First really looks like Lara is in some ghost town. It kinda reminds me of Rio de Janeiro becaue of that statue.
Anyway, pictures look excelent. Now I'm wondering is it some kind of ritual shown on 5th pic.

Weird place to find a giant Buddha statue. It doesn't really look like the place were one could find enlightenment.

There's a dead reindeer in the second pic. Did the island kill Father Christmas?

It does kinda look like it's nose used to light up.

Jesus, those are great! The game really feels like TR Chronicles (Ireland levels) which were awesome. Can't wait for the game!!

Actually it makes perfect sense. If there's a ghost town on the island, there must have lived people there once. Buddhism is a common religion in Japan, so it is possible that the people living inside the village built the statue to bless the village. It even looks like a buddha on a Japanese altar:

So it's not that weird to find a buddha statue up there. I personally thinks it's an awesome feature :)
