Dear PC gamers in US,

I would be really grateful if any of you could make some comparison screenshots for me. I want to see if the directx11 tesselation option really makes a difference. I have never ever seen it implemented well but according to Daeda models look better. He will post some screenshots when he finds the time, but any one of you lucky US gamers could do it too.

I have to wait untill friday because I am in the EU and I don't even have a directx11 card. Maybe I'll buy one soon if the directx11 functionality is worth it for DEHR :)

Thanks in advance :thumb:

Thanks for that. The changes look minor when it's only focusing on such a small area of the model, but hopefully over the full model they should add up to an appreciable difference. I'd still appreciate some other shots, if people have them, for further comparison.

Also pleased that the performance hit is very minor. Surprising!

What were those screenshots captured with? There's definitely loss in picture quaility, you can see a fuzziness to them everywhere, noticeable as well on the HUD, which should be crystal clear.
These screenshots from the Bit-tech review are more like it. Theyre not tesselation comparison shots, but they'e wonderfully crisp and show what the game can look like with the settings no no doubt cranked right up.

(Non spoliery images)

Thanks. This is definitely a better use of tesselation than in metro 2033 for example. Might eb the first game where it's actually worth it to turn on the option

More of these would be awesome!

http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/22/deus-ex-human-revolution-review/2/ They most certainly have tessellation enabled in these screens. If I compare it to what I've palyed in the leek, Adam definitely looks less 'blocky and pointy'

This is with everything maxed out. Original screenshots were jpgs compressed 10%.

Edit: photobucket resized it. : /

Haha, I'd be lying if I said I could see any difference. Thanks nonetheless!

Yeah it's photobucket's fault. I don't have a better host for such a large file. :(

You can tell. Not much, but it's different, and doesn't use much resources at all.

Thanks, I don't see a difference in those screenshots at all :p

This game has tessellation? Where? Not in my game! Everything looks flat! And yes, that setting is enabled in my Graphics card program (ATI) and in the game.

Did they really include tessellation in the final game, or only DoF? Seems like the DirectX11 option is missing tessellation period.

The tessellation is not pronounced at all. You're not missing much with the screenshot compression.

It's just not that great, hate to burst any bubbles.

The game looks great without the candy, mind you. It's the art direction and "World looks lived-in" detail that's amazing.
