Square Enix will be releasing DX:HR in Japan (their dropping the HR bit and just sticking with Deus Ex as the titile) under their new gaming label 'Extreme Edges' which is apparently a label for western games being released in Japan by Square Enix. Don't ask me why they created it. Anyway Siliconera is reporting that SE have released new screenshots:

Most I have seen before but two or three I hadn't. Anyway, just thought I'd post this since there's not much else going on around here. :)

I feel sorry for the Japanese gamers who are never going to know the awesome of the original Deus Ex because of the new title.

The concept art depicting the weapons are very nice and detailed. What a great job they are doing the developers of the Canadian software company.

To bad they won't play it seeing as the Japanese have an allergy to anything not Japanese.

There was a report recently saying that jap gamers are really getting sick of the generic JRPGs lately. This will be a good break for em.

I don't know about DX, but last I heard Japan actually has an active Thief scene.

This (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/images/10/aug/dx/art12.jpg) reminded me of the Nakagin Capsule Tower. (http://www.parusinc.ru/nakagin_capsule_tower/nakagin_capsule_tower%201.jpg)

Man who honestly cares about screenshots.. If I recall the shots released prior to Deus Ex 1 being released had basically nothing to do with the game at all. I.E the developers gave you no inkling of how amazing the game was from any screenshot released. Moral of the story, at the end of the day screenshots are very much superficial marketing bull****.

No, that was a Japanese advert for Fallout: New Vegas (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/08/03/japanese-gamers-vs/).

Where do you get that from? Japanese people soak up anything, as long as it can be commercialized.

What a stupid name for a company.. Need something cutting edge.. "inter slice.. Cut co..."

*facepalm*

Why not just stick with the Square Enix label? You'd think so given its one of the most trusted gaming labels in Japan at the moment.. Now the Japanese are going to go "Woah this is sus" because its a new label. Way to **** up your gaming cred there guys.

On top of this.. Really? We're calling it just Deus Ex now?.. What a insult.. way to utterly confuse the **** out of the japanese.

Forgive my obtuseness but... which of those screens are actually new? There are none that I cannot remember having seen before, or from the trailer.

OP thought they were new.

Some of the new ones are around the bottom of this article.

I suspected as much. You don't just have allergies to Japanese culture, you might go into anaphylactic shock! Heh. I don't like a lot of the stuff I see, either, but the Japanese are also known for adopting western concepts to scary levels, not shunning it as much as you imply.

You completely hate the cultural output of a nation of over 100 million people with a history stretching back to about 2500 years? You must be a fine cultured intellectual elite.
