It's ruining the game on Steam!

One would think that forcing PAYING CUSTOMERS to listen to racist illiterate Cretins, open/broken microphones damaging ear drums, and the only alternative being to play the game with all sound disabled would be enough to motivate Eidos FIX THIS PROBLEM.

But there's more! A little diagnostic homework shows that all the open howling microphone feed-back (because Steams volume doesn't work for VOIP in this game) is not only consuming a ridiculous amount of bandwidth, it's making the multi-player game unstable, and lagging the game horribly.

PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM EIDOS: OFFER AN OPTION TO DISABLE VOIP ON STEAM!

I agree.. no mute?
This is what happens when Io do the beta inhouse... maybe they should try and play online with all the whining morons, or the ones that play music in the background.

If it were just music and whining morons -- it would be merely annoying but tolerable. But that the verbal commotion goes several orders of magnitude below the bar of whining, and this half-assed VOIP implementation is so bug-ridden no self-respecting Programmer or his Boss should have allowed the features to be implemented in the PC iteration of the game, and should have replaced it with text chat.

Deplorable!

I totally agree...

Just add ONE button to Toggle the Microphone, and it will be cool...

A text chat would be even better as well, after all this is COMPUTER game with keyboard.

Unfortunately that won't fix the problem; as the problem is malicious people that abuse VOIP deliberately making their microphones feed-back, wasting bandwidth and even crashing the game if there's enough in a game doing it.

There needs to be an option to disable VOIP; as is offered in the vast majority of games to avoid these issues and so miscreants can't trash the game. One would think Eidos would want the saving grace of this game to put its best foot forward, but VOIP induced lag, and bad games all around as a consence of VOIP abuse and very few playing the result -- one would think someone would get a clue...

Nope.

As ridiculous as forcing people to take telemarketing calls isn't it?

:hmm:

why not buy a game system thats geared for playing games? Instead of playing them on a computer? So you've got a computer built for gaming, its still not as rock solid as a GAME SYSTEM. Ive even got a mute option.
