I just bought this game! I go to load a new game and it hits the loading screen and freezes and crashes. So i restart the game again and it loads! But the loading screen stays up and i can here the cutscene sound in the background. What is going on with this? My drivers are upto date. Specs Below:

Athlon 64 X2-6000+, 3GB DDR800, 120GB HD, BFG Nvidia GTX260 OC Maxcore, Realtek HD Audio.

Its sounds like you are have a graphics card driver stop resonded problem , you can still here the sound in the back ground because the sound card drivers haven't crashed they are still carrying on dong there job, but the graphics drivers have stop that's why you got no pitcher..

Try to up date your nvidia drivers with the newest ones : http://www.nvidia.co.uk/page/home.html

Also run the direct x program to see if there are any updates for dx10 : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3

It's not a graphic card problem, the problem is for the game, and i presume it mainly or fully occurs for STEAM customers of the game:

I have the same problem, i can't play just cause.
I paid 50€ and i can't play just cause yet...

Hoping they will release a fix for that the fastest way possible

There already are some possible ways to fix the problem:

-reinstall game (didn't work for me but did for someone on steam's forum

-download Driver Sweeper (http://downloads.guru3d.com/Guru3D---Driver-Sweeper-%28Setup%29_d1655.html), reboot, install lastest stable drivers for your Graphic card, reboot and play.

-disable V-sync AND triple buffering by the control panel of your graphic card (no way to disable triple buffering ingame) (didn't work for me but did for some peolple)

I've not tried yet the 2nd alternative, i will later...

I go play GTA IV... At least, this one works fine ...

lol all that you have just suggested is to do with the graphics card/drivers , so i would say its the driver for the graphics card .

fixed it! all it was, was a graphics driver issue. i didnt realize new drivers came out yesterday for nvidia. so i updated to the 197.13 drivers and the game works perfectly!

Nvidia is usually good about that. i wish ATI would step up... Catalyst still sucks...
