Which console serves the best Arkham Asylum Gameplay?
Xbox 360 Or the PS3.Excluding the fact that Ps3 allows you to play as Joker which, in your opinion, is Better??

They're identical for the most part, No noticable difference anyway.

Just a future warning to anyone - This will be closed immediately if there is any fighting or signs of a console war.

Yeah the only real difference is that tilt thing for PS3 and the location of the left analog stick.

It all narrows down to controller preference.

hmmm consoles aren't really different besides the controller.
and unless you really really wanted to play as the joker.
personally i didn't really care for that exprience so i vote 360 :)

Viceroy Phoenix

I think there SHOULD be a DLC for 360 allowing you to play as Joker. That would be cool. But it's a bonus for Ps3 owners, hope they have fun!

I'm used to the Xbox. But the only things different about the 360, PS3 and PC is probably the controls and the gadget selection.

The one you believe has the better controller. Tho if youre planning on BUYING a console because of BAA2... I'd wait abit just to make sure Sony or Microsoft hasn't putted up a exclusive content deal with the publishers.

One website did the comparion of the two games on both platforms, PS3 came out the best because of its shadow/lighting or something like that. but at the end of the day its personal preference.

I don't think it matters :)

The joker maps weren't great anyway, if there were any graphical differences, they were barely noticeable (imo, a friend has a 360) - not that I did a decent comparison. Both of the controllers are better for different people, the sixaxis isn't used in B:AA anyway. The only thing is I found it more awkward to switch to diagonal gadgets on the 360 version - not that is was that bad anyway.

All in all, who cares? :P

There was an option to use the Sixaxis tilt to control gliding and the remote controlled Batarang.

The only real difference I noticed is that it's easier to select gadgets with the PS3 but easier to aim punches on the 360 (both are to do with the controllers).

I have a 360, and PS3, but I bought Arkham Asylum on PS3. I haven't played the 360 version yet though.

In most cases the differences between cross platform games are very minimal. Basically it's all subjective when you really think about it. Controller feel differs from person to person.

I prefer to use the 360 for certain games, and PS3 for others. In saying that I've always been a long time Playstation fan, but I bought a Xbox in 03, and a 360 earlier this year to give me more gaming options.

Wait what? How exactly are you "aiming" punches? You just point the stick in the direction you want him to punch. There's no difference here at all. I've played the demo of all 3 (Xbox, PS3 and PC) versions and I own the game for PS3 and PC. I played the PC version with an Xbox controller. There is no fundamental difference between the controls and how they play out.

I meant aiming the direction in which you throw the punches, because I find the thumbsticks on the 360 to be more precise.

When you look at every aspect of a Ps3 and then compare it to the 360, (but mostly the fail/sucess ratio 1 out of 10 PS3 fail where as 5/10 360's will be sent in to be fixed) While the PS3 may have slightly better hardware and other crap like that the 360 is better for playing in a community therefore making the experiance better

The PS3 community is great considering you pretty much get to pick who is in your community. The whole Bat-community on these forums are pretty tight in the PS3 community. It's not how the other players act as much as your friends act. In which, we all rock out usually on the same game.

Yeah that's what I like about the PS3 controllers too. The overall design is still basically the same as the PS1, but I'm getting more used to the 360 controller.

Nemesis296
24th Dec 2009, 13:35
No one buys them

Sure they do...it just so happens that PS3 uses Bluetooth so they aren't as readily available for each and every player. This in my opinion is a *huge* plus because you don't hear whiny 12 year old kids as you play Modern Warfare like you do when you play Halo on XBL.

I will say this though about the controller. The PS3 controller has much more sudden movement of the analog sticks. The 360 controller has somewhat of a 'catch' on it's movement, almost like there is resistance slightly when moving the sticks. To be precise with the PS3 requires a very steady hand and a little bit more patience. If I had to choose a layout though, I definitely would pick the PS3 controller...it fits so much easier in my hands.

If anyone finds themselves asking this question (which means you have both systems), then the answer should always be PS3, with three exceptions:

1.) If you hate the PS3 controller / it's not comfortable for you

2.) If you have friends that have it or played it on 360, and you want to compete with them in the Challenge Mode leaderboards.

3.) You have a friend that has it for 360 that will let you borrow the game.

I don't have PS3, but I wish I could play the Joker challenges. From what I've read, the predator challenges with Joker play a lot differently.

Same here. It kind of stinks that the PS3 has something extra for the game, yet the Xbox 360 doesn't.:( Hopefully that gets fixed in BAA2.; and if nothing else, the option to do challenges as the Joker is still better than not having the option to use him at all.

spandy15

I think it comes down to playability; is the playability (combat, gadget use, etc.) better and easier for the Xbox 360 or for the PS3? That being said, only people who have played the game on both systems would be able to formulate an accurate opinion. As Prince Daka and jvini said, only a fool would own the same game on two different systems; following this assumption, one can conclude that the only people able to formulate an accurate opinion for this question would be referred to as a fool. :p

For me the xbox controllers have always felt too bulky. Even though i have fairly large hands I still prefer the compact feel of the Ps3 controller. And as stated before the 360's failure rate doesn't help xbox's case at all.

Honestly, I believe that the ps3 controller is better, because you can use the motion sensor function to controll batman in the air, or steer the remote-controll bat-rang. It gives you a more self-oriented gameplay experience.

DanManMaster

Well I've looked at the Xobox gameplay and compared it to my Playstaion Three's and in xbox everything seemed far too reflective as if Batman was made of plastic and well .... everything else while the PS3's version I think is more detailed and dark and seems far more physical. But that is what I think anyway. I don't want to start a war but PS3 is better in presentation and feautures in ways and of course some Xbox lover is going to disagree as usual (sigh) .... :D

Still stupid about the fact that X-Box charge you online :(

The only reason I own both for 360 and ps3 is because I have two other brothers who like it too. It gave us individually more playing time, and I prefer the ps3 controls because I get confused when I try the 360 version. The trigger buttons are swapped, and they make more sense on the ps3.
