Currently, JC2 "estimated" release on steam is 1 day, 0 hours.
For me, that is Tuesday the 23rd at 2:00PM.
Will there be no earlier release? I was planning on playing all morning long.

Thats strange indeed.. =P And there is really no reason for it..? Who decides such things? Im just curious..

Also, if I may ask, will the game be pre-loadable would be a bit lame to see it finally launch and then I need to download X GB of data before I can play it :P

Thanks,

Yep, that is basicly it.

Steam just unlocks the game for us, and we can start downloading, however if we can pre-load the game, we can download the game BEFORE the actual launch.

Meaning the minute it launches, we can launch the game and play, and we do not have to download the whole game first.

Well I'm in Pacific time and it's 4PM right now. Steam says "approx 21 hours", which puts it at 1PM tomorrow afternoon. :(

I just preordered because of the slight discount and can confirm that as of now (approx 18 hours till release) there is no preload.

Steam patched that exploit with the release of L4D2, which was banned in australia.

Sucks that it's going to be in the afternoon. I was hoping to start the download before I left for work so that it'd be all ready for me when I got home.

Street dates are bullcrap, why would NA get it on the 23rd and EU on the 26th?
To me 23rd is official release and EU should sell the game same day.

As of 12:10am Eastern Time, I can confirm nothing has happened, the steam page says it will unlock in 16 hours. Still I`ll probably stay up till 3, just in case... just in case...

Maybe they have made two dates to avoid a heavy server overload when everybody starts downloading, thus separating the community into two big, approximately equally-sized blocks?
But this still does not explain why also the boxed game is sold in the EU so late....

One last check before sleep... And I am dissapointed.
Guess I'll have to play tomorrow after classes.
