checkpoint fixed it.

The exact same thing happened to me. I have to add I didn't mess with a new save slot. I just played the game, always returning to it every few hours. I lost all my Stats on Campaign Mode when I reached the Beach [suddenly]. My save game said 0% progress and I was weaker than a toothpick. I still had all my weapons but lost all the upgrades. I lost all my skills and basically couldn't get past the level without using up all the available ammo because my guns were reset. Couldn't even get a stun with the pick axe. This killed the game for me after playing for 8 hours+. I'm not going to re-play this game cause it's all spoiled for me. Surprisingly, the game only hung once on me and I'm playing it on the PS3. :(

1. Had Major Bug:
After you find Samantha.. whitman leads some solari to you.. samatha escape and you have to battle in a room with pillars.
(in a cutscene 2 soldiers come)
after i shot the second one with pump gun i had a major texture bug - game didnt crash but it was not possible to continue (disorted brown textures all over the screen).(appeared right in the moment when i shot the second soldier with pump gun.

2. Guess the Ship Bug is well known - where you cant pull the box - to get in the ship.
Anyway - the solution for this bug is another bug -> walking 30times on the area that should crash - you may fall into the ship.

3. Multiplayer EXP exploit - multiplayer game should at least require 2 players..

BUT: This game is awesome - Lara´s new model is "real" and not just a fantasie sex model - the image of a sexy young student is much better.
The Multiplayer is also great but one idea:

4. A aiming help system would be great ( not a auto aiming system like gta), just when you start to aim -> it goes right on the target you are looking at.

5. There should be a difference between ranking and not ranking game.. every game should count. (useless)

6. Its should be possible to tell other players something like "good job" (every multiplayer should have this)

-PlayStation 3 multiplayer glitch-

People who have any of the bonus DLC (such as the Hitman weapons, any of the DLC skins, the DLC Tomb, any of the DLC maps, etc.) are unable to join the multiplayer games of people who don't have this content and vice versa. The game just gives an error message stating that "The host is unreachable" or that "The host has a different downloadable version than you". This makes playing the game with friends impossible because I'm the only one in my friends group that purchased the Survival Edition of the game and now I can't join my friends and they can't join me. (They all purchased the standard edition and have none of the bonus DLC).

I have this issue on the PC version as well. Any suggestions? Mine says "Unable to join because of downloadable content."

Gameplay Bug

Location: Mountain Village/Mountain Pass

When revisiting the Mountain Village hub, it is possible to use a rope-arrow with the compound bow on the craggy wall (It must be a zoomed in shot). And return to the area "Mountain Pass". However, doing so causes the game to freeze. And many visual artifacts occur, like invisible floor, sudden lighting change. etc.

The first time I lost the rope arrows I was down in the cave having to use it to move the swing arm so the bell would hit the gate. No rope arrows. I restarted the game from scrach and now where I pick up the rope nothing.
It came up and I had the rope in hand to pull the first building support bit nothing when needed to pull the crate. Just reg arrows. Using them I can move the crate but can not go past the first gap beyond the river needing to use the rope to make the first rope climb. No rope. I am playing on the XBox360.

I might have missed it, but I don't think this was posted.

The menus for upgrading at the fire camps sometimes show up reversed and mostly off screen. So, the text and graphic hologram is backwards and mostly off the edge of the screen. Quitting and restarting so far has fixed all issues like this.

I am on PC, Windows XP, GeForce GTX 560.

First time today I experienced a glitch with the environment failing to load. In the cliffside bunker, when you peep through the cracks and push through the opening to the other end, there's just nothing. Though, thankfully the game quickly caught up before I feel into nothingness and loaded it just before I was about to fall. :lol:

Also, another room in the Cliffside bunker was completely invisible today and I walked through it and my grenades were just falling into the depths below me, awkward. Stuff like this freaks me out. Glitches like this seem to be quite common for people here, how couldn't they have come across this during testing phase?

I have an Elevator glitch on Tomb Raider 2013 for PC. I got all 4 gears broken, the elevator falls and everything but if I try and jump down from floor 2 to floor 1 where the elevator is at the current time. I automatically die. I have closed the game and rebooted it and it still happens.

One bug was where Lara had to save her 3 companions locked up in the broken plane. She was standing on top of their plane and had to jump to another platform to crank up 2 gas pipes and shoot a fire arrow to "push" the plane rightwards. The metal walls covering the 2 cranks did not get blown up by the previous blast. They were still there. I could jump to the platform(where the cranks were), however I could only stand by the edge as the metal walls are blocking.

Didn't get the screen cap tho. If anyone has it... :)
Suicide to restart this scene solved it. :)

[!] I CAN NOT confirm the brightness problem on PS3 [!]

PS3 must be set to RGB Full Range HDMI (0-255) and if you have a quality TV the brightness is perfect - my black is the blackest black you can get.

I am playing on a new SONY HX855 and black is black - PLEASE NO CHANGES

BUT: i tested playing on a panasonic lcd tv that dont support full rgb range (HDMI)
and yes.. black was just a grey..

conclusion:
It just the depends on the TV - game settings are correct - no changes (if changes, then optional)
Some people will not like this - but your TV is the problem - not the game.

Minor glitch in Cliffside Bunker after doing all the stuff on the Endurance (Rope Ascender, Alex) and leaving. At this point in the game it's now nighttime however sunlight and daylight still cascade down on top and inside the bunker.

[edit: PS3 version after latest 1.02 patch update]

[2nd edit: this happened after returning to the site when I wanted to collect GPS caches I missed. For a while everything was correct--bunker was pitch dark--but when leaving that's when the area brightened up as day again]

PS3 Version after Patch 1.02:

Monastery where you fight the Solarii before or after the bell puzzle. I used the axe for some melee combat and all of a sudden Lara's animations froze. I could still move her around, but she was like a chess piece for a few seconds. The glitch fixed itself though.

Likewise, later coming back to the Shipwreck Beach from The Endurance, I used melee again and this time Lara froze completely when fighting the two guys before you descend back to camp. Had to restart the checkpoint to continue.

Those are the only two issues I've encountered so far and were fixed pretty easily with either a checkpoint restart or just waiting a few seconds, but it would be nice if they could be fixed.

I've been playing the PS3 version while I was waiting for the PC version to be fixed (which it thankfully is now) and noticed that everytime I used the Instinct mode (L2) that the game would look washed out, as if the brightness had been turned right up.

Hi, I'm playing TR on PS3 with the latest patch 1.02,

Whenever I discover a new Relic whilst logged onto PSN, the Relic graphic displayed is incorrect, and always displays the Kanpo Herb silhouette.

If I navigate away and go back to the Relic view the correct graphic is then displayed.

I've attached two screenshots which highlight the bug, as you can see the first image was taken immediately after finding the Brown Jade Ink Box, yet the Kanpo Herb silhouette is displayed. The second image is how it appears after coming back to the relic progress screen.

Stat tracking seems to be glitched. (The game keeps track of your stats. You can go check out your stats at the game's official website). However, it seems there is a problem with the stat tracking. According to my stats I completed the game in 1 hour and 58 minutes. (According to my stats that is my total singleplayer play time). This is most certainly an error. I can assure you it took me ALOT longer to complete the game than just 2 hours. (I'm on PS3 by the way).

This is a known glitch on the PS3 version of the game. Sometimes if you use the shotgun to kill an enemy it causes a strange texture glitch in the game which blocks a large part of your view. According to the patch notes the 1.02 patch/title update fixed this issue. So download and install patch 1.02 and see if that fixes the problem.

Is anyone else having frequent freezes/crashes on the multiplayer on xbox? Whether it being during a loading screen, at the end of a round or even just mid match.

I'm not going to pretend to be a "know it all" when it comes to servers and all that stuff, but how did no one catch these things? Or why didn't it become apparent prior to release? Is there something insanely wrong with the servers?

Also, does anyone know why it seems near impossible to even find enough players to start a match? Sometimes my game searches for a match on ranked, public team deathmatch, and can't find any, so the game creates a lobby.. Am I the only one searching for the most common type of multiplayer style?!

Any insight would be very helpful in my understanding of the issues. I would LOVE to continue playing (mainly for achievements, ha!) the multiplayer, but with the constant crashes and lack of anyone ever seeming to be playing it, I find it hard and concerning to keep trying.

After getting the fire striker and blowing up the fuel tanks, no cutscene occurred. this was three days ago, on ps3. have tried to reload check point, came up buggy where Lara starts in the hut where the fire striker was, but the fuel tanks are already on fire. stuck there at the moment cant proceed. has anyone had this problem? any suggestion? otherwise gonna have to restart... :mad2:

I just wanted to add that the game thinks that you are in mountain decent when you enter the Chasm Shrine room where the bell is hanging (we cannot see the bell due to rendering issues).

When I entered the room I checked my map and it said I was on mountain descend???

Maybe this information will help devs with their troubleshoot for a solution. I really hope you can fix this

A few people have complained of this and found they are not pressing the right button. What platform are you playing on? Are you sure you are hitting the right key/button?

That's actually very interesting, it seems that leaving "a "guy alive" during that fight in that particular stage has an impact on both bugs:

1. People cannot take down the fence with their bow (chasm monastary bug)
2. You enter the chasm shrine that is not fully rendered (chasm shrine bug)

When Lara avoids all the enemies and she's climbing again up (After the guy almost broke her neck).
She won't respond to any controls. I mean you push forward but she goes backwards and then she stops responding.
You have to get killed for the bug/glitch to disappear.
It happened to me 2-3 times after my first playthrough.

I will not even talk about the slowness of the characters and the chaos that reigns in the maps, the game has an noticeable input lag, but the two things that make the multiplayer unplayable are the continuous disconnection from the server and the glitches that force you to restart the game and sometimes the ps3. this thing is extremely irritating and annoying as almost half of the trophies are multiplayer and I always complete all the games with platinum. It 's frustrating if not impossible to reach level 60 or win in all 4 MP mode. ps3 version / european version.

While I am not saying there isn't issues with the MP, I don't think your issues are typical. People are enjoying playing MP and I for one have only 3 MP achievements left. Have you searched the forums to see if people are having similar issues and if there are any suggestions that may help?

I've not searched in other forums and or other people if having similar issues, but I started playing the mp about 4 days ago after finishing SP campaign (one of the best game of this generation, I like very much the sandbox concept of the game), and every time I had disconnection problems or when I was killed, I could not back in the game, stuck in the waiting room for the respawn and forced to restart the game. I tried the crysis 3 mp to see if it's my ps3 or a connection issue, but I have not had any issues with Crysis3.

1. I got Kicked out of a match twice Due to Game Crashing To Desktop(2x)while I was owning

2. this happened at first when I first join a (Late Game Session)Join game in progress as im getting 2 kills I tried to go for a (Behind the back melee kill) but I did not get it off cause the game skipped badly first then I tried it again and Boom crashed to desktop

After you talk to Roth about saving the pilot or not (when you see the blue smoke) you go down a rope and fight 3 guys. On the right hand as you descended down the rope there is a house. Enter that house and you see a barricade on the left hand which you can't break since you don't have the shotgun yet. The problem is that there's a separating wall that you can't see if you're not standing in one particular point and with the camera pointed in a specific angle.

For the xbox version, I've been experiencing nonstop issues with the Action Sequences where you're required to shake the left analog stick left and right.

Only with the shaking do problems come in. As in, it simply does NOT work. I couldn't even complete the introductory level (stuck in there for 30 minutes) until I stopped shaking as the game indicates and instead spun the analog stick in a circle.

This wouldn't be a continuing problem except now I'm at the action sequence on a metal bridge (another 30 minutes...) and now neither shaking or spinning seems to work.

I've tried shaking, spinning, using both sticks, switching controllers, switching xboxes. And this isn't an issue of not being fast enough as action pressing is a favorite of mine.




Also note that I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and that might be whats causing the problems.



EDIT (FIXED): nvm. Apparently I'm shaking the sticks too fast. I needed to shake slow when the game's telling me to go fast. Not sure how to respond to this stellar programming.

I'm playing in Xbox360 and although I have enough arrows I can't use fire arrows. I select FA in the menu but I only shoot normal arrows. It happens mostly in caves an after a while it works again normally.

In tears well tomb I fell across the floor grate when I was trying to get to the platform.

I just noticed that the "Block & Tackle" bug is no longer listed in the OP, fixed or otherwise, I think I recall hearing that an update had fixed it for people that had yet to encounter the bug [in other words, the patch prevented other people from getting said paid], but there's been nothing said about a patch for those that have run afoul of it.

Why was it removed? D:

Hi, this threads is for gameplay issues only, rather than installation or graphics card type errors. There are other threads dedicated to those and it helps top keep similar problems in one place.

Am why did you add graphic glitch issues when you only want to add gameplay issue ? I said Tesselation cause a graphical glitch, The graphical glitch that is known. This issue do match to other things from your master list, you have frame issues and freezes in there so i dont understand why you wont add this issues or at least one of them. Its simple and many know that tesselation causes graphical glitches and crashes and has nothing to do with installation or graphic card type errors. Thanks

Its still there, it was renamed "Moving the boat on the beach creates story quest problem ". I will add some text to make it more obvious.

You are absolutely right, there are a couple of graphic issues in the master list. These were added in the early days of the thread, but it soon became apparent that PC Graphics issues were a much bigger issue and many threads opened up dedicated to those. I therefore decided that this thread should concentrate on gameplay issues only but these original entries have been left.
