Hey guys as soon as I saw the trailer the music stunned me first. Thats not to say how amazingly epic the trailer was. I've sampled the music and turned it into a beat that'll bob your head. At least I hope so.

Hope you guys like!

That's really good. Though, honestly, it's hard to improve on that song. It's just so bloody epic it gives me goosebumps.

However, listening to your remix reminded me of something I thought the first time I heard the song: Doesn't it have some fairly striking similarities to the opening credits of Babylon 5? In particular, the opening for the third season, with a bit of season four thrown in.
Listen, and give me your thoughts: Babylon 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVwp41MXpAw) (starting at about 50 seconds in) and Icarus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzWTG2HFiVs) (starting at about 40 seconds in).

Or am I crazy?

Fluffis you aren't crazy lol I do agree it does sound similar and thats pretty much the nature of music. People also compared it to the song "Two Steps From Hell" from the latest Star Trek movie. And they also sound pretty much alike. But if you asked me Deus Ex version all the way hahaha

Damn... that "Two Steps from Hell" was even closer. :D

I know what you mean. I would actually prefer Icarus as the intro to B5, even though I love Christopher Franke's music.

I'm not hearing it.

However in relation to music sounding the same:http://unoriginalmusic.ytmnd.com/

The parts that are similar are sort of spread out a bit in Icarus. It's not that it is exactly the same, but there are a couple of phrasings and the overall "feel".

Yeah, that's just horrible... Luckily I stay well away from that kind of music most of the time.

Try this one on for size: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvB9Pj9Znsw

Didn't want to make an entire thread for this. Piano version of the trailer song, pretty damn amazing.

For the old Deus Ex fans I made a Unatco remix. It was hard and I hope it was worth listening.

Great work, Suyen! http://media.ign.com/boardfaces/35.gif I love how you wove the epicness subtly into that humble theme. Quality fan renditions of beloved themes are awesome. :thumb:

What equipment/software did you use to make it? I'd love to get my mitts on a synth like that...

Come on, forumites, give that track a listen!

I'm glad that you enjoyed it Ilves.

I used a vst called EastWest/Quantum Leap Orchestra Symphony. I only have the Gold Edition which is an okay standard edition because it only has one mic position (depending on the position it can affect how you hear the instruments). But the Platinum edition has the best of everything and has all mics position which can make things sound way better! It cost near a grand to get the best edition which im going to get in time!!

Here is the link to the vst
