I'd be pretty disappointed if the game turned their back on the music style of previous games. That said, generally sound is one of the last things to get integrated when a game is made - I'm holding out hope the new composers do the series justice with a similar orchestral/electronic flavor.

(To tell you how much this matters to me, I play the BM soundtrack in my car almost every day!)

The music/soundtrack for Absolution is fantastic and what you hear in the Run For Your Life trailer is only a small part of that.

To be clear though, Jesper Kyd is not working on Hitman: Absolution.

Understood - it's cool that Jesper Kyd isn't working on the project. I'm definitely looking forward to it: I have faith in IO's creative direction. :)

We'll go into more depth about the audio in the game a little closer to release when we have some more cool stuff to show off.

I think you'll like what you hear.

Only Jesper Kyd can do the Hitman series justice. If the music anything like what I heard in the trailers. It's going to suck.

This is one player who (if he buys the game at all), will be turning off the music and running Jesper Kyd soundtracks in the background.

Come on dude, you haven't even heard a large portion of the score. Why not give the new composer(s) a chance? Such a close-minded approach will only stifle creativity. Why not wait and watch (or hear in this case) before judging?

Honestly if Jesper Kyd were to read this he wouldn't be too appreciative.

Ok Bloodmoney has the worst sound track of the series and that song is terrible. Jesper Kyd must of thought He was make the song tack for God of War because thats what it sounded like, it doesn't fit a game about a hitman.
The music in the trailers sound way better than that, Jesper did good music on the other ones though.

I know it's your personal taste..but doesn't the track resonate with an ominous feeling of approaching doom? it's like the perfect background score for a kill

That track from BM is simply badazz - for an extra chill, go translate the lyrics from Latin into your native language.

The track from the Casino level in BM is one of my favorites: strong electronic influence, and a clear command of sequencing across multiple instruments/samples.

To be fair I have to go hear earlier Hitman soundtracks to compare...

Beyond that, I simply don't believe in writing off any artist because they are new to a project. While Jesper leaves big shoes to fill, I'd reserve judgement on HM:A until we hear the final results.

Have to disagree there. While I like the new trailers music, I think BM had a phenomenal ost(accept for the spotted theme, that one was weird). How can you beat this awesome theme?

it will be difficult to have a good soundtrack good as jesper kid did at least. i only hope that the new music, have classical music, cause hitman is not a action hero, like rambo or so...

Agree with Garettgk: Jesper's style always brought movie-style-orchestral with an experimental electronic edge. Hitman needs that - it's both relaxing to listen to, but with some harshness.

When your caught and the guns come out the action music will play its that simple.

The only thing that I didn't like was that Inception thing everybody keeps doing for some reason.

Agree with the tendency to copy the inception-style sound track - reminds me of what happened after the first Matric movie.

For Jesper's style, take a look at his anthology: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesper_Kyd

Ave Maria:D [i Hope for Ave Maria]and Hitman

AFAIK, Ave Maria was only in Blood Money - it's usually played at (Catholic) funerals, and tied to the story of that title. But it seems the movie carried on with it.

The ongoing theme might be "Hunted" and it's variations, which has a men's chorus chanting in Latin.

does he want too much money, or could the two parties just not come to terms?

a reason is all i ask, because he is every bit as iconic as the games have become..its like sex w/o the cigarette aftermath....

the chants were awesome yes. maybe i do need some fresh air.
