View Full Version : 7600-LAGFIX

The settings contained within the .reg file below were optimized to get max performance with my 7600GS AGP video card on a 3.0ghz HT dual core with 2GB Ram.

The results are quite amazing. I'm guessing i've gone from ~15fps to around ~40fps (Not running Fraps..) with a slight amount of stuttering (in the area I tested within). I've gone through each setting 1 by 1 and have therefore created the best fix possible for my low end machine.

This will come in handy for those stuck on an Nvidia 7600 GPU or there-abouts.. Seems the game 'might' be very playable if you have a 7600 :) - I've not run through much of the game with these settings. But results have been great. After some hours of tweaking it's now very playable for me :) - sweet!

DXHR-7600-LAGFIX.REG (http://www.filefactory.com/file/cd520d5/n/DXHR-7600-LAGFIX.reg)

The settings included in the .reg file are as follows:

(copied from the .reg file)
(ATI users note: you may need to set ""AtiForceFetch4" from "0" to "1". Someone please verify)

Some other tips:

In the "Nvidia control panel" --> click "manage 3d settings" --> "Program Settings" --> set the following for Deux Ex HR..

Anisotropic filtering: App-controlled
Antialiasing setting: App-controlled
Antialiasing - Transparency: Multisampling
Maximum pre-rendered frames: 6 (reduce if you experience too much mouse lag. Raise for FPS boost.)
Negative LOD BIAS: Allow
Texture filtering - Quality: Performance
Threaded optimization: Auto
Triple buffering: Auto (is turned off in game .reg anyway)
Texture filtering - Anisotropic.. : On
Texture filtering - Trilinear Optimization : On
Vertical Sync: Use 3D app setting (is turned off in game .reg anyway)

Well that's it.. I hope this helps people with lower end machines like myself :) - Peace out.

Could one of the Mods please rename the title to 7600-LAGFIX or something more suitable as this fix is not just limited to people with "AGP" cards. Cheers :)

Done :)

*bump* - Just making sure people get a chance to see this lagfix.. People with better machines could use this as a template for their own tweaks... To start off with (on a high end machine) you should get no stuttering at all with this fix.

Some feedback would also be good... Although i'm about to be offline for a month or so :( - Thank god i've got this awesome game to play lol.

You fail to state what OS, WinXP or Win7

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this fix.

I have a single core 2ghz machine (ancient, I know), and an x1000 series ATI (AGP) card. Before applying this fix I was lucky to get 10fps while motionless, and 5fps on average.

Now I'm getting a MINIMUM of 15fps, with an average of 25fps.
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar, I can't thank you enough.

Do I just double click the .reg file or do I need to put this somewhere specific?
