I picked up my copy of the PS3 version of the Augmented edition of the game, on the box it says the bonus disk has a soundtrack..

Well i popped it in and went into it, when i went to "The Score" as it's called on the disc, it says to get the music, i have to insert the blu-ray into a blu-ray drive on my computer...

Seriously? Is that the only way to get access to the soundtrack on the bonus disc? Is to have a blu-ray drive on my computer? There's gotta be something i'm overlooking...

Please help, i want the soundtrack :(

Yeah I have that issue too. I just joined the forms today to see if others were having issues. this sucks, all i want to do is listen to the soundtrack without looking it up online and now i cant even do that. i hope someone finds a solution. I have the game on PS3 also just to clarify.

Same here, why not just give an iTunes coupon or something of that nature? Also, the pre-order bonuses(Gamestop) are not included in the AE, and are included in the case for the regular edition. Is this a mistake or are we actually left out of pre-order bonuses?

shepard91

Yeah I don't know why they didn't make it a regular DVD disc

the pre-order bonus codes are on your receipt, at least mine was..I'm really irritated about this soundtrack issue..its the only reason why I spent the extra 10 bucks on the AE

The bonus disc is actually a dvd, not a bluray (well i mastered it as a dvd).. you can put this into your pc fine.. the soundtrack is MP3 files so you can put them onto your ipod etc

I have the augmented ps3 version as well. I was very excited to listen to the amazing soundtrack, however I have no BD drive on my computer... who does!? I'm not sure why we can't just install it to our ps3... I hope they can make this available to use some other way... really bummed. Game is amazing so far though!

No, its shows the title of the disc and a screenshot..the same way as a BD would appear

it appears under video with and everything is fine when i get the the bonus dvd menu where it has view the motion comic and game trailers, but when i select score which i assumed was the soundtrack it says to access the soundtrack or something like that please insert the BD disk into the BD drive in your computer and download the files. I don't have a Blu Ray drive i my labtop and its only a year old and neither does my 2 month old Mac book Pro. A lot of labtops still don't have Blu Ray drives for some reason, at least when i look around.

Yeah, I kind of expect that. Maybe eidos will be kind enough to just make the soundtrack available for download which they should of done in the first place. They should of provided us unique codes. Does anyone know if the xbox or pc version have the same problem?

Thanks guys, I'm sure someone will upload the soundtrack soon enough... just sucks that I can't access the version I purchased. It should have been made clear how the soundtrack would be accessed but it was not. Had I known this, I would have just got the pc version or the standard edition.

Hey guys, i'll make this quick and short. One of these issues may have already been discussed:

1. Control mapping problem: The Enter key is unmappable. This has likely been mentioned already, as i've seen it in a few previous threads. Eidos, may you please allow Enter to be mappable in the next patch? It baffles me how this was missed during beta testing and not fixed for the release of the game...

2. Sound problem: The music in the background is VERY faint, and to have the overall total volume increased, I have to turn my volume up on my speakers 50% more than I have to for other games I play. I am confident this is NOT an issue with my PC or settings, as I do not have to do this for other games I play. All volume sounds are cranked right up in the settings. I cannot find any other sound settings in the game that would fix this issue. It seems like the sound (especially the background music) in the game is naturally set to an abnormally low level to begin with. Does anyone else find this is the case for the game? I'm hoping this can be fixed in a patch??

That is all, thanks!

Bump.

I am also having the same problem. I just got off work and picked up my PS3 augmented edition from Gamestop. I was really looking forward to listening to the awesome music from this game. Actually the main reason I bought the augmented edition was for the soundtrack.

But now when I insert my Bonus "DVD" into my computer it doesn't read it. I believe this disc is actually a Blu Ray disc.

Same Here. I can't remember the last game I played that was only in stereo- Makes me angry seeing that Dolby Digital logo pop-up.

All I am getting is stereo sound! No center, no rear. I go to play another game and what do you know? Surround. Back to Deus Ex and no surround.

Looks like there maybe larger issues floating around in this forum for the Devs to fix but this is still ridiculous.:mad2:

So what I'm getting here is, you didn't bother putting any hd content for the PS3 AE, put it on a blu-ray so pretty much no one could get the soundtrack, and to top it all off I don't get a pre-order bonus because I pre-ordered the AE when it was first announced. Thanks a lot eidos.

Sounds a lot like you didn't even bothering putting in valuable content for the PS3 bonus disc. Hey, who needs hd content and blu-rays anyway. Even more reassuring is not knowing what even went into this version.

Non-cutscene dialogue sounds muffled, tinny, and far away. I have the feeling it's due to me not having surround sound, but, still, it's annoying, and I hate having to run with subtitles on permanently. Why isn't there an option to choose between stereo and surround sound?

Everything else sounds fine. It's just the dialogue that's screwed up.

guys, calm down. i found out the soundtrack included is just high quality samples. just wait a couple of weeks and someone will probably have ripped the audio from the game. you can use that. this soundtrack, however, is pretty weak. If you want it right now, then most of them are on youtube. you can download the videos and rip the audio using a video editor. i know, it may take a while. so for now, just use these vids, http://www.youtube.com/user/MioRaem#p/u

I'm another "my pc can't recognize the bonus disk so I can't listen to the soundtrack" victim. I know it's silly, but this soundtrack is a big selling point for the Augmented Edition. The music is excellent and I'd love to transfer it onto my ipod when I can. Please include me on the e-mail list if there's ever a fix. Thank you.

I just put the Bonus disk in my BD and there is indeed a MP3 folder with 12 mp3 files of 320kbps format.
My DVD drive does not read it at all , the disc says Bonus DVD in the fine print, must be a typo or the same label that goes on to the Xbox version. (the user manual also has some xbox terms in it by mistake)

Does it play the other bonus content when inserted into your PS3?
Check if there is any updates to your Bluray drive in your computer, not sure but worth checking at least

Just to rephrase :

Thanks for the information.
The main problem, however, is the box and description CLEARLY state it's a DVD and the soundtrack is inaccessible to a vast majority of people. If the soundtrack was accessible via the PS3 and could be transferred, it would be no big deal. Since you were able to access the soundtrack, could you let us know the tracklisting? Is it a sampler or full soundtrack? Thanks!

On my PC, my sound is popping a lot and the volume seems quite quiet. There are also issues with audio become desynced (especially with voices) and environmental audio just abruptly cutting out. Other than that and a few AI issues the game was amazing (yes, I beat it already on the hardest difficulty)!

I can't believe how much Eidos/Square screwed us over!!!! The #1 reason I bought Augmented Edition was for the soundtrack... and I can't access it because I don't have a Blu-Ray drive on my PC. WTF?!

And to add insult to injury, the soundtrack isn't even the full thing, just samples? This is insane.

I think we should sue Eidos for false marketing!!

I really dont think we need to go that far.

True, this whole situation sucks, but like someone said earlier, the music can be heard on youtube full tracks all.

Let it be known that I am very disappointed that i wasted 10 dollars for the AE, I don't believe Eidos is fully to blame.

Someone in marketing definitely screwed up somewhere, but I hold Square Enix Liable to some degree because they are the publisher, but thats just my opinion of the whole situation in a nutshell.

Its bs to say you get a soundtrack, make it inaccessable for most and have samples at that. They should really ask us to provide proof of purchase and send a link of the full soundtrack that exists on youtube.

Hi guys just wanted to chime in here my bonus disc also does not read in a DVD drive but runs on the PS3, I'm unable to pull the score off of it. However I have a question, is it true the "score" on this disc is just a bunch of MP3 samples? If that is the case it does not justify 69.99 in my opinion at all.

I am confident this is NOT an issue with my PC or settings, as I do not have to do this for other games I play. All volume sounds are cranked right up in the settings. I'm hoping this can be fixed in a patch??

That is all, thanks!

Bump.

Reagarding #2) This is the same for me. The volume sliders are all maxed out, but the games overall sounds are very quiet. It forces me to have to double my speaker output just to get a "normal" sound level.

I have a theory its due to an over exaggeration of how the game handles positional audio. Here's what I've noticed: When I turn on a TV in game, I'm so close to the screen to click the action button and the TV's audio is perfect. The moment I take a few steps away from the TV the volume drops drastically.

To be fair, its an additional 10, the other 59.99 is for the game.
Still, the score is a series of mp3s (high quality apparently) and they seem to be of decent length. Too bad most of us can't get to them!

True, and so far I really do like the game. My combat rifle modded with laser sight and target seeking, but no silencer, makes no sound when firing. It does not make a silenced weapon sound, but makes no firing sound at all. Unmodded combat rifles make the proper sound.
This is on PC version, Creative X-Fi card.

I'd really like to know if there is some fix for this, after putting all those mods on that weapon. I tried to tweak the sound quality options but... there aren't any.

It occurs to me that I put two rate of fire mods on it as well, and that may be what is causing this, but I don't have the mods lying around to troubleshoot.

Any updates to getting the soundtrack for those of us that purchased the Augmented Edition for the PS3?

I am really disappointed in my purchase. I specifically bought the Augmented Edition because on the back of the box is States:

An exclusive bonus DVD featuring:
*44 min making of
*Game Soundtrack
*E3 trailer and animated storyboard
*Motion Graphic Novel adapted from the official series by DC Comics

Video game music is one of my favorite things to listen to, so it really bums me out that I purchased a soundtrack DVD only to find out I can't actually access the songs. There is no mentioned that you need to have a computer with a Blu-ray Player in order to receive the Game Soundtrack. In my opinion this would be like purchasing a DVD movie at the store only to find out you need a Blu-ray Player to listen to it.

I am going to send a formal complaint to Eidos, Square Enix or whoever is the correct customer service contacts.

Secondly, I'm having an issue with the cutscenes (the ones that look like prerendered cutscenes) where every few seconds it'll skip over a small piece of audio. It get's fairly annoying during the longer ones (like the first cinematic and the intro credits cinematic). I've made sure to update my audio driver. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a noticeable delay between image and sound, it's very annoying and a totally breaks my game experience.

For exemple : when you fire your weapon, the sound is not synchronized with the muzzleflash

Check the video here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVFYQL5zC6Q

The lip sync seems broken too (dunno if it's the same issue).

All my drivers are up to date and I run fime all other games I own.

We need a patch really quick ! Thanks.

A similar issue is happening to me as well. The difference is that I bought the PC Augmented Edition. The disk will not play in the DVD drive of my PC. I can see the MP3 files when I open it up but I can't play them or move them to any place on my hard drive.

Out of curiosity from this thread I decided to pop it into my PS3. It was detected right away and I was able to access all the bonus features short of the score because that tells me to use it on my PC for that.

I think it may be a DVD issue though. When I took a look at the back of the DVD I can see a faint... problem area. For lack of a better overall way to describe it. Have you ever burned a CD/DVD but only filled it part of the way? Then when you look on the back you can see the burned part vs the non burned part? Think of it like that, only it is NOT uniform in any sense of the word. That edge is very wavy. I'd take a picture but I don't currently have access to a good digital camera. Maybe I'm alone in this problem since I have the PC version but is anyone else seeing similar issues on the back of the disk?

Sure, though I dont really know what to add to the list above.

Asus P5B Mainboard
Core2Duo E6600 @ 2400MHz
2x2GB DDR2 800 Corsair Ram
Sapphire Radeon 5770 VaporX OC

Creative X-fi Xtreme Music
Some kind of Hitachi HDD, 500GB 7200rpm

Windows 7 x64
Avira for antivirus (turned off)
All drivers & Windows up to date.

In the games´settings I have everything maxed out with v-sync enabled.

As mentioned before, jaycw2309´s hint about EAX and further effects minimized the delay, which unfortunately remains noticeable though.

I have another strange audio issue, specifically in conversations.

In the game normally and when a conversation starts everything is fine, but after being in the conversation for 30s or so the sound starts to stutter and click. If a conversation goes on for over a minute it deteriorates to a point where it's physically uncomfortable to listen, and it skips and crackles like your grandmothers record player.

I have no issues whatsoever beyond this, neither in this game nor in any other.

I have tried with 2 different sound cards and one USB-soundcard, it's the same with all.

Might have been a bit wrong about sound lag/delay when jumping and throwing objects, but there is really something wrong with the combat rifle, it sounds like your firing more bullets than you do, if you fire one, it sounds like you fire two, if you fire two it sounds like you fire three and so forth.

@Industriality do not circumvent the swear censor (yes i know its a mature rated game, but your response was far from mature). As for the issue about drivers etc, its actually the most common fix we hear.. Sound drivers are even MORE of an uncertainty over video drivers, thanks to the widespread `chipset` but different revisions of SAME chipset used by each motherboard manufacturer etc.. RealTek HD is the most common sound `chipset` out there, however there are SO many different versions of it, yet people will just see the RealTek name and think they all the same..

What actual sound card/chipset do you have?

Stop it now, it is not hardware related.

I have 4 different soundcards and I don't use low quality onboard soundchip, the sound delay issue is present with all of them !

Maybe you didn't read the topic, but people using USB DAC (usb dac is usb soundcard, like usb headphones I own one too, 500€ Bower&wilkins MM-1 speakers with highennd headphone DAC) using generic Win 7 software drivers has the sound delayed too.

This time again you cannot blame the hardware or the drivers as they are a Win 7 standard feature.

And I have already said this, my rig runs perfectly with dozens of other games. Even the BF3 Alpha (wich was heavily bugged) runs fine !

Drivers change all the time, break things, fix things, if we dont know which driver version/date you are running its hard for us to pinpoint if its a universal issue or not.

USB based sound devices are very different they still need drivers to make them work with Windows naturally, yet they are then having to use the usb for powering them etc, so its very common for update drivers to be released to optimise them over time.. You say you have 4 sound devices, you only name 1 tho, what are the others, if you've plugged them into your machine then you windows setup will have all those drivers sitting within the OS possibly causing a clash (simply uninstalling will not clear all files as windows will always keep hold of information regarding hardware config changes etc)

CS will always start at the beginning with EVERY customer, they have to there is no way for them to suddenly know everything about your issue, and software you running etc, unless you give exact specific information (just saying `latest` means nothing to be honest - we need exact version numbers and dates)

I have this issue and my sound card is Asus Xonar DX. But I found out on different forums that this problem is also present on creative, realtek and via sound cards. I would be very surprised to find out that the sound delay problem is there because of the sound card or sound card driver. I think that this problem is present to the majority of players, but few are actually realizing that it's there or they are not bothered by it. I bet that the issue is easy to reproduce. Test a few different OS using Windows 7 64b with different configurations and one of them at least will have it. I also understood that this is also present on consoles...so clearly no sound card fault.

I also experience a slightly unsynced audio. I also have problem with the audio lagging/dissapearing for a couple of seconds only in the tutorials, the hacking tutorial was the worst.
The biggest irritation though is the lack of surround sound, i'm unable to get 5.1 it only plays in stereo. And works fine in Bad Company 2, splinter cell conviction and all of my 5.1 movies. This is ofc with 6 Ch Direct on my z-5500 speakers with the three 3.5 jacks straight into my onboard soundcard. No bull**** "virtual surround" or other settings, just straight 6ch direct.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Asus P7P55D PRO (SN: A3MOAC782447)
VIA VT1828S (onboard soundchip)
Gigabyte GTX 460OC (factory overclock) (Driver: 280.26 WHQL 2011.08.09)

Extendet informasion about the VIA VT1828S
Package Version: 8.7.00.30
Codec Version: VT1828S
Driver Version: 6.0.1.8700

That is the latest drivers for the VIA chip, but i was unable to find a date. This should be sufficent information i think. And i don't understand why i don't get surround, and i also don't understand why there is no settings for it. But others have gotten surround, so it is supported?

Can you talk a bit about which audio standards the game supports? I'm guessing only 6ch direct 5.1?

All threads are being monitored..

Hey jaycw, I have the audio delay issue and here are my system specs:

intel i7 930 @ 2.8ghz
2x nvidia evga gtx 470s in SLI
realtek hd audio (driver version: 6.0.1.6438 / codec: ALC1200 / directx version: 11.0)
12gb ram
asus p6t se mobo (cross-flashed with p6t bios)

I have a different problem, after some time sound completely disappears, not only in-game, I know only two ways to treat it, one is reboot, other is disabling and enabling audio device again. Never experienced problem like that before. Is it hardware problem?

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Motherboard: Asus P5B-E
Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E6800
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4870
Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Titanium

Tried different drivers, played with settings - nothing helps.

Yes, something like that. I lose sound after playing the game for an hour or so. When I run other programs like multimedia players they run OK, not like I lost my output device, but sound isn't coming out and if I go into "manage audio devices" system just freezes.

I have the sound delay bug too :(

All my drivers are up to date, my computer is working flawlessly in 200 games but this one is really really buggy.

For me, this sound delay is obnoxious.

I tried with a Xonar, with an old soundblaster and with usb headphones (notice there is no driver with usb headphones) and it's the same thing : sound is delayed.

What the hell is happenning in this game ? Can't you fix it ?

I'm having audio delay aswell.
My sound card is Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer with latest (still old, released more than a year ago) drivers 2.18.0015.
I'm using the optical output, but I tried the game with analog audio, but it didn't help. My other games and apps are working all right.

so, will this audio delay be fixed soon?

This is pure disdain from Eidos, I'have never seen this anywere else (except Crytek, but that's not the same story because their game was perfectly stable, except it was ugly on PC and obviously made for consoles)

Not even a single feedback, or news or any word about the sound delay or any other sound issues.

This game is bugged to the finger tips...

I'm seriously disappointed, I think they lost another customer.

They do read these forums though. We got several responses from the lead programmer himself in the thread about certain control issues. Patch was live 2 days later, and fixed the problems discussed at the time.

I think they are aware of the problems, and are working on it. I've seen a weird trend lately that company representatives don't seem to be allowed to admit there is something wrong with the game, until the devs have a working fix for it.

Could be a publisher/legal thing, but not sure.

When I launch the game all sounds are muted, even when turned up, this is on the PS3 version. But the menu on the PS3 and everything else is fine, Human revolution just has no sound at all though... and I really want to play but I cant exactly do that with no sound.:mad2:

I have this same problem; PS3, everything else works fine but Deus ex itself has no sound whatsoever.
It really is hard to play a game without the sound so if I could get an answer or an acknowledgement of this issue being known then i'd be happy.

All I am getting is stereo sound! No center, no rear. I go to play another game and what do you know? Surround. Back to Deus Ex and no surround.

Looks like there maybe larger issues floating around in this forum for the Devs to fix but this is still ridiculous.:mad2:

Xbox 360 player here..

I am getting terrible audio popping/crackling at the Belltower Docks. I've always had the odd pop and crackle up to this point, primarily in the menus. Now I am getting a snap or pop every few seconds.

I am playing on a monitor with sound running directly to Logitech Z623 speakers. However, I also tried playing it on my wife's 360, hooked up to a 32 inch LCD TV, and the exact same sound problems persist. Furthermore, nothing else I play on those speakers exhibits any of these problems.

I have it installed to my 360's HD, but played directly from the disc on my wife's console; this did not make a difference.

Since I have tried it on two completely different consoles/sound systems, I can only assume I either have a bad disc or this is a common problem with the game. Anyone have any insight or experience this themselves?

I've been getting a new weird audio bug. I already have the slight audio delay, and most electronic sounds, buttons and menus crackle (and are sometimes louder than they're supposed to be).

Now, some audio seem to "squeak" every now and then. It's very bizarre. Noticed it first while going through the FEMA internment camp, and taking cover made a very high pitched "BIP" sound. The sound varies in pitch, as the taking cover sound is supposed to do, but was completely replaced by this "squeaking".

Restarting the game seemed to fix it, but some time later getting off ladders produced this sound instead.
I have found no patterns to this bug whatsoever.

I have experienced this exact same issue, but bizarrely on the Xbox 360 version, as I do not have the PC version.

I thought at first it was supposed to happen, except like you there seems to be no pattern to it when I experience it. Sometimes I take cover and its fine, sometimes it does the high pitched squeak sound. Same thing with climbing up and off of a ladder.

This in addition to my constant crackling/popping problem is really ruining any kind of immersion I could have had with Deus Ex, and is very annoying. The fact that it's present on both the Xbox 360 and PC versions is quickly dispelling the possibility of any hardware-related issues.

Thank you for making me feel even less good about this whole situation. I think it's safe to say that we're all a little on edge because of the issues at hand, and all I'm saying is that those kind of comments do not help.

I get that you re-read his comment and now understand, but you should've left it there. Telling a customer to "mind his own business" is really not at all professional. I can understand that from Joe Schmo user, but not someone who represents the company, even if indirectly.

I'm not trying to start anything (tempted as I was to reply with "u mad bro?"), but what could've been a simple misunderstanding you instead chose to take to another level. I appreciate the effort that Nixxes has put in on this. I really do. But the product, while technically playable is not entirely so. Audio delay in cutscenes has somehow gotten worse, not better, I'm afraid.

Here's hoping that's not a terribly complex problem to fix...

Interesting. I've found that, using the Sound Blaster Control Panel, I'm able to reduce the audio delay by switching from speakers to headphones. Audio delay is reduced significantly, though is still pretty intolerable. You can actually understand the cutscenes, but the stuttering audio delay becomes more continuously annoying than completely debilitating.

For reference, I've got the Sound Blaster X-Fi XTreme Gamer sound card.

I have the issue too, I created a ticket before posting here, here is the story :

I have a xonar, I have a USB Headphone and an old SB Audigy. Running Win 7.

As everyone here I have this stupid sound delay, of course, my computer works perfectly with any other game (including the BF3 Alpha and other Betas, including Diablo 3 Beta :P )

So, I created a ticket, sending them a dxdiag report and the maximum infos.

Here is the answer :

" drop down the hardware sound acceleration "

Let me tell you something Eidos/Nixxes/Square, who ever you are :

THERE IS NO SOUND HARDWARE ACCELERATION IN WINDOWS 7.

HARDWARE ACCELERATION NO LONGER EXISTS SINCE WINDOWS VISTA.

Every computer technicien knows this, how can a support answer such a stupid thing ?

Obviously the problem is not related to our hardware (completely different computers, many soundcards etc...)

Eidos is just bullsh1tting us, I can't ask for a refund sadly.

This is the first time I bough on of their game and I'll never buy one again. NEVER

I returned the game for a full refund. So now I no longer have this nagging feeling of having been screwed over :)

I guess the lesson is always to buy where you can return...

Anyway, two of my friends (both of whom played the original Deus Ex) said this game is not in the same league as DX1, and is basically a lot of stealth rubbish... boring endless hacking, wild goose chases... all just to buy time and hide the fact that there's really nothing there.

And I know my taste in games is the same as theirs... so good riddance DX3.

Due to consoles, PC games have deteriorated to the level where every bone that is thrown our way is treated and rated as if it's gold...while in truth it's just rotten scraps of meat on old brittle decalcified bone. Real shame it is indeed.

Industriality

There is still hope, you have Battlefield 3 that just kick ass and the PC is the leading plateform for developpement of it, you have Diablo 3 if you like Hack n Slash (I don't) and some other games (Valve's ones mainly)

But I agree, the console hold the PC back, in Deus Ex HR we have a poor Anti-Aliasing, lot of missing feature and tons of bugs (lot of audio bugs I noticed).

Dunno why they sold such a unpolished game... They definitely lost a customer.

Even the Battlefield Alpha (yes Alpha testing, not even Beta) testing ran fine on my rig !

But Deus ex as this stupid audio lag, some freezes and many other issues...

I know it's kind hard to develop, but when you face so much issues in one single game you really think you've been screwed.

Well...

I'll try to play the game anyway, trying not to focus on the sound delay, maybe with different weapons it will be less noticeable.

I had the same sound delay problem but managed to fix it.

I have the EPU-6 Energy Saving Engine on my PC. Basically it monitors my PC usage and alters power output to various components depending on needs.

I discovered on a whim that my sound problem was caused by this program limiting my CPU. Slowing down thread speed to save power, and thus causing a stutter and sync problem in audio during cutscenes.

I fixed my stutter by simply closing the program, or switching it to max power mode before loading up my game.

Hope this helps people. :)
