My mom found it at random on Amazon because it had fantastic reviews. And it kicked total ass.

http://www.eloisejknapp.com/AboutBook.aspx

Basically, it's about this complete sociopath named Cyrus V. Sinclair who holed up in his apartment during the zombie apocalypse with a ton of automatic weapons. It works the most, I think, because of Sinclair himself- he's nuts. If someone's being a *****, he doesn't bother trying to reason with them- he beats the **** out of them. He's not some annoyingly inept survivor, he's completely prepared, calm, and experienced. All the characters (except maybe Gabe, she was super annoying) were awesome, especially Sinclair and Blaze (although I'm biased towards Blaze since she acts like a character I made once, who also happens to be my favorite- they even have the same hair, for God's sake >__>)

Here's the characters:

Check out the book (it's free, guys) here: http://www.eloisejknapp.com/getbook.aspx

You can get it in HTML or PDF format, which is super useful. It's not very long- the PDF file is only 77 pages.

READ IT.

EDIT: It has nothing in common with I Am Legend besides the apocalypse thing.

The author's working on a sequel, can't wait to read it.

EDIT: The ending of the movie pissed me off. Completely screwed up the point of the book.

EDIT2: I like the FAQ. Turns out the author hates Gabe as much as I did.

I Am Legend is a big load of bull****.

If you want to know how the apocalypse is really going to go down, read and/or watch "The Road" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0898367/

and when you're done with that, play Left 4 Dead. It's not just a game, it's a training application for surviving the apocalypse.

Or you could read The Undead Situation, like I freaking told you to.

Saw I am Legend , twice , loved it (agreed that the alternative ending , the one from the book , the one that test audience didn't liked it , was better) , The Road ? saw it too , lovely , Left 4 Dead ? Man i do this everyday in real life , just go outside and every dumb bastard comes rushing at me , madness ...

Anywya , what's next ? ... Where ... Is ... My ... Apocalypse ? ...

Or you could read The Undead Situation, like I freaking told you to.

Well i just took a page at random , not too bad , but they all practically read the same , which leaves me a disapointed considering how the author looks like ...

Not to judge a book by its cover , i'm going to judge it from the author's face then ...

Anywya i'll read it , i've got nothing more important to do for the next month or so ...

By the way ...
What the **** is Nick Nolte doing here ? ...

You'd better be...

EDIT: All the pages are written the same? Dude, it's a book. Written by one author. Not, like, 5 authors.

No , it's worse , I'm saying that most books that came out during this decade all read as if it's from the same author , with the same style , same tone , same ... Tone ...

I, like Grievous, read a page at random. I wasn't very impressed. I think I know what Grievous means, though. It all seemed very plain.

It also brings up a problem I have with some books written in the first person. It's that even when things are supposed to be from the characters perspective, they don't do much with the perspective. If you went through and replaced all the "I"s with "he"s or "she"s, it would be wouldn't be from the first person anymore.

Everything? Man I'd need a dictionary and maybe even a Becktionary if things get tough.

Well, you can't judge a book based off of one page. What, are you looking for complicated literary devices to provide an intellectual experience? It's a zombie book written by an 18 year-old. It's a very good book, but you're not going to get the most refined literary prose ever. Come on.

Read two or three chapters, then I'll be able to take your arguments seriously.

It's Not just this cute lil lady's writing , it's the fact that hundreds of other writers all , more or less , write as good as her , which is bad , because as you say it , this is a eighteen year old girl who is writing about a zombie book ... meaning , that the hundreds of other writers can't write better than a eighteen year old girl who writes about a zombie apocalypse ...

Scary ... yeah , you're right , the apocalypse has already happened ...

I find that you can judge a book based off one page. You may not know how well the author advances the plot, develops characters or establishes the setting, but you will almost always be able to tell if you like the authors style or not. I just don't like her style.

I'm sorry if I sounded to harsh, but I just don't think the book is my kind of thing. I'm not looking for refined literary prose, just something that I find interesting. I don't find this too interesting. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying it seems very ordinary. If you like it, well then that's great, but I stand by my opinion.

Ok,
first of all, if you want to read that, you may want to use readability (http://lab.arc90.com/experiments/readability/), the website layout is terribile to read from.

I've read a bit, maybe i'll read some more, but i'm not that intrested; yep, the protagonist is a know-it-all, always prepared, never impressed and...boring. Zombie apocalypse as a start isn't the freshest of things, if then this already known situation is told by somebody who is unimpressed by anything, it gets old, fast.
