oookay, calm down, we'll look into that ;)

What operating system are you using? (Windows 7 / Windows Vista) ?
Your system (CPU and RAM) above or equal minimum system requirements?
Do you have the newest drivers installed? (see sticky post here in forum for link)
Do you have DirectX 10 or higher installed?
The install via steam worked okay? So it is on your HDD but you can't start it? Do you get any kind of error or that does you system do when you try to start it?
[just that i see the problem really 100% for shure - clear, my english is not the best]

The 8600 GT normally supports DX10 afaik, so the problem must be somewhere else... [see questions up]

Not really sure.

Either way that card is pretty weak.

Unfortunately. the nVidia GeForce 8600GT is not supported, only the GeForce 8600GTS is supported as this provides higher performance. That said, it might still run the game but the performance from it may not be acceptable to play with. Have you tried redownloading the demo? Do you have UAC turned on? Disable anti-virus and other security software prior to launching the game to prevent conflicts. Make sure Windows is fully updated also.

You may wish to uninstall those 196.75 drivers, it would appear that nVidia have removed them. You should use the 196.21 drivers instead for now : http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/win7_winvista_32bit_196.21_whql_uk.html

ah mod was faster ^^ i let that stand here "just cause" i wrote it xD

Okay, your graphic-card may be the weak point.

Gets only 48% here:
http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?p_make=Intel&p_deriv=Core+2+Duo+E7400+2.80GHz&gc_make=Nvidia&gc_deriv=Geforce+8600+GT&g_id=550&game=Just+Cause+2&ram=3&checkSubmit=#system%20requirements

If i were you, i'd invest about 100 € for a cheap card with decent possibilities (like 8800GT or better the GTS250) and i Think that would benefit the power of the rest of your system. Your processor is capable of more than your actual graphiccard can do so it slows you, kind of, down.

If you'r lucky there may be some workaround but i think with that card you got, you won't have really fun while playing. With a better card you could play in good resolution and with good detail and enjoy the graphics of the game ;)

:-( Okay that was not verry helpfull i think, the only ones to help you are ppl. which got the same problem - to test what may help :-(

Due to my position I can't give an opinion on one manufacturer over another however I've just posted up the minimum requirements with a list of supported graphics cards, take a look : http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=102270

I'd need to check on that but it's possible at this stage that they could still be "subject to change" but I doubt they will be any different once the retail version launches.

196.75

i would uninstall those drivers if i were you ;)

"**UPDATE**
A problem has been found with the latest Nvidia drivers requiring the links to be temporarily removed. They will be up again as soon as the problem has been adressed. If you have recently updated to the latest 196.75 and are experiencing problems you are advised to uninstall and revert to previous"
