Just a wee discussion topic inspired in-part by some awesome games I've played.

Ok first up,what game do you consider to have the best sound design and why?

What scene/act/period of a game or level had you go ooyah!

Name your fav game/franchise and tell us what sound could be added to make it better and more atmospheric.

My answers:

1. Black (ps2) Some of the best gunplay sounds I've heard very slick sound design imho.

2. The opening battle in Medal of honour frontlines.. I remember hooking my ps2up to a surround sound and being blown away by the depth of that particular battle.

3. GTA.. Thinking animal ambience would add alot to the game as your strolling on foot, however this would mean implementing animals ect so i may just drop this dream seeing as red dead redemption will cover my wishes anyway.

There's more to discuss here but we'll get to that soon.

Bad Company 2. It's sound is immense! Very very well done, probably the best to date.

Bad Company 2. It's sound is immense! Very very well done, probably the best to date. I's good no doubt about it,but it's not that good...certainly not the best. It's full of bugs and glitches (sound glitches) Alot of the time (particularly online) the sound just disappears.

It's good hen it works but it's far from perfect imo.
