Screens look good. The police uniform in the first pic could be a Chicago police officers uniform.

Can u imagine if its Assassin's Creed style? :D

Hopefully they keep that **** far away from the Hitman series.

woooooooooooooooh, that is amazing, i am touched, it feels like it is going to be a hit, especially the 2nd image, very stealthy, and the 1st pic very action-y, just wow

Noooooo. I tried playing the first AC game, but I didn't like it.

That is why should try the 3rd game or wait for the 4th. :D

never judge by the first, when it comes to gameplay.

significantly improved from the 1st.

I dig the colours and atmosphere, but though I really like the Assassin's Creed series I hope there's not too much of its climbing and jumping aspects in Abosulution.

Oh, I think I see an FNC (http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/FN_FNC) on the first screen!

How did you confirm it? 47 is using the same shuffling animation for a small ledge as was in previous games.

Frankly, cover system can only improve Hitman. It's not like we will have to switch perspectives when getting in and out of cover. Or like we will have health regen that forces us to take cover for a second and heal full hp. Ok atleast I hope so!

SC:Conviction had the best cover system I've ever seen. Other than that I hope they don't go Conviction route!

So far, screenshots and atmosphere look good. And I'm glad the first screenshots are in the dark and subtle instead of guns blazing room screenshot.

Brackstone17
4th Jun 2011, 16:42
Yeah, those screens look good, but what advantage does 47 have being on that ledge, unless he can peek around it and shoot? There's nothing around to jump to except the balcony he came from.

There is another balcony to your right, i believe he can jump there but when the guards turn around or else they will notice him

On 2nd thought it is kinda far away, so i am just like you, i don't know :D, maybe he can climb down ?!

are u all sure that's game graphics?
looks like drawing to me.
especially the colouring, concept art?

or comic. :o

in anycase, if that is cover system, yay. :D

Two of the admins at hitmanforum.com got to see a few minutes of the game already and said that it does look like that ingame.

Odd camera angles. I wish we could just see some with the full hud.

auric
5th Jun 2011, 07:49
Is that he's hideout? i hear someone mentioned he's being chased but from where?

if its his hideout, I wonder if its layed out with traps or not :)
if he wants to come out clean, most likely not.

Isn't the HUD usually one of the last things to get finalized and/or presented to the public?

I played the demo of Conviction and I didn't like the cover system because he could just get a head shot with out peeking out. I liked rainbow six cover system or Gears of War if theres an aim button this time around.

What do u mean without peeking out?

after we select where to shoot, he came out just enough for both his hands & eyes to see the target & shoot.

I don't recall him just raising his hand & shoot.
like Ezio in AC:Brotherhood how he shot someone behind him with a crossbow because when I was aiming at him, he ran behind me & Ezio just follow him with his hand & shoot, while he face the other way. :D

Thats what Im talking about you select where to without having to aim or peek out first you shouldn't be able to do that. In Conviction Fisher just pops his head up for less then a second, so your payer should have to put his head and arm out in order to aim his guns before getting a head shot unless its just blind luck with a blind fier system.

What I meant by best cover system, I mean the implementation. Not the easy mode it gives.
Simply pressing right mouse button puts you into cover very fluidly and you can nicely move around the cover. I also liked all the slides into cover from far away. Cover system was quite precise (in getting you where you want it to) and extremely fluidly animated.
Well, that's just my opinion.

It's a Third Person view, players cun need to pop their head out
but there is a pop out to aim too.

That is for a more precise shot or u might miss click. When he don't pop out, the targets are all small, u can miss their head. when u zoom in for a clearer shot, he look out too, guns out lasers pointing for the player to aim better.
I believe that's the middle mouse button,

Also over the balcony aiming someone right below the wall, he goes all the way out for u to see them down there to aim.

Like in X-Com
So basically, when he don't pop out its like a "snap shot" depends how good the player is with small targets.

When he pops out, its an "Aim Shot" zoom closer for more precise shots.

A helicopter shooting at 47. I hope this doesn't mean that the game is full of forced failures in stealth.

Apparently 47 is now kung fu fighting. That cat is fast as lightning. From the look of things he has a new choke hold and more cutscenes to take people out with melee weapons.

Twice they show his trademark pistols and twice they forget to pull the hammer back.

The screens look very atmospheric. Nice and dark.

Hammer?
Isn't that pulled automatically when u press the trigger?

I thought manual pulling is for old fashion guns. Otherwise everyone will be holding it with 2 hands.

or is it a start up & the rest is auto?

That guy in shades looks like a pun for Sam Fisher :D

So is the cover system confirmed?
That don't look like a piece of board his standing on, looks like a whole foor. :)

Nice, different way of take down.
Hand choking, items (baton) at least i think he's trying to KO him, otherwise it looks like he's interrogating, lol

The guns that 47 uses are AMT Hardballers. These pistols are single action only. Before you shoot the hammer has to be thumbed back. Normally this is done when you pull the slide back to chamber your first round. After each shot the slide moves backwards and thumbs the hammer back for you. So you only need to do it manually when you are starting up and it is automatic for each shot thereafter.

There are also double action pistols (and a few other types). These pistols use the action of pulling the trigger to thumb the hammer back. The downside to this is that you have a much heavier trigger pull.

So is the cover system confirmed?

Yes. There is a German preview that mentions the cover system.

Basically you shouldn't be able to see the cross hairs while duck down or behind cover without aiming out. Sure its third person so you can already see over cover but cross hairs don't come up until you aim.

What's the point of keep deleting my posts here? Is there a problem in posting a trailer that respected and famous companies already posted elsewhere? People can watch the trailer on YouTube if they want, I don't see any problem. Why waiting untill tomorrow I don't understand, if it's already available?

fapping gorgeous!

Once I see that classic camera angle from behind 47 as proper gameplay camera I will be so happy, still actionshots are awesome. so far the only thing missing is 47 drowning a target in the kitchen sink, a screen of that would be epic, and poetic of 47.

auric

I'm starting to see an odd new trand here.
This "Instinct Mode" is on Tomb Raider also, now that I see it on the trailer it looks like the one in Deus Ex too. :o

I guess Its going to be a common thing on all Eidos shooters.

Are there people complaining that they don't know what to do in games, that leads them to make this?

Apparently the new gaming demographic consists of people who can't play a game without an onscreen walkthrough.

I find it odd, that for him to kill to gain an instinct of what items to be used, where the enemy is, is ok but not the walkthrough thing. :D

But for instinct, I wouldn't mind it to be a constant thing, whenever we within footstep range a blue dot or something appears where the sound originates.

a dot, not the figure of the person doing what. if they're opening the door, the knob highlights too, basically any noise made by people.

Sadly this is so true. Look at the responses of TheWitcher 2 for example. The Witcher 2 DOES have on screen walktroughs, but it STILL wasn't enough for people.

The biggest onscreen walkthrough would be Splinter Cell:Conviction, lol

talk about walkthrough before your eyes. Huge words everywhere & a cursor or something telling u where to look.

It is the phidemy? (seriously dunno how to spell that word) of onscreen walkthroughs.

Hi, want to share a thought about this "shooting issue"
:)

I believe its all to do with adrenaline, reflexes, etc. that he was able to aim quicker than the others.

In tense moments, people's senses are hightened, reactions quicken & all. As I've seen in discovery before, speeding their thought processes to make decisions quicker, to survive a bad situation.

Considering Sam Fisher's background, he's being trained & conditioned to fight, he's reflexes & all are higher than most, in rare cases he's 1 of the top best. Trained to use that hightened senses for such a purpose.

being in combat is one such way to increase adrenaline.

So, normal click to him is with combat adrenaline, plus he's conviction for revenge. Aka. Pure Sam by his old friend.

Mark & Execute is done by boosting the rush further via killing someone in HtH combat.

When he gets really ticked off in 1 mission when hearing the truth about lambert & his daughter, he can do M&E all the way, till he calm down in the next mission.

:)

just a thought.

a way better way to use this than Hitman's Instinct thing.
kill someone to see things better. :hmm:

When I look at this picture I think of that skip muldoon guy from Blood Money and thats one of the bigest things that I didn't like about BM. The reason why I was into this game in the first place was because it was dark and serious and when I hear they talking about theres going to be alot of funny characters. I never like that silly stuff.

I do get it, sam fishers a bad ass but its just cheap when you can put your target on your enemies head with out popin out and being exposed. I mean you can already see over cover in a third person game you don't need go farther than that.

The whole point of SC:Conviction new gameplay, at least to me is to show his skill in action "Pure Sam"

not pitiful player. we tell him where to shoot & watch him perform. That also means shooting at nothing if the player points at nothing. :D

With the enemies moving about & poor player accuracy, i'm sure there are people out there, keep clicking like mad hitting nothing, until they get a rifle or something for more burst action & hope it hit something. :)
