View Full Version : Three Deus Ex wishes for Christmas

Post three wishes you have for DX:HR. However, to stay in the holiday spirit, and get away from the rut of the same old discussions (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=115406) going in circles, there are some exceptions:

----------
NOT ALLOWED
- Third person/cover system/takedowns
- SDK/Level editor/mod tools
- Pre-order offers/exclusives/bonuses
- Yellow/gold
- Lean
- Item/goal highlighting
- Steamworks or other DRM
----------

The above are already discussed to death in a million other threads, so let's see how creative this forum can get.

What DO you want in DX:HR? I'll get started.

1. Some ability to choose the mission order (ala Mass Effect 2)
2. Quicksave/save anywhere
3. Skippable cut scenes

Have fun with the poll options :D

Not touching that one.

I'd be happy with a few simple things.
1) Ability to backtrack to earlier locations at (almost) any point in the game.
2) Save-anywhere.
3) More environment interactions. Ability to use objects to create tactical advantage, to hide knocked out guards and such.

SKIPPABLE CUTSCENES.

God yes. One of the worst AGLDs out there, up there with checkpoint saves.

Heh. Hence the option to show how people voted is enabled. :p

lithos - is that all? Still have two more wishes...

1. A demo (I just want to play the game already!)
2. Mr. Swallow's: The Icarus Effect
3. Augmented legs

Practicing for your genie exam?

2. Quicksave/save anywhere

Yes, please :D Beside that:
1) A Deus Ex lighter
3) Plot that actually makes sense

Practicing for your genie exam?

HA!

OK, two more:

* Lose the BS soft sci-fi crap.
* Lose the cosplay-bait fashion design. Yes, we're sorry the Japanese games industry is declining. No, HR isn't going to change that, no matter how much weird clothing you shoehorn in there.

Hehe. Good, pleased to hear this.
It takes an exceptional man with a big heart to touch me. You haven't got a chance. :p

Oh dear. Well, that's me out of the running as well then. I'm an exceptional man but, as has already been established, I have a small, black heart.

Nothing wrong with a little darkness... ;)

Hey, I'm not getting enough votes here!
Perhaps I ought to post a piccy of my eyes to tempt people to vote for me. Would this be fair? :D

Consider it done... BUT on one condition.
The gift is to remain completely confidential... no sharing it with others. Do I have your word? I assume you are a man of integrity?

1. A desktop computer * la Deus Ex on my bureau. (With the wide, blue screen  )
2. J.C.'s sunglasses...
3. My personal black helicopter + pilot. Ill never be too late on any appointment ever again! Weee!

You sent him a link to the sarif eye pic didn't you..

Anyway I don't see the point of any of that, although I do see the opportunity for a poll:

What will we see complete first?

[0]Deus Ex 3

[0]MyImmortal

1. An installer where I can choose which language I install. I want to play in english, not german Dangit!
2. Streamed loading of environments.
3. A persistant, customisable base of operations similar to the apartments in VtMB.

Hey MyImmortal! I'm not touching you! Not touching! It can't be annoying 'cos I'm not touching you! :D

Herm. OK, let's see:

(1) a memorable, atmospheric, dark, and all-around amazing soundtrack;

(2) fire-extinguishers. To blind people with. When you have nothing else. They've made an appearance in both DX games so far.

(3) level design which delivers throughout the entire game. Shanghai looks amazing from what we've seen, as do parts of Detroit. I hope the rest of the game has been given equal polish.

1. Surprising quests. No delivery/fetch style puh-leaze!

2. Balanced stealth so it's not too easy.

3. Release date before xmas :D

1. I'd like to send a garden gnome into space... with my passionate, sticky love.
2. An exponential increase in physics objects; a provocative garden gnome would be nice.
3. The inclusion of dogs, cats, gnomes, birds, flies and little children. All of which should be killable and space worthy.

Putting aside your gnome fetish, that's a new and disturbing twist on "love 'em and leave 'em".

To be fair, gnomes are pretty awesome.

I have volatile mood swings, and I'd like a game that can keep up.

Sometimes I wanna shoot a child, sometimes I like to dry-hump garden decorations, and sometimes I want to fire whatever's left of my romantic endeavors into deep, deep space.

...and then I sink my teeth into the hide of a mangy alley cat and suck out its spinal fluid.

Tons of ingame literature, easter egges, unique dialogs, hidden weapons, unique weapons, (About the only good thing done in IW.) and for those of you who have played alpha protocol discovering intel on enemies would unlock certian dialogue options.

^I like these.
The perk system from AP was good too. Tons of mini perks (like 5% or +1 to a weapon stat) for each of your decisions. Enough to be fun, but not too big that it makes you want to save scrum.

Example
Who's the Better Agent? II - Your will to live is strengthened by the knowledge that dying would make Darcy happy. That can't happen - not at any cost. Endurance +10

Definetly an awsome system! And a criminally underrated game.

I want them to keep Kyle's promise and for it to be about 40 hours long.

I think you should rephrase that, keep in mind the average time of a take-down and multiply it by at least 200. This will still be counted towards game-time.
