Dual pistols were her trademarks before in the past games.
What item/clothing etc, will be her next trademark to be seen as the new Lara Croft.

I would like it to be a sort of gun or necklace, bracelet, or anything on her body.:rasp:
Although, i miss kicking bad guys butt with her lovely Dual Pistols.:hmm:

I think this (http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/screenshots/Tomb_5F00_Raider/Tomb_5F00_Raider_5F00_Media/Axe_Render.jpg) is going to be her new trademark. How is it called in English?
I'll miss her dual pistols. I hope they'll come back one day. :(

I'm thinking that at the start she has one gun and then she picks up another...So dual pistols again.

...Then again she has a bow. I have my eye on you bow! ... I'm thinking that because we can only see the handle of the bow it might not be that. It might be a strap of a guitar...She might suddenly whip out the guitar and start playing something to scare away the enemies. Woah I need more sleep! Also I need to make the guitar game!

And I'm also thinking her necklace may be part of something

The answer is nothing. This new Lara without any of her iconic features (large breasts, classic outfit, duel pistols etc) will not be one that becomes iconic.

If you ask me what will be remembered about this Lara then the wounds, silly bow and arrow and lack of classic features. Lara looks awful but the theme of the game is so much what TR needs. I think the island and mature themes are what will be rembered.

If the image above is any indication, perhaps her toughness, looks like she can take a lickin and keep on tickin. Shes a tough chick!

We maybe just have to wait for the game to be released.
Sad to say you don't like Lara's new look... She looks fantastic and creating a new look and a reboot is what TR needs to Survive its franchise.

She's weak at first tough. :)

I would imagine Lara would have an iconic new way of fighting that we haven't seen before in video games.

But I think she'll also keep her dual pistols.

Well since this is an origin game Lara is not Lara yet. What I am more interested in is what will Lara grow up into after this game? What is the revisioned idea of Lara Croft? If this game is as successful as expected does it mean that TR is all about survival and gore from now on?

I think I can co-relate over here... like example. James Bond was a book character of Ian Fleming in the 1930's, and that franchise has survived nearly 50 years because of its changes to the character. Plus, when Daniel Craig was cast as Bond for the 2006 Casino Royale, they wanted Bond to be an inexperienced character who grew into the Bond that people love.
Now with Lara, I love everything about her. Her look is great, although if u try to look at her battle damaged face it reminds me of Natalie Portman (for what reason I don't know...). The way CD & Eidos are handling this game they are gonna make sure that TR is nothing short of brilliant (and because of the much anticipated Batman: Arkham City).
I'm dissapointed about a late release date, no Keeley Hawes voicing or Croft Manor, but if people were true fans of the franchise, they'd accept it.
Nobody likes change, but in Lara's case, this reboot might the best thing that ever happened to her.

WHAT IS GOING TO MAKE THIS GAME ICONIC:
Her overall change. In terms of the storyline, the fact she's inexperienced and she must survive on her own unlike the last 2 or 3 games where she's had her own gadgetry, Zip & Alister. Plus none of the old enemies like Natla, Venrur Von Croy, Rutland or Amanda return. Which is all good.

I agree totally with you that TR needed a reboot. I think the TRU's bad writing, lack of boss fights and over-linearity had forced CD's hand. A reboot HAD to happen. Whilst CD have got quite a few things wrong that needed to be changed, they got Lara's look near perfect everytime. To deduct what makes Lara unique is not something I consider positive.

The 'best thing that ever happened to her' was her placement in TR1 which first launched LC as one of gamings greatest protagonists.

I am not keen on the phrase 'true fan' as everone on here is a 'true fan'. For me for instance being a true classic TR fan I don't want to see changes that deminish what is iconic about Lara. Dosn't mean you are not a true fan if you love the new look though.

I wouldn't say TRU was a bad experience, but it was far too short. Legend in my opinion was the longest of the 3 games (TRL, TRA & TRU).
About what I mentioned in the last post, the survival-adventure genre looks good. For me, I take it as a combination of classic Lara and Resident Evil 5. (This is just my opinion, because they've removed the auto-target system). Like or dislike, I respect everyone's opinion's here.
One of the longest games I've ever played and really enjoyed is PoP Warrior Within. If Eidos and CD can write a long, but good storyline for this game, it will be worth all the cash I spend.

I'm going to go ahead and say realism.

She will be iconic because of the world she is grounded in, there will be no more contradictions and she will be famous for her discoveries.

I'd also say gear, it seems to me that instead of "forgetting" her climbing gear she will come prepared.

her outfit its sorta like the classic outfit but the straps are skinnier the color is a different shade and her pants if you rip them could become shorts other than that idk but it could be her ...

I could imagine it being her red axe/tomahawk.
It reminds me of Gordon Freeman's crowbar (From Half Life and Half Life 2)
