absolution
noun

1.the act of absolving or the state of being absolved; release from guilt, obligation, or punishment

2.(Christianity / Roman Catholic Church)
a.* a formal remission of sin pronounced by a priest in the sacrament of penance
b.* the prescribed form of words granting such a remission

[from Latin absol?ti?n-acquittal, forgiveness of sins, from absolvereto absolve

Considering how much the subject of christianity is present throughout the serie , This makes perfect sense to me , couldn't have found a better title ...

So it is pretty much confirmed that a new Hitman isn't just a myth , i'm expecting at least a forty seven second teaser at E3 ...

By the way anyone know just how far that viral game went on ? last i check in the Hitman forums it was wild ... Too wild ...

I saw the same update! The title makes sense, But the developer may be Rocksteady games and not IO Interactive. I can't be sure because you never know what Square-Enix has planned. I would suspect they would select the best proposal for the game that will generate the best gameplay for the series. But I hope they will not compromise story as well. Anyway this is all speculation, heh.

What viral game? Can you post a link or something. I am quite curious to find out :D .

Can't wait to see what kind of story they'll cook up.

Did i just saw this right ?...

Did they just stick this thread ?...

In my experience Sticky threads have always been reserved for what it is deemed as 'correct' news and informations...

So, yeah, the Absolution subtitle is pretty much the definite one...
Like i said, i like it alot...

Of course, having trademarked a title doesn't mean that the game is even ready to come out this year... ... so don't go bunny easter jump yet...

Take Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days for example, trademarked in July 2009, officially announced November 2009, released August 2010...

Then again, the thread i made about the Dog Days trademark was never sticky, yet this one is

Can't wait to see what kind of story they'll cook up.

After Blood Money, 47 found his true destiny as becoming a Chef... in Shanghai...

Then Lynch and Kane killed all his customers...

Now 47 must achieve absolution before the rest of the world gets their hands on the ugly duo !...

I smell game of the year !...

Believe it or not , rumours of Rocksteady working on the animation department of Hitman actually happened a couple years ago ...

Then Eidos says NOOO , and that Hitman will Always and Only belong to IO ...

It's all good i say ...

Well it seems to be over now , but still ... it was just ... Wild ...

Also , while you're at it , you lot might as well go do your banana dance of excitement in what seems to be the Real Hitman forums , which is definitely not a ghost town compared to this place ...

And here for strictly everything Hitman: Absolution ...

Some artworks that may or may not have anything to do with Hitman Absolution ...

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/299349/news/are-these-the-first-hitman-5-images/

Something interesting about that level design map ...
It seems to feature a donut shop , a garage as well as a scrap yard ...

This , for anyone who isn't familiar with the Kane & Lynch franchise , bears quite a similarity with Dead Men's very first chapter ...

So unless this level design map (as well perhaps as all the other artworks) are simply being mistaken as being related to Hitman Absolution , Or , IO Interactive just want to make homages to their own games ...

In which case , bravo gents ...

...

It's either that or they're being lazy and recycling their own old levels ...
Your call ...

How awesome would it be if 47 was contracted to kill Kane and Lynch in one of the missions? He doesn't need to succeed or anything, they could just change the objective mid level, but a crossover would be BADASS

Edit: But personally, I think it would be even better if he succeeded :D
